Warrant out for Clydebank woman involved £6k fake pregnancy scam
Ravette claimed that she was later expecting his child and demanded cash to buy her silence or she would tell his mother.
She also asked for £250 to cover her for items during an apparent week long hospital stay.
Ravette, of Clydebank, West Dunbartonshire, threatened that her cousin would 'go mental' and inflict violence if he did not meet her requests.
The man was eventually so frightened for his safety that he eventually called in the police.
Ravette has now pleaded guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court to extorting a total of £6,350 from the victim, who cannot be identified for legal reasons.
Ravette did not attend court for today's sentencing and a warrant was granted for her arrest.
The pair met on social media app Kik in 2023 and entered into a relationship in April that year.
Ravette and the man had unprotected sex in August 2023.
She claimed days later that she felt "unwell."
Fiscal Amanda Gallagher said: "She told him that she did not have money for a pregnancy test and also asked for cash for new jeans."
The man blocked Ravette but he received a voicemail from her days later.
She told him: "I think you are a coward for blocking me, I am a single mother and I am not going through this again.
"Give me money for a test or help get me a termination."
The man received another voicemail stating: "You better send me money for a termination or a test or I will tell your mum everything."
He then got a message from an unknown number warning him that Ravette was going to visit his mother.
It was also chillingly stated that Ravette knew where he lived as she followed him home one day.
Miss Gallagher said: "After this, the man sent £1,000 to Ravette's bank account.
"He asked her to let him know if she needed more and she said that she did want more money.
"Ravette demanded £1,000 to buy her silence and he sent it.
"She then messaged him to say she was going to hospital for a week and needed money to purchase items so he sent her £250."
Ravette went on to demand even more cash and claimed her 'cousin' was near the man's home.
He took this as a "threat that someone would come to his door and threaten his family."
Further payments were then stumped up.
Ravette requested another £1,000 as her cousin was "about to go mental" but this time the money did not go through.
He got a sinister text from who he reckoned was Ravette's relative which stated: "I know who you are and your family."
The victim was so worried he was willing to hand over more cash, but the transactions were blocked by his bank.

Ravette told him: "I will try and hold my cousin off but if he wanted to do something I won't be able to stop him."
The man contacted the police as he feared for him and his family.
Ravette refused to open the door to officers and was not arrested until a later date.

Anthony Clarke appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court today after he pleaded guilty to four charges of behaving in a threatening and abusive manner. He committed the crimes between September 15 and March 14, 2025. In the six-month period, the 38-year-old was charged three times. The latest incident took place after Clarke was traced by police on Renfrew Street in the city centre. He refused to speak when asked questions and pretended to have a seizure on the ground twice. The Townhead resident then sat up and called officers 'f*****g wasters'. After this, he closed his eyes and acted out another seizure, so an ambulance was called. Paramedics believed he didn't need medical attention but he was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary, where he continued to be aggressive and clenched his jaw. He spoke to officers through gritted teeth and, while sitting in a hospital trolley, he made threatening comments. Clarke referred to the movie Seven, in which a cop discovers the severed head of his wife in a box. He said: 'Have you seen the movie Seven? Open the box. You will be opening the box.' He also told PC Wilson: 'You have never dealt with somebody like me before, you will see. "Let them open the box. You will see it when you get home.' He later admitted faking seizures and added: 'It was worth it.' He was arrested and taken to Cathcart police station. Clarke's lawyer said he turned his life around since and started voluntary work. He continued: 'He appears very different today from the gentleman whom I met, who was in a bad way. He is progressing very well. 'When he reacts, there is no filter. He is working on this matter. "He has mental health issues and his behaviour is the result of a cocktail of prescribed drugs, which he has been taking. 'The impact of his past has weighed on him heavily but he seems to have moved on. His manner has changed and he has not been in trouble since." While acknowledging the charges are serious, the agent also explained Clarke has taken responsibility for his actions and apologises for his conduct. For two charges of aggressive behaviour, Clarke was sentenced to one year of supervision and 120 hours of unpaid work, to be completed within 12 months. For the third charge, he is due to be sentenced in six months. In the final charge, he was admonished.

