New York Post17-05-2025

Celebrity row was legendary at the Garden during Game 6 of the Knicks-Celtics Eastern Conference semifinals series on Friday, with the Knicks having a second chance to close out the series.
Knicks superfans Spike Lee, Timothée Chalamet, Ben Stiller and Tracy Morgan sat courtside, in addition to the likes of Lenny Kravitz, Jason Sudeikis, Bad Bunny and Giants quarterback Russell Wilson.
Celebrity row is the hottest seat in town, especially during the NBA playoffs — and tickets aren't available for purchase because it's invite only.

'It's the biggest names in the front row,' an insider familiar with obtaining celebrity row seats for their clients told The Post.
'B-list tends to be harder,' the source said.
Cardi B and Stefon Diggs attended Game 4 at MSG, where they appeared to hard launch their relationship with some PDA in their courtside seats.
Chalamet and his girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, and her sister, supermodel Kendall Jenner, were also there.

Former Knicks PR chief and media consultant Joe Favorito told The Post if you don't bleed blue and orange, you're not getting onto celebrity row — no matter how famous you are.
'In Boston, Dana White was sitting with a Celtics jersey — you wouldn't see him in Celebrity Row,' Favorito said. 'You can be sitting other places if you're rooting for the opposing team, but it's not like you're going to get access if you're not wearing orange and blue.'

Report: Boston Celtics seeking first round pick, reduced cap hit in Jrue Holiday trade

Report: Boston Celtics seeking first round pick, reduced cap hit in Jrue Holiday trade The Boston Celtics are widely seen as a team likely to make substantive moves this offseason to get ahead of an unprecedented payroll and tax bill set to hand Boston more money in luxury tax penalties than actual salary. And while there have been but sparse rumbles to that end since the Celtics' season ended at the hands of the New York Knicks in the 2025 NBA Eastern Conference Semifinals, things seem to be heating up on the trade rumor front. Fresh on the heels of a report from the Stein Line's Marc Stein that Boston has been fielding calls regarding veteran guard Jrue Holiday, Hardwood Paroxysm's Matt Moore relates that the Celtics are not just looking for "whatever reduced salary comes back in the deal," but also a first round draft pick. This appears to fly in the face of some reports making the rounds earlier in Boston's offseason that the Celtics might need to attach draft capital to get off of Holiday's substantial remaining salary, but with teams often negotiating through the media at this point in the league calendar, the truth is likely somewhere in the middle. Holiday still has considerable value as one of the best perimeter defenders in the league, and while his offensive game has slipped a bit with age, he can still deliver a punch on that end of the court when his number is called. The UCLA alum is owed $32.4 million next season, $34.8 million in 2026-27, and has a team option for $37.2 million in 2027-28, a substantial financial commitment even considering what Holiday brings as a player in this cap environment. We have heard reporting tying the Boston guard to the Los Angeles Clippers and Dallas Mavericks in recent weeks, and that field might expand further pending what other moves are made (or closed off) as we get closer to the 2025 NBA draft on June 25.

Bucks' Giannis Antetokounmpo Receives Massive Update Amid Trade Rumors

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. The Milwaukee Bucks and Giannis Antetokounmpo have been one of the most talked about storylines in the NBA over the last couple of weeks. Ever since it was reported that he was "open-minded" to be traded by the Bucks, the rumors have been flying. Many different teams have been connected as potential trade destinations. While there is always a chance that a player could get traded in the NBA, a new update has come to the forefront of this particular situation. Cox/Getty Images According to ESPN NBA insider Brian Windhorst, Milwaukee is not looking to trade Antetokounmpo. Windhorst also reported that the superstar forward has not requested any kind of trade from the Bucks. "He has not asked for it. The Bucks are not looking to trade him." This does not mean that Antetokounmpo and Milwaukee won't at least consider a move. He could still make some kind of request or the team might decide to re-tool. That being said, it's much more likely after this report that Antetokounmpo is back with the Bucks for the 2025-26 season and that the team will look to build a better roster around their superstar. During the 2024-25 NBA season, Antetokounmpo helped lead Milwaukee to a 48-34 record and the No. 5 seed in the Eastern Conference playoff picture. The Bucks went up against the Indiana Pacers in the first round and were quickly eliminated in just five games. Throughout the course of the season, the 30-year-old superstar averaged 30.4 points per game to go along with 11.9 rebounds 6.5 assists, and 1.2 blocks, while shooting 60.1 percent from the floor. Keeping him in town and building the roster out different around him would be the best possible outcome for Milwaukee. However, the fact of the matter is that Damian Lillard tore his Achilles in the playoffs against the Pacers and his status for next season is very much up in the air. No one know what the upcoming offseason has in store for the Bucks and Antetokounmpo. This report gives reason for optimism about the two sides sticking together, but things could still change. Pat Riley admits he wasn't sure about drafting Dwyane Wade: "I've always preferred coaching 25 or 26-year-olds"

Pat Riley has left his imprint on the NBA as a player, coach and executive. Still, he has had an even bigger impact on the Miami Heat, playing a big part in each of the organization's three NBA title runs. Pat signed with the Heat in 1995. He spent his first years with the organization developing talents like Alonzo Mourning and Tim Hardaway, who eventually became the franchise's cornerstones. Advertisement Riley stepped down as coach in 2003 and became team president — he passed the baton to assistant coach Stan Van Gundy. That year, the Heat made arguably the biggest decision in franchise history, selecting Dwyane Wade as the fifth pick in one of the most iconic draft classes ever. However, Pat wasn't initially sold on the idea of drafting the Marquette product. "I've always wanted to coach veterans. I've always preferred to coach 25 or 26-year-olds who had some experience. I also never believed that our team was ever going to be bad enough to think we'd get a high pick. But that year we ended up with No. 5, and I was looking at point guards and centers; that's what we needed," he said. "I had guys like Kirk Hinrich, T.J. Ford and Chris Kaman high on our list, and I was interested in them. Dwyane was on there, but at the start of the process, I wasn't sure," Riley added. Miami Heat's finest: Dwyane Wade and his impact Had Pat passed on Wade, that probably would've been the biggest mistake in franchise history. The history would also look very different. Advertisement Wade displayed great potential from the go, helping the team reach the Eastern Conference Finals in his sophomore season. However, the star guard took his game to the next level once Miami acquired Shaquille O'Neal from the Los Angeles Lakers. A year later, Riley returned to coach the Heat and guided O'Neal and Wade to the championship, with the latter putting up one of the best Finals performances in the history of the NBA. Two years later, Riley announced he would step down as head coach while remaining team president. He named Erik Spoelstra as his successor. But Pat still continued his magic. Advertisement In 2010, the Heat signed LeBron James and Chris Bosh to form arguably the greatest Big 3 the NBA has ever seen. They led the franchise to four straight Finals appearances from 2011 to 2014, winning back-to-back titles. This was an emotional moment for the veteran guard, who gave Heat Nation countless moments to cherish during his 16 seasons with them. The final product didn't meet expectations, with fans feeling the Heat did their icon dirty. Aware of the backlash, the legendary guard defended the bronze sculpture, stating it didn't need to look like him. Advertisement Regardless, it was a sign of respect for Wade, who became the greatest Heat player ever. It's crazy to think that he almost didn't join Miami in the first place, and that Riley, who made all the right moves during his time with the organization, could've been the guy behind that decision.
