"That was one of the most embarrassing things to ever happen. I can't believe that just happened."
The nine-hole tournament takes place the day before the Players Championship and will be streamed on multiple platforms.
Some of the top content creators in the golf world will get to take on the Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass the day before the Players Championship begins.
The Creator Classic at TPC Sawgrass, the first of three in the season-long creator series announced in January, will be broadcast on the PGA Tour's YouTube channel and other media platforms. The competition will be nine holes and begin the afternoon of March 12 before the PGA Tour's flagship event.
The field features returning participants from the inaugural 2024 event – the Bryan Bros, Fat Perez from Bob Does Sports, Gabby Golf Girl and Roger Steele – plus new participants Grant Horvat, Kyle Berkshire, Tisha Alyn, Chris Solomon from No Laying Up and a Barstool personality who will be determined via qualifier.
The tournament will be eight holes of stroke play, beginning on the par-4 10th hole, and conclude on TPC Sawgrass Stadium Course's iconic island-green 17th, with the top-three finishers advancing to a one-hole sudden death playoff, again on the 17th.
Pairings and tee times will be announced the day before the event.
'There is arguably no better place to kick off our season-long creator series than on The Players Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass, where the iconic 17th hole represents the culmination of this first competition,' Chris Wandell, the PGA Tour's Senior Vice President of Media, said in a release. 'The PGA Tour is intently focused on delivering unique, premium content and experiences like this to our diverse and growing fanbase, all while amplifying the voices of our participating creators.'
Similar to the event in 2024 ahead of the Tour Championship, the competition will be streamed live via the PGA Tour's YouTube channel as well as GolfChannel, ESPN+ and other streaming platforms.
The inaugural Creator Classic at East Lake Golf Club generated more than 2.7 million views on YouTube and was YouTube's No. 2 trending video after the competition, which engaged nearly 60 million golf fans across all social media platforms during a four-week period.
The Creator Classic at TPC Sawgrass will feature live ShotLink powered by CDW scoring/data, Trackman shot tracing – including tracing via drones – and on-screen graphics. The broadcast team will consist of golf media personalities Shane Bacon and Doug Smith, Skratch's Dan Rapaport and golf content creator and influencer Paige Spiranac. Pro Shop Studios, the production company behind the Netflix hit series 'Full Swing' and 'Happy Gilmore 2,' will partner with PGA Tour Studios to run on-ground and broadcast production.
'As the strongest field in golf prepares to compete at the Players Championship, it's surreal to know that a number of golf's most recognizable content creators will walk the same fairways of TPC Sawgrass just one day prior,' Pro Shop co-founder Chad Mumm said in a release. 'We appreciate the collaboration with the PGA Tour in bringing this creator series to life at one of golf's iconic courses to entertain and inspire our fans.'
Fans should buy a Wednesday Stadium Pass if they want to attend The Creator Classic at TPC Sawgrass.
The field and competition format for the final two events in the creator series, which will be contested at the Truist Championship on the Wissahickon Course at The Philadelphia Cricket Club and the Tour Championship at East Lake Golf Club, will be announced at a later date.

Patrick Reed hits the rarest of shots — an albatross — at the U.S. Open

PGA Tour Patrick Reed hits the rarest of shots — an albatross — at the U.S. Open Updated Jun. 12, 2025 4:15 p.m. ET share facebook x reddit link Patrick Reed made only the fourth double-eagle since the U.S. Open started keeping records some four decades ago, dunking in his second shot from 286 yards Thursday on the par-5 fourth hole at Oakmont. The so-called albatross is considered the rarest shot in golf, with only a few hundred being made a year across the world, compared to more than 30,000 holes-in-one. Reed looked stunned after he hit a fairway wood onto the green, watched it bounce three times and then roll toward the hole. Unsure of where the ball went, he raised his palm to the sky, then pointed downward, asking if it went in. The applause up at the green gave him the answer. The 2018 Masters champion joins T.C. Chen (1985 at Oakland Hills), Shaun Micheel (2010 at Pebble Beach) and Nick Watney (2012 at the Olympics) as the only players to make an albatross at the U.S. Open since the event started keeping records in 1983. Bryson DeChambeau's Frustration Boils Over in Rant at U.S. Open

