Jordanian Field Hospital in Southern Gaza/7 Performs Specialized Surgeries - Jordan News

Jordanian Field Hospital in Southern Gaza/7 Performs Specialized Surgeries The medical teams at the Jordanian Field Hospital South Gaza/7 have performed a number of specialized surgeries for children suffering from congenital deformities, specifically cleft palates and cleft lips, on patients ranging in age from three months to three years. اضافة اعلان The hospital's commanding officer stated that, in line with the directives of the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces to provide the best medical and humanitarian services to the people of Gaza, the medical staff carried out complex surgeries through highly skilled and specialized doctors and nurses. A senior maxillofacial surgeon explained that the children were suffering from malnutrition, difficulty swallowing, and full dependence on infant formula, which placed a significant burden on their families. He also noted that the children had been deprived of timely treatment due to the lack of specialized medical staff for such complex cases. In response, doctors from Nasser Medical Complex were trained in the hospital's operating rooms to equip them for handling such cases in the future. He added that the severity of the cases ranged from moderate to severe, including diagnoses such as wide bilateral cleft palates and complete cleft lips. These conditions were further complicated by delayed preoperative procedures due to the challenging conditions in the Gaza Strip. The children's families expressed their deep gratitude and appreciation to His Majesty King Abdullah II and to the efforts of the Jordanian field hospital staff for the essential medical and therapeutic services being provided to the people of Gaza.

Mohammed Asfour: Another Infant Dies from Israeli-Induced Starvation in Gaza - Jordan News

Mohammed Asfour: Another Infant Dies from Israeli-Induced Starvation in Gaza Palestinian infant Mohammed Zakaria Asfour passed away on Thursday at Nasser Hospital in southern Gaza, due to severe malnutrition caused by Israel's systematic starvation campaign and the lack of treatment and humanitarian access amid the ongoing genocide waged by Tel Aviv for the past 22 months. اضافة اعلان A medical source told Anadolu Agency that Mohammed, who was one year and four months old, died as a result of complications related to starvation. Hospitals are unable to provide necessary care due to a critical shortage of food and medicine. Social media users circulated heartbreaking videos showing the child lying on a hospital bed, visibly weak, with his rib bones protruding—a stark image of famine. Such deaths—especially among infants—are becoming tragically common due to the continued blockade on Gaza, Israel's deliberate starvation policy, the prevention of humanitarian and food aid, and the acute shortages of essential supplies. Starvation has worsened in Gaza, and the death toll from malnutrition has risen to 193 since October 2023, including 96 children, according to figures released Wednesday by the Ministry of Health. UN agencies and local organizations warn that the ongoing blockade and obstruction of aid delivery could soon result in mass child fatalities, especially as health and living conditions continue to deteriorate and the medical system collapses entirely. Despite the buildup of aid trucks at Gaza's entry points, Israel continues to block their entry or severely limits distribution, insisting on bypassing UN oversight and allowing in only a trickle of supplies that UN reports say amount to 'a drop in the ocean.' Since March 2, Israel has avoided implementing a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement with Hamas and has shut Gaza's crossings to the aid trucks now stranded at the borders. Since October 7, 2023, Israel—with U.S. support—has waged a campaign of genocide in Gaza involving killings, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement, while ignoring international appeals and defying International Court of Justice orders to halt its actions. The genocide has resulted in 61,158 Palestinian deaths, 151,442 injuries—mostly among women and children—and over 9,000 people reported missing. Hundreds of thousands have been displaced, and famine has claimed the lives of many. —(Anadolu)

Jordanian Field Hospital in Gaza performs reconstructive surgeries for children

Ammon News - The Jordanian Field Hospital "7" in southern Gaza has conducted several specialized reconstructive surgeries for children aged 3 months to 3 years suffering from congenital cleft palate and cleft lip deformities. The hospital's force commander stated that, in line with directives from the General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces, the medical teams are committed to delivering high-quality medical and humanitarian services to the people of the Gaza Strip. The procedures were performed by highly trained surgical and nursing staff. A senior specialist in maxillofacial surgery noted that the affected children suffer from severe complications, including malnutrition and swallowing difficulties, relying exclusively on formula milk, which places an added financial and emotional burden on their families. He explained that delays in receiving timely surgical intervention due to limited medical resources have compounded the complexity of these cases. The specialist added that the surgeries addressed varying degrees of severity, including bilateral cleft palates and complete harelips. Medical teams also trained local physicians from Nasser Medical Complex in surgical techniques for such deformities, enhancing local capacity for future cases. Families of the children expressed profound gratitude to His Majesty King Abdullah II and praised the dedication and professionalism of the Jordanian field hospital staff, whose continuous support has provided essential medical services to the people of Gaza.
