'I love books. I just love them. They've been my best friends, my companions,' she told Billboard's executive director of music, Jason Lipshutz, during the Billboard Book Club conversation. 'I always love to find myself in a story and process something. And I just thought, 'You know what? I really want to see a new female character that really connects with us, with who we are now, and someone that is not perfect, and finding the courage you never knew you had.''
The Rosie Frost series follows a teenage heroine as she navigates through a fantastical world and searches for resolution following the loss of her mother. As she did with the first Rosie Frost entry, Halliwell-Horner recorded a new solo song as a tie-in with the book: 'Older Now,' which is available with a book purchase via QR code, is a moving ballad that exists in conversation with the Ice on Fire story, but will also delight longtime fans of the pop star.
'To have the space to be able to play and do this, I'm incredibly grateful,' said Halliwell-Horner of her expanding creativity. In addition to discussing her writing process, reading an excerpt of the new book and discussing future plans for the franchise, Halliwell-Horner also answered fan questions coming in during the livestream — one of which touched upon the possibility of a Rosie Frost film or TV adaptation.
'As I write, I always think in pictures — I can't help it,' she said. 'There are some exciting developments, and I really look forward to sharing them.'
Halliwell-Horner also signed copies of Rosie Frost: Ice on Fire, which fans can purchase live or via replays of the livestream.
Billboard Book Club interviews will be featured on Billboard.com, on Billboard's TalkShopLive channel and be simulcast to Billboard's Facebook and Instagram pages. Viewers watching on Facebook and Instagram can comment the word 'shop' to receive a link in their direct messages to purchase.
All sales from Billboard and TalkShopLive via TalkShopLive's book distribution partner, ReaderLink, count toward The New York Times' Best Sellers list.

Advertisement During the special, Rife recalled an incident about a waitress he was served by that had a black eye. 'My boy who I was with was like, 'Yeah, I feel bad for her, man, I feel like they should put her in the kitchen or something where nobody has to see her face.' And I was like, 'Yeah, but I feel like if she could cook, she wouldn't have that black eye,'' Rife said, according to Independent. Rife's response to anger at the joke included an Instagram story with a link that people were encouraged to click on to 'solve their issue'. The link led to a website that sold helmets for people with disabilities. Advertisement After the E. L. F Cosmetics ad dropped, people were quick to issue their anger with the brand for including a man they claim doesn't respect women, and for taking away an opportunity from a beauty creator. 'So you've paid a comedian who jokes about domestic violence to promote your make up brand, are you going to be promoting a good concealer to cover bruises next,' one said. 'You could have picked hundreds of other comedians to be in your ad, put the money into the pocket of someone who would be a positive role model but yet you chose someone who thinks domestic violence is something to joke about. Neighbor Builds Fence Flap So Dachshund Besties Can Play Together

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Two dachshund best friends have captured internet viewers' attention after their owners built a custom "dog flap" in the garden fence separating them, so the pair who live next door could see each other every day. A video of the setup, shared to TikTok by @shmeve on July 13, has delighted viewers on the platform. The post has been viewed over 1.8 million times, leaving many on the platform in stitches. The clip shows a wooden garden fence, fitted with a small flap toward its lower end and a ramp leading up to it. On one side, the video creator's dachshund waits eagerly in front of the flap, tail wagging. When a family member opens it, the dog races up the ramp and greets their neighbor's dachshund, who pulls themselves through from the other side. The two then dash around the garden together, chasing and playing in an unmistakable display of joy. "When your best friend lives next door so you get a sausage dog flap made for you," an overlaid text on the clip read. Viewers flooded the comments with praise for the inventive fence feature and the clear bond between the two dogs. Many remarked on how eagerly the dachshund duo ran to meet each other, while others shared how much the clip brightened their day. "The way they both try to get through at the same time," one viewer said, while another added: "This is amazing, living their best lives." "Wow so lucky to have this with [your] bestie," a third posted. "That's adorable," one viewer commented. "None of you can move now," another added. "This made my heart really happy," a third wrote. "This is the best thing I've ever saw on this app," one posted. "This is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen," another viewer commented. The simple addition to the fence appears to have transformed the daily routine for the dogs, giving them regular opportunities for exercise and companionship without the barrier that once kept them apart. Dachshunds, often affectionately called sausage dogs or wiener dogs, are known for their playful energy and strong attachments to both their human and canine companions. Taylor Swift to join Kelce brothers on 'New Heights' podcast to discuss new album

Taylor Swift will sit down with boyfriend and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and his brother, retired Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, on their "New Heights" podcast Wednesday night to discuss her upcoming album. The Kelces will kick off their show at 7 p.m. ET with special guest Swift, who is expected to divulge more details about her 12th studio album, announced in the early hours of Tuesday. Monday threw the Swiftie fandom into a frenzy, when, minutes apart, both "New Heights" and Taylor Nation, a social media account affiliated with Swift's team, seemed to hint at major pending news. It started with a social media post from "New Heights" on Monday morning, teasing a new episode with a major guest. In the promo image, Jason Kelce wore a shirt with Swift's face on it, and fans insisted a silhouette of said guest resembled Swift. Shortly afterward, Taylor Nation shared a carousel of 12 photos on Instagram, featuring Swift during the Eras Tour performing in orange outfits. The caption read, "Thinking about when she said 'See you next era...'" On Monday night, a countdown to 12:12 a.m. Aug. 12 began on Swift's website, and later, "New Heights" confirmed the guest rumors, posting a video clip of Swift recording the podcast with the Kelces. "We're about to do a f---ing podcast," Swift exclaims in the video. Finally, at 12:12 a.m. Tuesday, when the countdown was up, "New Heights" posted another snippet of Swift showing the brothers her new album, "The Life of a Showgirl." No other details about the album were revealed, but fans were able to place pre-orders on Swift's website. The pre-orders will ship before Oct. 13, but the website said that is "not a release date" and added that the official date will be announced later. Fans are hopeful Wednesday's podcast will bring more details, like the reveal of the album cover, song titles and an official release date. "Life of a Showgirl" will be Swift's first release of 2025 and her first since the Eras tour wrapped at the end of last year. It follows the news in May that she was able to purchase the masters of her first six records from Shamrock Capital, gaining ownership of her entire catalog. Topics of discussion on the podcast will likely not be limited to just her album, however, as "New Heights" posted another teaser on Wednesday morning where Swift trolled " male sports fans" in the audience. 'And we all know that if there's one thing that male sports fans want to see in their spaces and on their screens, it's more of me,' Swift said on the podcast, tongue firmly in cheek.
