Meghan Markle admits to 'mistakes' as she juggles podcast, lifestyle brand, and podcast in busy year

Daily Mail24-04-2025
Meghan Markle conceded she has made 'mistakes' in trying to juggle three different ventures at once.
The duchess, 43, said her heavy workload has forced her to realize 'she's not going to get it right' every single day.
Meghan's hectic year includes the release of her Netflix series With Love, Meghan; the launch of her company As Ever; and now her Lemonada podcast.
Business chic: Meghan addressed the difficulties surrounding her new ventures while speaking at the TIME100 Summit in New York City on Wednesday
Each of her endeavors has been plagued with snags, and now she has addressed the backlash she faced while speaking at the TIME100 Summit in New York City on Wednesday.
Meghan arrived at the summit with her husband, Prince Harry, and looked business chic in a $5,000 Ralph Lauren suit.
She wore tan, wide-leg silk pants and a matching blazer from the brand.
Underneath the trendy jacket, she wore a white button down top that she tucked into the loose-fitting pants.
The mother of two paired the look with a $180 Veronica Beard brown belt and $495 Stuart Weitzman suede heels.
She accessorized with a $28,000 Cartier gold watch and a pair of gold hoop earrings that appear to be Balenciaga.
Meghan left her long brown hair, which appeared to have a red tint, in loose waves around her face.
The former royal admitted that while releasing 'three products at the same time,' she decided to 'give herself the space and grace to make mistakes' as she 'knows she's not going to get it right' every single day.
'There were three projects that we were launching really at the same time. The past year-and-a-half have been incredibly busy and ambitious,' she said.
'Then you see it all come to life and try to give yourself the space and the grace to make mistakes, to know you're not doing it right every day.'
She also confessed that she had trepidations before making her new series because she feared it would turn into a 'reality show' about her life.
'I said, "How are we going to do a cooking show or a crafting show that doesn't feel like a typical stand and stir [show]," which we all remember from back in the day,' she explained.
'I didn't necessarily want to do that and I didn't want a reality show.'
Meghan added that being a mom to her young kids Archie, five, and Lilibet, three, often puts things in perspective for her.
'Something that is seemingly so big somehow becomes so microscopic in importance compared to what's happening with my children,' she explained.
When asked how she handles being under a 'microscope' and facing immense 'scrutiny,' the 43-year-old explained that she has made a 'very conscious effort to create boundaries for herself, her wellbeing, and mental health.'
She added that it's especially important for her to be a good 'role model' so she can 'raise a very strong and confident young woman.'
'But also having son, I think that is just as paramount,' she continued.
'[It's important] for young men to be raised with a confidence and sense of self that is going to empower the women around them too.
'So I try to model that behavior, but again, it starts with whatever's going on internally.
'I am able to just tune out whatever that noise is, really not give it any credence.'
Her series With Love, Meghan - which saw her and several of her famous friends in the kitchen as they prepared elaborate recipes and created home decor items - premiered last month on the streaming service.
But it was greeted immediately by negative reviews from critics and viewers alike.
The launch of her company As Ever was also plagued by problems as some customers were left disappointed after their orders were canceled due to overselling.
In addition, it was revealed earlier this week that Meghan has tried to land an A-lister like Beyonce and Taylor Swift for her new female empowerment podcast, which is reportedly already in crisis after just three episodes.
'No one's picking up the phone,' one source close to the production claimed, adding: 'The show is not landing.'
'There's no Taylor Swift. No Beyonce. Not even a Hailey Bieber. And when you're pitching female empowerment, that's a problem.'
'It speaks volumes for her pulling power. She's not happy about her lack of appeal.'
Meghan interviewed Bumble founder Whitney Wolfe Herd on the debut episode of the Duchess of Sussex 's new Lemonada podcast, Confessions of a Female Founder.
Her second instalment was with Reshma Saujani, founder of Girls Who Code, and today's episode was with her friend, hair colorist Kadi Lee, whose company the former Suits star has also invested in.
A source close to the making of the show said she and her team 'dialed all the big names' to join her for 'honest conversations with women who've built from the ground up, faced challenges and kept going.'
But these calls have been quietly ignored, RadarOnline said.
So instead of household names or cultural icons, Meghan is now expected to speak to more friends, influencers and startup entrepreneurs, as she tries to get her own As Ever brand off the ground.
Even so, Meghan insisted at the TIME100 Summit that she's the 'happiest she's ever been.'
'And to have a partner and husband who is so supportive and have healthy kids who are so joyful in the freeness of their life and the safety of their life we created for them,' she added.
'Of all the things that happened I never would have imagined at this point I'd be so happy and free and I really do.'

