First-Time Lucky: Bangladeshi Expat in Sharjah Wins Big Ticket Prize

In a heartwarming stroke of beginner's luck, 22-year-old Bangladeshi expat Mohammad Khorsed Alam has won AED 50,000 in the Big Ticket weekly e-draw held in Abu Dhabi—on his very first attempt. Alam, who works as a water salesman and has been residing in Sharjah for the past four years, joined a 20-member group to purchase his first-ever Big Ticket entry as part of Series 277. When the draw host Bouchra tried calling him to share the good news, Alam didn't answer—twice. But once the message reached him, the young expat couldn't hold back his excitement. 'I'm really happy to hear about my win,' Alam said, beaming with joy. He also confirmed that he plans to split the prize money evenly among the group that contributed to the ticket. As for trying his luck again, Alam was quick to respond: 'Yes.' His message to others dreaming of a windfall? 'Take a chance—as anything is possible with a bit of luck.' The Big Ticket July promotion is approaching its grand finale, with the highly anticipated AED 20 million jackpot draw scheduled for August 3 in Abu Dhabi. Along with the top prize, six more participants will each receive AED 50,000 as consolation rewards. Tickets are still available online and at official counters in Zayed International Airport and Al Ain Airport, with bundle offers continuing until the end of the month. With stories like Alam's, the dream of striking it rich in the UAE remains very much alive.
