Qadsia signs veteran Al-Shammari on one-year contract

KUWAIT CITY, July 31: Qadsia Sports Club has bolstered its handball roster ahead of the upcoming season by signing veteran player Nawaf Al-Shammari on a one-year deal. Al-Shammari joins from Kuwait Club, bringing with him a wealth of experience and a legacy of achievements after a decade with the club. Over the past ten seasons, Al-Shammari played a key role in establishing Kuwait Club's golden era in handball. During his tenure, the club dominated the domestic scene—clinching 13 consecutive league titles and 12 straight cup championships. His contributions also extended to the international stage, helping the team capture prestigious titles such as the Asian and Arab Championships. Qadsia's signing of Al-Shammari is part of a strategic push to attract top local talent and mount a serious challenge for silverware in the upcoming campaign. In parallel with player reinforcements, Qadsia has finalized its handball administrative structure. The department will be led by Sami Bouyabes as General Director, with Baqer Khuraibet as Assistant Director, Hadi Nassir as First Team Manager, and Hayder Bahman and Osama Mosameh serving as team administrators. The club's leadership is focused on ensuring administrative stability in the handball division, with hopes that it will foster consistent performance across all levels and help restore Qadsia's position as a strong contender for titles. Qadsia experienced an up-and-down season last year, falling short of Premier League qualification. However, they made a strong impression in the First Division, ultimately securing the title and earning promotion back to the top tier. The team also reached the final of the Kuwait Cup, where they narrowly lost to Kuwait Club by a single goal.