Hollyoaks star Callum Kerr begs friends of 'murdered mum' not to attend stepdad's funeral

Callum Kerr and his sister Amanda Kerr issued a joint statement today where they said for friends of their mother Dawn Kerr to not attend the funeral of her husband Andrew Searle Hollyoaks and Netflix actor Callum Kerr and his sister Amanda Kerr have issued a blistering statement to urge people not to attend the funeral of their stepdad Andrew Searle. Andrew and his wife Dawn Kerr died earlier this year in France. ‌ The bodies of Andrew, 62, and Dawn, 56, were discovered on February 6 after neighbours became concerned. Tragically, Dawn's body was found lying outside the front door with jewellery scattered around her, whilst furniture was flipped inside the property. ‌ Mr Seale was found hanged with a gag in his mouth and it was initially believed the couple had been attacked in a staged robbery. However detectives later suspected that the husband killed his wife before taking his own life. ‌ Now Callum - who has appeared in Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks and in Virgin River on Netflix - has issued a statement alongside his sister Amanda, where they urged people not to attend the funeral. In a lengthy statement shared online, the pair said: "In the absence of any evidence suggesting third-party involvement in the tragic death of our mother, Dawn Kerr, the prevailing hypothesis remains that of a murder-suicide. Our mother was killed by multiple blows to the head, and Andrew was found deceased by hanging. His injuries are consistent with self-hanging, and no defensive wounds were found on his body. There is also no evidence whatsoever of any third party's involvement at this stage. "While the official investigation is still ongoing, we cannot ignore the circumstances as they stand. For this reason, we must respectfully but firmly request that our mother not be included in any way in the funeral arrangements being made for Andrew. Please do not share photographs of them together." They added: "Please do not attend Andrew's service if you were a friend of our mother. It would be inappropriate for her memory to be associated with a service honouring the man who, based on all available evidence, may have been responsible for her death. We ask for understanding, privacy and respect as we continue to grieve and seek justice for our mum." ‌ Just two years ago, Callum was beside his mother as she tied the knot with Andrew. Sharing photos from the big day online, he wrote: "Not many people can say they walked their own mother down the aisle. What a pleasure!! I love you mum. Congrats to Dawn and Andy on their wonderful wedding day and here's to a tremendous life together for the happy couple." Dawn and Andrew Searle tied the knot in September 2023 and were originally from Musselburgh, East Lothian. The pair had moved from Scotland to Les Pesquies, near Toulouse, southern France, 10 years ago. to start a new life. The pair were retired but Dawn worked from time to time as a project manager and Andrew did freelance financial work. The area where they lived has always been popular with British expats and those who own property abroad and the Searles regularly held dinner parties and gathering for their friends nearby. *If you're struggling and need to talk, the Samaritans operate a free helpline open 24/7 on 116 123. Lily Collins looks effortlessly chic in a leggy black and white polka dot dress as she continues filming Emily In Paris season five in Venice

Lily Collins looked chic as she was spotted filming in Italy on Tuesday for series five of Emily In Paris. The American actress, 36, wore an elegant black and white polka dot dress that showed off her toned legs. She plays fictional character Emily Cooper in the light-hearted Netflix series, which is soon to be releasing another series partly set in Venice where production is now taking place. The mother-of-one added to her filming look with a pair of chunky black leather boots and wore dangly silver earrings. She wore her brunette tresses slicked back and opted for a dark red lip to complete her look. The star carried a large water bottle with her between takes and was seen chatting to crew and on her phone as she took breaks from the scenes. Paris remains a central location for the show, but for this season filming has also taken place in Italy, specifically in Rome and Venice. Emily was left with a decision at the end of series four, as she was offered the position of the lead of the Italian Agence Grateau office. Despite falling in love with Paris and the agency, Emily admitted she was tempted by a new life - with a new man - in Rome. Fans will remember Emily and Gabriel's (Lucas Bravo) romance fell apart after they finally tried to make a go of their relationship after he broke off his relationship with Camille. Following a fake pregnancy scandal, Camille revealed she wasn't actually expecting and Emily and Gabriel tried to work out a romantic future. However, it wasn't meant to be for the star-crossed lovers who were unable to work out their differences and she was pushed into the arms of Marcello, after they met on the slopes of Megève, when she was abandoned at the top of a slope by Gabriel. They crossed paths again at a polo match in Paris and they enjoyed a night out together in the city, which lasted until the following morning when he asked her to come and visit him in Rome. The mother-of-one added to her filming look with a pair of chunky black leather boots and wore dangly silver earrings Paris remains a central location for the show, but for this season filming has also taken place in Italy, specifically in Rome and Venice Emily followed her heart and travelled to meet Marcello, where she was also tasked with acquiring his family's business by her boss Sylvie. However, Emily was reluctant to mix business with pleasure. The pair hit a stumbling block when he learned of her plans to try and secure a professional relationship with his family, who owned a luxury cashmere company, but they eventually managed to iron their issues out. At this point, Gabriel had a candid conversation with Alfie (Lucien Laviscount), who urged him to try and win Emily back, despite previously being romantically involved with her himself. But despite dashing to Rome with the hope of reuniting, Emily was nowhere to be seen as she enjoyed her romantic day out with Marcello. The series is expected to air towards the end of this year, but one of the main characters has revealed they won't be returning. Camille Razat, 31, who plays Camille in the romantic comedy-drama - took to Instagram to reveal the shocking news with an emotional goodbye post after fans fumed at bosses for 'destroying the character'. Camille has played Emily's pal and love rival in the show since the programme hit the streaming service back in 2020. Now, after five years on our screens as Camille, the actress is ready to move on.
