Police helicopter wreckage retrieved from Sungai Pulai for investigation
Commander of the PGU under the Internal Security and Public Order Department, Datuk Noor Sham Md Jani, confirmed that a detailed probe will be conducted by the Air Accident Investigation Bureau.
'Cooperation from multiple agencies expedited the process of retrieving the wreckage and will allow for a more thorough investigation,' he said when contacted by Bernama.
The operation to recover the AS355N helicopter, bearing registration number 9M-PHG, began early in the morning, with the wreckage lifted from the seabed by 11 am.
A crane vessel and several PDRM assets were deployed for the retrieval.
The Royal Malaysian Navy, Region Two Marine Police, and the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency were among the agencies involved in the operation.
Bernama observed that preparations were meticulously carried out before the wreckage was gradually hoisted and transported to a nearby jetty.
The helicopter crashed last Thursday during its participation in the Multilateral Nuclear Security Detection Exercise (MITSATOM) 2025, involving Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and Singapore.
The exercise was held at the Gelang Patah Maritime Jetty. All five individuals on board sustained injuries but are reported to be in stable condition. - Bernama

2 boys drown while swimming at waterlogged area near Sg Klang
No foul play is suspected in the death of the two boys. (PDRM pic) SHAH ALAM : Two boys found drowned at Jalan Cili Merah in Section 24 here yesterday are believed to have been swimming in a water-filled area at the Sungai Klang flood mitigation project site, according to police. Shah Alam police chief Iqbal Ibrahim said that according to witness accounts, the boys, aged nine and 12, had gone to the area to swim before they were found drowned. 2 students nabbed after Form 1 girl found tied up in school toilet

(Bernama pic) PETALING JAYA : Police have arrested two 13-year-old students to assist in an investigation into the alleged bullying of a female Form 1 student at a secondary school in Sungai Petani, Kedah. Buletin TV3 reported that the 13-year-old girl was found last Monday in a school toilet, gagged with a handkerchief, and her hands and feet bound with neckties. The girl's mother realised something was amiss when she did not show up at the school gate as usual after classes ended at 6.30pm. The mother and a security guard found her in the toilet after searching all over the school. The girl was sent to the hospital for treatment for light injuries to her hands and feet. The mother then lodged a police report. Kuala Muda police chief Hanyan Ramlan said the two suspects admitted to bullying the girl out of jealousy. 'An investigation is ongoing, and the suspects are being remanded under Sections 323 and 324 of the Penal Code (for voluntarily causing hurt),' he said.
