Calvin Harris locked in furious plagiarism row with iconic Nineties DJ as he's accused of having an 'out of control ego that will ruin his career'
Calvin Harris is embroiled in a furious row with DJ Chicane over claims he 'copied' the star's iconic hit, Offshore.
The Scottish hitmaker, 41 - who is set to welcome a child with wife Vick Hope - has been enjoying chart success lately with his hit, Blessings.
Yet in a shock twist, Chicane - real name Nicholas Bracegirdle - claimed that the new single copies his 1996 classic Offshore, which spent eight weeks in the charts.
Taking to TikTok, he released a two-minute video showing how a riff in Offshore cut and looped sounded the same as Blessings.
He began by stating: 'I'm Nick Chicane and welcome to the video that I thought I would never have to make.'

Chicane continued: 'This is my right to reply to all the comments online about the new Calvin Harris single Blessings' similarity to my 30-year old Offshore.'
He went on to play the two singles on his music editing software before stating: 'It's really hard to decipher when one comes in and one goes, that is because they are almost identical.
Chicane continued: 'I am defending my copyright and intellectual property here guys - I'd like to know what your comments are here guys.
He said that the video was his ;right to reply' about comments he had received in regards to Calvin's new song sounding like his 30-year hit Offshore.
He then showed viewers how a riff in Offshore cut and looped sounded exactly like Blessings.
In response, Calvin filmed a video insisting he hadn't copied the track, which prompted a TikTok user to message Chicane, writing: 'Calvin Harris Reply video convinced me even more that he has copied. Chicane is the guy and the disrespect from Calvin is crazy.'
Chicane responded: 'The disrespect was off the chart, guy is struggling with an out of control ego…. Kinda sad & hilarious to watch him ruin his career.'
Calvin's eight-minute response video showed him playing the two singles in a bid to see which parts sounded the same.
At various parts, he laughed and branded Nick 'stupid' as he insisted: 'it's not the same, it's not the f***ing same.'
He captioned the post: 'Response to the people calling me a plagiarist over the last couple of days after that guys video, all the best.'
Calvin then claimed in the comments that Chicane had actually used a sample in his song, writing: 'If you make it to the end you're rewarded with the track HE ripped off originally for his song.'
When asked by a fan if he had sampled Tangerine Dream's Love On A Real Train in Offshore, Chicane responded on TikTok: 'Good question, not in the slightest….'
MailOnline has contacted Calvin's representatives for comment.
While Calvin has been busy defending himself against plagiarism claims he has also been preparing for fatherhood.
His wife Vick, 35, is now on maternity leave but asked the Radio 1 Big Weekend crowd in Liverpool for baby name ideas on the weekend.
Glowing Vick looked sensational as she showcased her blossoming bump in a vibrant figure hugging maxi dress with thigh-high split.
Chatting with the audience, her co-host Jamie Laing said: 'Vick is about to go on maternity leave, and she wants some help with some baby names, so if you can shout some names to me'.
As the huge crowd began screaming out suggestions a giggling Vick replied: 'Ok, I got it'.
Vick and Calvin's baby is set to have an interesting start to life with the pair owning several homes, including a farm in Ibiza and a 10-acre estate in the Cotswolds.
The couple are reported to be in the process of building a mansion on their Cotswolds estate, which is reported to become their main place of residence.
They tied the knot in September 2023 and only just announced their impending arrival, choosing to keep their relationship largely out of the spotlight.
Vick stressed on air that she didn't want to make a big deal out of her pregnancy.
She said: 'This is not an announcement, by the way. People keep saying are you going to announce, are you going to announce? And I'm like, I'm not the King.
'I'll be honest, I struggle with anything that's personal or private. I will tell you a story about eating a kebab out of a bin, that's one thing.
'But there's a line and so I've never been that big on sharing. Particularly because I've just been enjoying this privately and quietly.'

