‘Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion' Gets A Demo, Here Are Some Tips
Following my preview write-up yesterday, Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion has a new demo available on all platforms, containing the first nine chapters of the game. This is entirely a good thing because this demo also means players can team up online. In short, it will allow the development team to stress test the game's network code before the game launches in September, which is obviously a good thing. In addition, one of the reasons I didn't cover the differing performance levels between the versions of the game was that I assumed there would be a demo for everyone to check that out for themselves. Anyway, now that the demo is out, I thought I'd share some tips to get into the game and cut through a lot of the complexity that isn't really explained when you start out. Scan And Scavenge The most important thing you can do in this game is to constantly scan for items in the game world. To do this, you push up on the d-pad, which sends out a pulse that highlights the items you can scavenge (in blue) and enemies (in red). FEATURED | Frase ByForbes™ Unscramble The Anagram To Reveal The Phrase Pinpoint By Linkedin Guess The Category Queens By Linkedin Crown Each Region Crossclimb By Linkedin Unlock A Trivia Ladder Unlike Armored Core, while you can buy parts and weapons from the shop in your base and in colonies around the game world, the vast majority of parts and weapons are scavenged. Moreover, no two parts are the same, so scavenging similar parts will often result in them having different stats. Supply Bases Refill Ammo And Femto For Free You will notice a bunch of supply bases around the world, and you can build your own, too. While you can recover your health, for a cost, the moment you access the Supply Base, it will automatically refill your ammo and Femto for free. You can also upgrade bases with scrap, which reduces the cost to 'recover' your health. Supply Bases also offer a lot of extra functionality that means you don't have to go back to your base every time you want to change your Arsenal or Fusion skills, among other things. Mine The Metal Flowers, Especially The Sparkly Ones There are strange-looking metal flowers dotted all over the game's landscape. You do a little mining mini game to smash them up and get resources. Many of these resources are used to Develop parts and weapons. The sparkly flowers also offer expansion slot upgrades. These are crucial for all parts in the game, as the Attachments you can use can drastically change their potency or even the ability to equip them within your Arsenal's memory limit. Scrap And Femto This game uses Femto a lot more than the first game, and you can resupply that by destroying the red Femto crystals dotted all over the ground. You also have Femto trees that you can stand next to and refill your Femto gauge. The other main resource is Scrap, and these look like purple Bismuth crystals. I cannot stress this enough; scavenge as much Scrap as possible. You will need it to upgrade your base and all sorts of other things. Unlike money, it's rarely given out on missions, so the more scrap you scavenge, the better off you will be. Replay The Boss Fights For Extra Parts The bosses you encounter, both Neun and Colossus, drop parts and other items once killed. However, each of these has multiple drops, so it's a good idea to replay them in the Combat Simulator at the back of your base. This is especially true for the parts you can Develop from the cores of each boss. These Immortal-infused parts and weapons are often extremely powerful, so it's worth mining the bosses for their cores and other items. Ice Cream Offers More Than You Think Going to the Ice Cream shop in your base allows you to give buffs to your character for a limited time. Once you fill out the stamp card and reach the Silver level, it becomes a lot more than just an Ice Cream shop. That should be enough for now, without spoiling anything major. The main thing is to scan, scavenge, and hoard scrap. It will make everything a lot easier as the game progresses in difficulty, as you will have the resources at hand to tackle whatever comes your way. In the meantime, feel free to check out my interview with the game's producer, Kenichiro Tsukuda. Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion will be released on September 5 for Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Follow me on X, Facebook and YouTube. I also manage Mecha Damashii and am currently featured in the Giant Robots exhibition currently touring Japan.

Are Calvin Harris and Miley Cyrus Feuding? He Says…
Originally appeared on E! Online Calvin Harris is putting a wrecking ball to feud rumors. After he made eyebrow-raising comments about a scrapped collaboration with Miley Cyrus, the "We Found Love" producer clarified what he meant by the remarks, insisting that he had no bad blood with her. In a video shared to TikTok Aug. 17, Calvin offered a sneak peek at a collaboration with an unknown female artist called "Ocean," writing in the caption, "I love it." And while some fans were thrilled about his upcoming song's techno sound, others noted that the DJ had previously shared a glimpse at the unreleased track with Miley on vocals. "What happened to the one with Miley?????" one user commented, while another wrote, "I love Miley's version more." In response to the latter comment, Calvin joked, "Tell her," before replying to those questioning where the "We Can't Stop" singer's version was with messages like, "I do not know" and "My bad." But the "This Is What You Came For" artist quickly shut down the rumors, responding, "Nah it was my wires." In fact, Calvin, 41, went on to clear the air about his relationship with the Grammy winner, insisting in a second comment, "I love Miley." As for Miley, she has yet to speak publicly on why her collaboration with the producer may never see the light of day. However, she previously got candid about being selective about what fellow celebrities she keeps in her inner circle. 'I am not very active or a very active part of my community of other artists and entertainers and celebrities,' Miley admitted during a 2024 appearance on David Letterman's My Next Guest Needs No Introduction, adding of attending industry events, 'It just doesn't feel like my people when I'm in that room." However, she noted that she will make exceptions. Case in point: She's maintained a friendship with Beyoncé, who she collaborated with on the 2024 Cowboy Carter track "II Most Wanted." As she put it, 'I'm a part of my community in that way but, again, it's all quality, not quantity." Miley and Calvin may not be beefing, but read on to look back on stars who actually have had public feuds over the years.
