HM greetings to Lebanese President
General Joseph Aoun, President of the Lebanese Republic, received at the Republican Palace in Beirut on Wednesday Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidy, Foreign Minister.
During the meeting, Sayyid Badr conveyed greetings of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to President Aoun, along with His Majesty's best wishes of good health and well-being to the President. Sayyid Badr also conveyed His Majesty's wishes of progress and welfare for the Lebanese people, and the Omani-Lebanese relations further growth.
On his turn, the Lebanese President asked the minister to convey his greetings and best wishes to His Majesty the Sultan and the Omani people. He wished the relations between Oman and Lebanon further progress and prosperity.

Iran, US to resume talks in Muscat on Sunday
Tehran, Iran – Muscat is set to host a fresh round of indirect negotiations between Iran and the United States on Sunday, with Oman once again playing the role of mediator. Muscat – His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik on Sunday sent a cable of congratulations to the Custodian of the two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz al Saud of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) and Prince Mohammed bin Salman al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, on the success of haj season. In the cable, His Majesty the Sultan lauded the great efforts exerted by the Saudi government every year in serving the pilgrims and providing all necessary conditions and services for the smooth, safe and easy performance of the haj pilgrimage. Wave of strikes hit Beirut's southern suburbs
BEIRUT: Israeli air strikes pummelled the southern suburbs of Lebanon's capital, sending thousands of people fleeing on the eve of a Muslim feast day and prompting accusations by top Lebanese officials that Israel was violating a ceasefire deal. At least 10 strikes hit Beirut's southern suburbs — a sprawling area known as Dahiyeh — in a wave of bombing that began about 90 minutes after the Israeli military issued evacuation warnings for four sites in the area. It was the fourth time that Dahiyeh has been bombed since a US-brokered truce in November ended a year-long war between Israel and Iran-backed Lebanese armed movement Hezbollah. The ceasefire says Hezbollah must pull all military equipment and fighters out of southern Lebanon. The strikes sent thick plumes of smoke billowing over the district until midnight, according to Reuters footage. Thousands fled, causing traffic gridlock. Most ended up fleeing on foot to relatives' homes and others stayed out in the streets.
