Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 arrives on July 11

Yahoo04-03-2025
After weeks of teasers from Activision and Tony Hawk, the video game publisher has officially announced that Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 will be available on July 11. Iron Galaxy Studios remade the old skateboarding games from the ground up to create an updated version of the classics. The remake includes the original games' content, along with cross-platform online multiplayer for up to eight skaters. Activision says it picks up from where Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 left off, but it didn't mention whether the new title would also come with local multiplayer like its predecessor does.
The new game was developed by a different studio than the one that remade the first two games even though Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 was pretty well-received. Hawk previously revealed that Vicarious Visions, the studio that developed the first remake, was supposed to work on the third and fourth installments, as well. However, that plan was scrapped after the studio got absorbed into Blizzard. The new game will feature new skaters, tricks and brand-new parks. Its skater selection will include legends in the sport — though Bam Margera was notably absent in the roster we were given — as well as newer names, like two-time Olympics champion Yuto Horigome.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 will be available for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch. For the PC, it can be purchased through Steam, Battle.net and Microsoft Store. Finally, Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers will be able to play it at launch through the game streaming service. Pre-orders will be available starting today, and those who do purchase in advance will be able to access the Foundry Demo in June. Those willing to pay extra and pre-order the Digital Deluxe and Collector's Editions will be able to access the game earlier on July 8. The Digital Deluxe Edition comes with extra content, while the Collector's Edition comes with a full-size Birdhouse skateboard deck and a printed Tony Hawk autograph.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 arrives on November 14

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will launch on November 14. Microsoft revealed the release date for the upcoming shooter sequel alongside a new trailer during Opening Night Live at Gamescom 2025. Notably, while Black Ops 7 will be on PC, PlayStation and Xbox at launch, it'll skip the Switch 2, despite a binding legal agreement between Microsoft and Nintendo that requires that the company's consoles receive the same access to Call of Duty as Xbox. Similar to past games in the series, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is leaning into a trippy narrative and a futuristic setting. The sequel is set 40 years after the events of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 , and follows David Mason (as played by Milo Ventimiglia) and his squad of Black Ops operatives as they take on "a manipulative enemy who weaponizes fear above all else," according to publisher Activision. Microsoft, who owns the Call of Duty franchise following the completion of its acquisition of Activision Blizzard King in 2023, originally signed on for a 10-year pact with Nintendo to bring Call of Duty games to the Switch. The company made the commitment — and another, vaguer one with PlayStation — in an attempt to smooth over any opposition to gobbling up another large publisher. The acquisition was ultimately allowed to move forward, and Microsoft has so far ended up bringing even more of what could have been exclusive games to other consoles. Black Ops 7 has name recognition and a devoted fan base on its side, but it'll face some healthy competition this fall. Battlefield 6 is set to be released on October 10, and based on the response to the beta alone, it seems like time away has made EA' shooter franchise all the more popular. Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Steam and Xbox Game Pass subscribers will get the game at launch. The game will come to Switch later in 2025.

Black Ops 7's campaign is way bigger than you think

We all knew we'd be getting a new Black Ops 7 trailer at Gamescom Opening Night Live, but this quick look and pre-order announcement didn't give us the full picture of what this game has in store. Odds are most fans are already busy pre-ordering the game for PS5 or Xbox Series X after learning that Menendez is back, but if you want some more details to push you over the edge, I have some more exciting information about the Black Ops 7 campaign not included in the new trailer. The new campaign has been the main focus of Black Ops 7's marketing thus far, and for good reason. This is the biggest and most evolved a Call of Duty campaign has been in years. Not only does this campaign feature 4 player co-op across its globetrotting and mindbending story, but there will now be a new endgame and progression system to match the systems in multiplayer and Zombies. This includes XP, a battle pass, challenges, and more, but what exactly does this look like? After beating the campaign, players will unlock a new 12th mission called Endgame. Using the same operators from the campaign, you will be able to drop into an extraction-like scenario in Avalor with up to 31 players to earn new skills, abilities, calling cards, weapon camo, and everything else you'd expect to be earning in multiplayer or Zombies. But, just like an extraction shooter, you will lose all your operator progress if your squad gets wiped out. Recommended Videos The team does promise that the Black Ops 7 campaign will have a satisfying ending. Set in 2035, this game will be the ultimate conclusion of story threads set up in both Black Ops 2 and Black Ops 6. The four playable characters are familiar faces in David Mason, Mike Harper, and Eric Samuels, but one newcomer to the series is Leilani Tuuola. The campaign isn't the only pillar of Black Ops 7 with new twists. Multiplayer is getting traditional prestige, but also the return of weapon prestige, plus a new Skirmish mode that features 20 vs. 20 battles, encouraging fast movement. Sharing weapon builds is also easier than ever, thanks to the ability to send your weapon builds directly to friends or share them online with a unique code. We're all excited about Zombies, but Dead Ops Arcade 4 might steal the show. We'll learn way more about multiplayer and round-based Zombies later on, but the Black Ops 7 campaign has way more to be excited for than previous years. Black Ops 7 will launch on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on November 14, but there's a beta running from October 2 through October 8 for those who preorder or are Game Pass subscribers.