Anais Gallagher flaunts her incredible figure in a skimpy bikini as she cosies up to rarely-seen boyfriend Callum Scott Howells during French getaway
Anais Gallagher showed off her amazing figure in a skimpy yellow bikini as she poses for a sizzling Instagram snap on Monday during a getaway in Provence, France. The daughter of Oasis frontman Noel Gallagher, 25, looked more loved-up than ever with her rarely-seen boyfriend Callum Scott Howells during the romantic holiday. Anais flaunted her incredible figure in the tiny patterned two-piece and wore her blonde tresses in a neat braid as she posed for a mirror selfie. The model later slipped into a stylish pink linen minidress as she cosied up to her It's a Sin star boyfriend, 25. In another photo, Anais gave a glimpse into the couple's dinner as they cooked chicken and salad as well as spaghetti. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the Daily Mail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. The stunner also wore an eye catching blue off the shoulder crop top in another snap, which she teamed with a chic white miniskirt. The happy couple have reportedly been seeing each other romantically since the autumn of 2023. Callum previously confirmed he identifies as queer, telling Pink News: 'I've always been happy to say to people. So for me, it was just part of it. 'I wouldn't like to speak for anyone else on that matter. But for me it was kind of: "It is what it is".' Anais had been spending quality time with Callum in the wake of her reported split from her long-term boyfriend Julius Roberts. She was in a relationship with the farmer for three years after they got together two days before Christmas in 2019. But a source revealed they have 'ended their relationship' in late 2022 and she was moving back up to London, after splitting her time between the city and his family farm in Dorset. It comes after Anais hit back at those branding her a nepo baby in an impassioned interview. In another photo, Anais gave a glimpse into the couple's dinner as they cooked chicken and salad as well as spaghetti Speaking to H! Fashion magazine, the influencer thanked her Oasis icon father Noel for the 'financial stability' he gave her early in life, but insisted she had paved out her own success. She said: 'There are a lot more dangerous industries in which nepotism is around – look at Donald Trump 's sons. 'I would be far more concerned with people making legislation than an actor wanting to help out their daughter who wants to be an actress. 'All my privilege and, in quotation marks, "luck" has come from my financial stability – not my dad's fame.' The model, who Noel had with his first wife Meg Mathews just a year before their divorce in 2001, suggested that children of singers were more likely to come under fire over nepotism than those with parents successful in other professions. 'I went to school with a lot of very wealthy people who probably had the exact same amount of privilege as me, but they wouldn't get called a nepo baby because their dad's a lawyer or a politician. 'My dad paid for my private education, he paid for my university degree. I was given money to live on so I didn't have to get a job when I was at university. 'If I needed a new camera, he would buy me a new camera to help with my studies – all of those things made my life so much easier than my friends who had to struggle whilst they were studying. 'But I never wanted to be a musician, so him writing Wonderwall never really helped me out. But him having money? Yes.' Anais boasts 269,000 followers on her Instagram account but accepted that she owes at least part of her rapid rise to her rock legend father. 'You have to look at social media as fun,' she said. 'I think I'm in a really unique position in that I never decided I wanted to be an influencer. 'I posted on my Instagram as a normal teenager would, and then, because of who my dad was, initially, I got a lot of followers. I try to navigate social media exactly the same way as my friends who would have a private account of 100 people following it. 'My biggest criticism of certain influencers is that their feed feels like a magazine.' Of her famous dad, who is getting ready to reunite with brother Liam this summer for the first time in more than 15 years, Anais said: 'With my family, what you see is what you get. They are really hard-working people. 'With my dad, I would always go to him for help or advice – it's very funny that a rock star from the 90s is like the most level-headed person I know. He's definitely the guiding force in my life.'

'Feud is brewing between Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury's families over their decision to reunite'
A feud is reportedly brewing between Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury 's families over their decision to give their relationship another go. The former Love Island star and the boxer, both 26, shocked their fans last summer when they announced that they had split, with Tommy later revealing it was down to his drinking. But this year they have slowly reconciled and enjoyed several family trips with their daughter Bambi, two. But a new report from The Sun suggests that Molly-Mae's sister Zoe is concerned about them getting back together. In the latest episodes of Molly-Mae's Amazon Prime documentary Behind It All, Zoe expressed her doubts over Tommy openly. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the Daily Mail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. And this in turn has reportedly angered Tommy's family including his brother Tyson and his wife Paris. A source told the publication: 'The Fury family aren't impressed that Zoe has been so outspoken about Tommy. 'They're a fiercely loyal bunch and seeing Zoe's comments broadcast to millions of people via Amazon absolutely got their hackles up. 'To them Tommy is a stand up guy, a good, hard working father. His drinking issues shouldn't be used as a stick to beat him.' The insider added that Paris is confused as to why Zoe would try to hinder the family getting back together. Tyson, Tommy and Molly-Mae Hague have been contacted by MailOnline for comment. Zoe said of Tommy on the documentary: 'I do worry for her and my relationship with her if they did get back together. 'I think she potentially needs to look into the future and think about what's best for her and Bambi. She's got a long, rocky road ahead, unfortunately.' The former Love Island star and the boxer, both 26, shocked their fans last summer when they announced that they had split, with Tommy later revealing it was down to his drinking It comes after last week Molly-Mae and Tommy looked every inch the happy family as they enjoyed a very lavish 'surprise trip' to the Cotswolds. After months of rumours that the couple had rekindled their romance following their split in August, the pair finally went Instagram official last month with a loved-up family snap. And Tommy has clearly been making the effort since their shock split as he whisked his family off to a 'surprise trip' to the Cotswolds. Sharing an array of snaps to her Instagram Stories, Molly shared some sweet moments from the mini break as she took a dip in the pool with Bambi. Elsewhere she shared a snippet of her very lavish accommodation which featured huge L-shaped couches and large emperor beds. And Bambi appeared to settle in straight away as she was pushing her toy pram around the luxury property. Alongside a mirror selfie, Molly penned: 'Back from St Tropez and straight to the Cotswolds for a surprise staycation. 'This look is giving mum who's had approx 3 seconds to get ready'. Molly and Tommy fell for each other in front of the nation during series five of Love Island, going on to welcome Bambi and then get engaged in 2023. But fans were shocked when Molly announced on Instagram last August that she and Tommy had split up after five years, with many suspecting he had been unfaithful. In a statement posted to her 8.5million Instagram followers, she confirmed the breakup, saying: 'I never imagined our story would end, especially not this way.' Tommy denied continued speculation about him cheating during a magazine interview, insisting any reports about him being with other women were 'complete and utter b*****ks.' The boxer, who's the half-brother of heavyweight champion Tyson, said the reason he and Molly ended their romance was down to his excessive drinking. He said: 'People go through different things in life. I'm 25 years old. I went through a lot and my breakup was in front of the whole world... 'Cheating was never a thing. You can ask Molly this yourself. It was the drink, and the drink is not a good thing.' The pair's split was branded a 'publicity stunt' by fans after they were filmed packing on the PDA at Manchester United footballer Luke Shaw 's Hogmanay party in Cheshire. And in May, Molly-Mae began taking to her Instagram Stories to re-introduce his presence more regularly on her social media account.