Glasgow care home fined after resident found dead in car park
77-year-old Hugh Kearnis was a resident at Chester Park home in Kinning Park, Glasgow, and left the building through a fire escape during the early hours of Boxing Day 2022. According to BBC reports, his body was discovered in the car park six hours later despite staff falsely claiming to have checked on him throughout the night. Glasgow Sheriff Court heard that, based on the nature of the guilty plea, the company was not found to have caused Mr Kearin's death. The admission of guilt related to a failure to ensure there was a system in place to confirm the internal fire alarm door was operational. It was stated in court that the company will pay the imposed fine over the next six months. Sheriff Joan Kerr said: "I wish to make it clear that the court recognises that the fine cannot compensate and no fine can be adequate "The court sends its sincere condolences for his loss." The court was told that Mr Kearins had dementia and was considered at risk of "absconding or wandering." A care plan had been implemented requiring staff to check on Mr Kearins every hour. Prosecutor Blair Speed said: "A senior care assistant and a care assistant who had responsibility for his care falsified care records. "They falsely stated that they performed tasks involving Mr Kearins at the time when he was no longer in the care home. "A close observation chart completed by the senior care assistant stated he had checked on Mr Kearins every hour between 2am and 8am. Elderly man found dead in care home car park after staff lied about hourly checks
An elderly resident was found dead in a care home car park after he was able to escape through a fire door. Hugh Kearins, 77, absconded from Chester Park care home in Glasgow's Kinning Park in the early hours of Boxing Day 2022. His body was discovered six hours later, despite staff members' falsified claims that they had checked on him through the night. Oakminister Healthcare Limited – who own the home – pleaded guilty to a breach of health and safety guidelines. Glasgow Sheriff Court was told that due to the nature of the plea of guilty, the company did not cause Mr Kearins' death. Their guilt is in relation to failing to ensure a system of work was in place to make sure the internal fire alarm door was active. The court heard that Mr Kearins suffered from dementia and was at risk of 'absconding or wandering.' A care plan was in place for Mr Kearins to be monitored every hour by members of staff. Prosecutor Blair Speed said: 'At 1am, he made his way into the corridor, opened a stair gate and walked downstairs from the first floor. 'There was an additional gate at the bottom of the stairs, which he descended and was able to get through that gate as well. 'He then walked along the corridor where the internal fire door is located before he exited down another flight of stairs through the external fire door, which brought him out on Lambhill Street.' Mr Kearin's body was recovered by police around 7am next to a van with the care home logo on it. The top half of his body was on a grass area next to a tree while the other half was on a kerb and tarmac area. Mr Speed said: 'A senior care assistant and a care assistant who had responsibility for his care falsified care records. 'They falsely stated that they performed tasks involving Mr Kearins at the time when he was no longer in the care home. 'A close observation chart completed by the senior care assistant stated he had checked on Mr Kearins every hour between 2am and 8am. 'Both carers were unaware that he was not in his room until news of his death became known in the home following the discovery of his body in the car park.' The carers were subsequently dismissed from their employment and are currently under investigation by the Scottish Social Services Council. It is not known who the staff member was who last had access to the internal fire door. Since the incident, the company have implemented a new system where every point of exit and entry is checked at the end of each shift to make sure the alarms are active. An alarm has also been installed at the top of the stairs outside of Mr Kearins' old room, which will alert staff of someone in the area. Mark Moir KC, defending, told the court that the company offers its condolences to Mr Kearins' family. The advocate said: 'He was a much loved resident for many years. 'The company accepts its failings. The reason the door was left unalarmed was because of maintenance work which was being carried out. 'An agency nurse was given a key, and it was not re-activated, and this was why the door was not activated. 'I do not blame the builders in any way – there is a need to ensure the safety of the residents, but this was a background to the matter.' It was revealed that the company's turnover in 2024 was £11,865,534. Sheriff Joan Kerr fined the company £53,750 which will be paid over the course of the next six months. She said: 'I wish to make it clear that the court recognises that the fine cannot compensate and no fine can be adequate 'The court sends its sincere condolences for his loss.'
