Kyogo sees Celtic return 'chance' explode for one key reason as Rennes boss starts ticking exit clock

The frontman has faced a nightmare spell in Ligue 1 since leaving Glasgow in January
A return to Celtic has a "chance" following Kyogo Furuhashi the injury to Jota.
The 30-year-old has endured a nightmare spell with Stade Rennes after he left the Scottish Premiership champions behind in January.

He has yet to score his first goal for his new club after his £10million move with unimpressed boss Habib Beye giving the Japan international just one start so far.

And things have gone from bad to worse for the attacker in recent weeks - having failed to make the 21-man team sheet for the last three games.
A nagging shoulder injury that plagued him during his time in Glasgow with Celtic - but Beye has declared that injury is not the reason for the striker's absence.
He said: "The squad is virtually complete. Only Ayanda Sishuba and Alidu Seidu are injured."
He will now hope to get the nod for Saturday's clash with Nice - with Beye throwing down the gauntlet to his players to impress him before the end of the Ligue 1 campaign.
With just two games remaining, he said: "We have taken the team on as we went along. The group had to assimilate the level of intensity we imposed on them.
"Ot has nothing to do with their physical capacity, because we know they all have it.

"It's more a question of the connection between each of them in terms of their state of mind and we want to see more of that from the players.
"We'll take stock at the end of the season and assume our responsibilities."
Winger Jota arrived at Celtic from Rennes in January with Kyogo going in the opposite direction.

But after his return to Celtic Park, the Portuguese star faces nine months out through injury - leaving Brendan Rodgers ' men short in the attacking third.
Speaking to Open Goal, host Paul Slane stated he would do everything to get Kyogo back for next season following Jota's injury with rumours in Japan circling over a switch back to the Hoops.

Former Rangers man Andy Halliday responded: 'The mad thing is, there would be a chance as well. He's not playing at all. I think he (Brendan Rodgers) would take him back.

Rasmus Hojlund 'must be shaking in his pants' after teammate 'overtakes' him in Danish national team

Danish media have claimed that Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund 'must be shaking in his pants' after being overtaken in the pecking order for the Danish national team. A report from Bold made the claim on Tuesday night after Denmark eased to 5-0 win in their friendly against Lithuania. That saw Hojlund benched for Monaco strike Mika Biereth, formerly of Arsenal, after he enjoyed an impressive season as he scored 13 goals in 16 appearances in Ligue 1. Biereth opened the scoring after just 12 minutes to give his side the lead while also drawing a red card as he was fouled by Edgaras Utkus. The Danish outlet described Biereth as being 'venomous' inside the box - while adding that 'Højlund must be shaking his pants by now. He has been overtaken.' That assessment of Hojlund's status in the national team came after he endured a disappointing second season in a Manchester United shirt. That came after he endured a tough second campaign for Manchester United He scored just ten goals in 49 appearances across all competitions, with just four of those coming in the Premier League. That has seen him linked with a move away from Old Trafford with Ruben Amorim increasingly going to Joshua Zirkzee as his preferred option up front. That saw the Dane give an update on his future amid talk of a possible summer transfer to Inter Milan. The Italian side - who were thumped 5-0 by PSG in the Champions League final - have made further contact with Red Devils about a permanent move for the striker. Speaking after Denmark's previously friendly, a 2-1 win over Northern Ireland on Saturday night, he told TV 2 Sport: 'I have a contract [until 2028], so I expect to play for Manchester United. 'I'm looking forward to going on a summer vacation, and then I'm fully dedicated to the project that's underway. 'I know I can't get much out of reading things. I know what the facts are, and that is that I have a contract with Manchester United. 'I expect to play there, so I'm just getting ready for some summer vacation and then hopefully a good pre-season.' His comments came after United are said to be keen on signing another forward. As a result, they are set to listen to suitable offers for Hojlund, who cost United £64million plus a further £8m in potential add-ons when he made the move from Atalanta back in August 2023.

Tottenham star Micky van de Ven breaks silence on Ange Postecoglou's sacking after Europa League win - as Spurs close in on Thomas Frank appointment

Tottenham star Micky van de Ven has called the decision to part ways with Ange Postecoglou 'strange' after delivering the club's first trophy in 17 years last month. The former Celtic manager was dismissed by Daniel Levy after a hugely disappointing Premier League campaign with Tottenham finishing 17th, however he did claim the Europa League final. He beat a Manchester United side that had been almost as poor domestically, but it was not enough to save his job, as Spurs looked to part ways over the summer to give his replacement an opportunity to bed in and rebuild the side ahead of the new season. 'That was ultimately a choice from the club,' Van de Ven told Voetbal Zone of Levy's decision. 'We, as players, have little to say about that. Of course, he is the first coach in a long time who has won a trophy has had success at Spurs. So if you look at it that way, it is of course a strange choice. 'It is a choice from the club about which we have little to say, so we will see what happens now. Of course, we see some rumours about the Brentford head coach [Frank], who it will probably be. So yes, a choice from the club about which we have little to say. 'I think many of the players got along with [Postecoglou] well. And of course, what I say, he is the first coach who has brought success to Spurs in a long time. That also shows that he has a certain quality. That also means that he has a winning mentality. 100 per cent. 'From that, you would of course say that it is strange that he was fired. What we have shown in the Premier League is, of course, unacceptable. That would, of course, have multiple factors, but that would not only have been the coach.' As Van de Ven mentioned, Spurs are expected to appoint Thomas Frank as Postecoglou's successor in the coming days, with the Brentford manager's release clause set to be paid out. Mail Sport reported on Monday that Frank has a release clause thought to be around £10million, but those with knowledge of the situation believe it is heading towards a positive conclusion. Negotiations have now started, with chairman Daniel Levy representing Tottenham and Phil Giles, Brentford's director of football, in talks. Aside from the release fee, discussions are also likely to focus on Frank's backroom staff, and the level of compensation needed to allow them to follow him from west to north London. The Bees will demand suitable recompense for a manager who has been with the club for close to a decade and who has overseen a period of remarkable success. Frank arrived at the club in 2016 as assistant head coach and was appointed manager in 2018. In his first full season in charge he led them to the play-off final and followed it up with promotion to the Premier League. Over the past four years he has firmly established Brentford as a top-flight club.

Dor Turgeman told to make Rangers transfer by ex-Celtic flop

And Berkovic - who had a disastrous spell at Parkhead after Celtic splashed out a then-huge sum of £5.75 million for the Israeli international back in 1999 under John Barnes - reckons Rangers would be a good option for Turgeman. Berkovic said: "Rangers and Celtic are both big clubs who play in the Champions League often... but also in a very boring league. Read more: "But the big difference between going to Scotland and say somewhere like FC Copenhagen is that Rangers and Celtic are on British TV every week. "So if you are a star for them, you are watched by English Premier League clubs every week. That's the difference between Scottish and Danish football. "The problem would be to adapt. I can give you examples of dozens of our players who moved to Europe, America and Japan... and disappeared. "It's not easy for an Israeli player to play in zero degrees for six or seven months. It's not easy to live there."
