Former Packers star recalls being ‘pretty miserable' during Raiders stint
Davante Adams left the Green Bay Packers to join the Las Vegas Raiders in 2022. However, the move to the Silver and Black didn't go as planned, and the wide receiver would depart last year. Moreover, Adams has recently stated that maybe leaving Green Bay for Las Vegas wasn't the ideal decision. The veteran receiver posted back-to-back seasons with at least 100 catches, more than 1,000 yards, and eight or more touchdowns. However, in his third and final season with the Raiders, the situation went downhill, leading to a trade to the New York Jets to reunite with former Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Still, that move wouldn't work out for Adams, who signed with the Los Angeles Rams this past offseason. On Tuesday, while speaking on ESPN Los Angeles, Adams might have hinted at some regret leaving the Packers for the Raiders, as he was brutally honest about his time in Las Vegas when asked about reuniting with Jimmy Garoppolo on the Rams. MORE:Packers' $1 million team-first player predicted to carve out spot on 53-man roster "It's amazing," Adams said. "I love Jimmy, and it was never a personal thing. I'm surprised this is the first time it's been brought up, but it's been amazing. We got to, you know, catch up and get on the right page. "And obviously, that was just a dark moment in all of our lives. I think all of us were pretty miserable over there, and we kind of caught up and laughed about it. And we've been making plays since we've been out here, so it's been fun." While Adams has experienced personal success since leaving Green Bay, that hasn't translated over to team success. The 32-year-old didn't make the playoffs with the Raiders or Jets and will look to end that trend with a fresh start with Los Angeles as he attempts to become a go-to target for Matthew Stafford this season.
