Parish confirms Palace will appeal over Europa League demotion - World
Palace qualified for the Europa League with a shock FA Cup final win over Manchester City in May.
But UEFA, European football's governing body, ruled Palace should drop down to the Conference League over a conflict of interest involving the club's former director John Textor, who also part-owns French side Lyon.
Textor stepped away from Palace at the start of July, but the ownership issue relates to the end of last season when the south London team secured a maiden European appearance by winning the first major trophy in their history.
UEFA's ruling would mean Nottingham Forest, who finished seventh in the Premier League, take Palace's place in the Europa League, but Parish has signalled his intent to contest the decision.
"We are still fighting," Parish told the The Rest is Football podcast. "There's an appeal process, so we go to CAS which is the court for arbitration and, you know, we're very hopeful. We think we've got great legal arguments.
"We don't think this is the right decision by any means. We know unequivocally that John didn't have decisive influence over the club.
"We know we proved that beyond all reasonable doubt because it's a fact."
UEFA rules say that no owner or co-owner can have a controlling interest in more than one club competing in the same European competition during the same season.
Palace's position throughout has been that Textor did not have a sufficiently controlling role for the club to fall foul of the regulations.
But the deadline for shareholders to divest their interest in a club, or in some other way to alter their ownership structure, in order to comply with the regulations was March 1.

Athletics: Seville outshines Olympic champion Lyles in season-opening 100m - Omni sports
Jamaica's Oblique Seville outshone Olympic champion Noah Lyles in the men's 100m at the Diamond League in London on Saturday. Lyles, in lane five outside Seville and inside Botswana's Letsile Tebogo, had a terrible start and spent the whole race attempting to chase down the Jamaican. Seville, twice a fourth-placed finisher in the blue riband event at the two last world championships, duly held his nerve, crossing the line at the London Stadium in 9.86 seconds, with Lyles fighting back to finish second in 10.00sec. Britain's Anguilla-born Zharnel Hughes rounded out the podium in 10.02sec. The build-up to Lyles' first 100m of the season, after he beat Tebogo in the 200m in Monaco last week, was all about the American coming back from an ankle tendon injury and finetuning his form ahead of September's world championships in Tokyo. The 28-year-old, ever the showman, insisted Friday that his goal for the season was to win three gold medals in the Japanese capital, to repeat the triple golden medal haul he enjoyed at the 2023 world championships in Budapest. Arms raised, eyes shut, Lyles applauded the 60,000-capacity crowd and span around on his spikes to acknowledge the rapturous welcome, which was also afforded to Tebogo. As the sprinters settled in their blocks, the sun shone through on West Ham's stadium, a wholesale change from earlier thunder storms. But Seville made the difference from the starter's gun and was never in danger of not winning. Seville's Jamaican teammate Kishane Thompson, the fastest man this year over 100m with a time of 9.75sec, was present in London, but only as part of a strong Jamaican 4x100m relay team seeking to bag a qualifying time for the Tokyo worlds. Thompson anchored the Jamaican quartet to victory in 37.80sec to ensure a berth in the Japanese capital. "We are very grateful to get the job done," Thompson said. "I would not say they were the best exchanges, but we got it around safely." Golf: Scheffler takes one-shot lead into British Open third round - Omni sports
Scottie Scheffler will take a one-shot lead into Saturday's third round of the British Open at Royal Portrush under the expectation to "dominate", according to his playing partner Matthew Fitzpatrick. The world number one eased to a magnificent seven-under par 64 in the second round to edge ahead of Fitzpatrick as he bids for a first Claret Jug, which would complete the third leg of a possible career Grand Slam. Scheffler, who sits at 10-under for the tournament, will tee off at 3:35 pm local time (1435 GMT) alongside England's Fitzpatrick. "He's going to have the expectation to go out and dominate. He's an exceptional player. He's world number one, and we're seeing Tiger-like stuff," said Fitzpatrick. "I think the pressure is for him to win the golf tournament." Fitzpatrick, on nine-under overall, is a shot ahead of 2023 champion Brian Harman and China's Li Haotong, who make up the penultimate group. With no other player within four strokes of the lead, the pressure is on the chasing pack to make the most of excellent scoring conditions in Northern Ireland and cut the gap. Home favourite Rory McIlroy will need something spectacular to get back into contention for a second British Open title, getting his third round under way seven shots back. There were plenty of birdies on offer for the early starters, with Canadian Corey Conners carding a five-under 66 in the first group on the course to reach four-under overall. But Scheffler will be a strong favourite to close out his fourth major victory. The American arrived at Portrush following a run of 10 successive top-10 finishes, featuring three wins including the PGA Championship. Fitzpatrick is hoping to become the first English winner of the British Open since Nick Faldo won his third title in 1992. He described a missed cut at the Players Championship earlier this year as the lowest point of his career, but has found some form in recent weeks. The 2022 US Open champion carded a 66 on Friday, rolling in a 23-foot par putt on the 18th. Harman is targeting a second British Open in three years following his six-shot triumph at Hoylake in 2023. Li, who finished third on debut at the 2017 British Open, is still in the hunt to become the first Chinese man to lift a major title. "Definitely want to be comfortable... Will be a lot of pressure for sure, but just have to find a way to deal with that," said Li, playing in his first major since 2022. Cycling: Olympic champion Evenepoel pulls out of Tour de France - Omni sports
Belgian rider Remco Evenepoel pulled out of the Tour de France during Saturday's stage 14, a gruelling climb of the Tourmalet mountain in the Pyrenees. The double Olympic champion was third in the overall standings and had won stage five in the 21-stage race, but appeared exhausted after Friday's uphill time trial. The Soudal Quick-Step rider won both the Olympic road race and time trial gold in Paris, shortly after finishing third at the 2024 Tour de France and claimed the best young rider's white jersey. But an accident in Brussels in December involving a postal delivery van scuppered the 25-year-old's preparation for this year's Tour. The opening stages were contested near the Belgian border, but Evenepoel lost a minute of the first day after being caught in a cross wind split. This tactical error deprived him of a golden chance of taking the leader's yellow jersey in the first week, where he would pulverise the field on a 33km time trial. The team will now base its attention around fellow Belgian rider Tim Merlier, who has already won two sprint stages on this Tour.