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. It is time for the real showdown! The 2025 U.S. Open has finally begun. Players have spent days grinding through practice rounds, trying to tame Oakmont Country Club's unforgiving setup. But frustration is already boiling over. The sticky greens and brutal rough have tested patience, leaving even the most seasoned golfers visibly rattled. (Photo by) More Getty Images Phil Mickelson, who is possibly playing his last U.S. Open, didn't hold back after Tiger Woods issued a stern warning about Oakmont earlier this week. "They're not working. They're not cutting sh!t," Mickelson said, responding to a post showing the USGA's efforts to mow the rough. But Mickelson wasn't the only one venting. Bryson DeChambeau, the defending champion, was seen struggling too. On Wednesday's practice round, Oakmont confounded the 2-time US Open winner. DeChambeau reportedly missed five and six-foot putts, and even left longer putts short by a good five or six feet. But things got worse at No. 4, his patience snapped. "Call the USGA and have someone out here telling us when it's okay to go," he told the volunteer, clearly frustrated. Oakmont greens are confounding Bryson. He's routinely missing five and six foot putts and even leaving longer putts short a good five or six feet as well. And here on No. 4 he snaps at a volunteer, ''call the USGA and have someone out here telling us when it's okay to go.' 👀 — Pete Pappas (@PGAPappas) June 10, 2025 That's not all, though! According to @PGAPappas on X, "Phil looks exhausted. Bryson looks confused. Rory looks out of it. DJ, Hatton look good (mostly) but erratic." Meanwhile, Dustin Johnson and Tyrrell Hatton showed flashes of brilliance but remained erratic. The post further explained how Jon Rahm, Xander Schauffele, and Collin Morikawa looked sharp. But Scottie Scheffler stands above them all - grinding harder than anyone, practicing smarter, and looking every bit the favorite. This isn't the first time DeChambeau voiced his frustration DeChambeau's latest YouTube video captured just how unforgiving Oakmont is. At the par-3 6th hole, he hit his tee shot over the green and into the thick rough, where his ball disappeared completely. His cameraman struggled to find it. "That is cooked beyond belief," DeChambeau said. "That's more than half-baked there. That's burnt to a crisp." Interestingly, despite the struggles, DeChambeau remains motivated, especially after two major disappointments earlier this year. The LIV Golfer also shared how he is "inspired by Scottie Scheffler." "I would say that the biggest influence career is Ben Hogan, Greg Norman and Tiger Woods," he said. "Tiger Woods pushed the boundaries on what we thought was possible with golf. As time goes on, Scottie Scheffler is an inspiration as well in terms of how well he's playing. I want to play to that level and inspire to play to that level as well." With the 125th U.S. Open officially underway, all eyes are on Oakmont. Will DeChambeau overcome his frustrations and defend his title? An opening round 3-over 73 put him seven shots behind JJ Spaun, who went bogey-free on Thursday. Despite the less than stellar round, DeChambeau remained in a positive mindset afterward. "It was a brutal test of golf," he said. "But one that I'm excited for tomorrow. If I just tidy up a couple things and get some momentum going my way, we'll see where it goes." Scottie Scheffler's U.S. Open Odds Reach Historic Tiger Woods Level

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Scottie Scheffler's extraordinary run since last year has made him the top favorite in almost every tournament he enters. His dominance has become so overwhelming that it has reached levels not seen since Tiger Woods' prime. This is evident in the 2025 US Open, where the sportsbook BetMGM gives Scheffler +275 odds to win. According to renowned analyst Ben Fawkes, these are the highest odds since Woods was +175 for the 2009 edition. "Scottie Scheffler (+275 at @BetMGM) is the biggest favorite to win the U.S. Open since 2009, when Tiger Woods was +175," Fawkes posted on X. Scottie Scheffler (+275 at @BetMGM) is the biggest favorite to win the U.S. Open since 2009, when Tiger Woods was +175, per @SOHistory — Ben Fawkes (@BFawkes22) June 9, 2025 BetMGM gives Scheffler nearly 500 points over the second-best projected seed, Bryson DeChambeau, who has +750 odds. Other sportsbooks estimate the margin to be slightly smaller, though still significant. For example, FanDuel has Scheffler with the best odds at +280, and DeChambeau second-best at +700. Scheffler is having another extraordinary season. He has played in 12 events and finished in the top 25 in each one. His results include three wins (one of which was at the PGA Championship), one second-place finish, and five other top-10 finishes. His form has improved tremendously over the last five weeks, with three wins and a fourth-place finish in four events. (Photo by Kevin C. Cox/Getty Images) More Kevin C. Cox/Getty Images It's no surprise, then, that his status as a sportsbook favorite for the US Open rivals that of Tiger Woods in 2009. That season, Woods displayed some of his most complete dominance on the PGA Tour. The 15-time major winner entered the 2009 U.S. Open after playing seven events. He won two of them and finished in the top 10 in four others. Over the remainder of the season, he racked up four more wins, three second-place finishes, and three more top-10 finishes. However, the 2009 US Open demonstrated that odds aren't everything in professional golf. At Bethpage Black, Woods couldn't recover from a first-round 74 and finished tied for sixth at even par, four strokes behind the winner, Lucas Glover. That's why fans should keep in mind that the battle at Oakmont Country Club will be fierce and enjoy watching the many players who have a good chance of finishing strong at the US Open. 2025 US Open Betting Odds Here are the top 15 players with better odds to win the US Open, according to BetMGM: Scottie Scheffler +275 Bryson DeChambeau +750 Jon Rahm +1200 Rory McIlroy +1400 Xander Schauffele +2200 Ludvig Aberg +2200 Xander Schauffele +2200 Collin Morikawa +2500 Joaquin Niemann +3000 Shane Lowry +3300 Tommy Fleetwood +3300 Justin Thomas +4000 Patrick Cantlay +4000 Sepp Straka +4000 Tyrrell Hatton +5000 More Golf: Tee It Up for Dad: Father's Day Golf Gifts and U.S. Open Gear
