‘Kareena Kapoor is on the same diet since 2007,' reveals dietician Rujuta Diwekar: ‘She has the same dinner four-five times a week'

Indian Express6 days ago
Kareena Kapoor has piqued the curiosity of her fans for her diet over almost two decades now. Ever since she debuted her 'size zero' figure in Vijay Krishna Acharya's 2008 film Tashan, she's had quite a fitness journey. From becoming mother to two sons to now entering her 40s, she's maintained a healthy lifestyle.
Now, her longtime dietician Rujuta Diwekar has revealed that Kareena has been following the same diet, more or less, for 18 years now. Rujuta began working with Kareena while the latter was prepping for Tashan. The dietician even credits Kareena for getting the opportunity to write her first book in 2009 — Don't Lose Your Mind, Lose Your Weight.
That's pretty much been Kareena's diet mantra since then too. In an interview with The Lallantop, Diwekar reveals the breakdown of the actor's diet — 'Dry fruits like almonds, raisins or figs as soon as she wakes up; paratha or poha for breakfast; dal and rice for lunch; cheese toast (sometimes) or mango/mango milkshake (seasonal) for evening snack; and khichdi with ghee/pulao for dinner.'
Diwekar pointed out that if Kareena is on set, she usually prefers rice and dal for lunch because rice is more accessible there. Otherwise if at home, she has roti-sabzi for lunch. Diwekar also said that Kareena prefers to have khichdi with ghee for four to five days a week. Kareena also confirmed the same as the special guest at the launch of Diwekar's new book Mitahara: Food Wisdom From My Indian Kitchen earlier this year.
'My cook is exhausted because I make him make the same food for 10-15 days. Same dal-rice, dahi (curd)-rice. He is like, what am I cooking? But I can be really happy eating khichdi five times a week. It works. It keeps me happy with a dollop of ghee,' said the actor. But she also added that she finishes dinner by 6:30 pm and goes to sleep by 9:30 pm everyday.
'Dinner by 6 pm, lights out by 9:30 pm, morning workouts before the world wakes up,' Kareena said in an interview with The Nod. She added that her friends expect her not to show up for late-night parties and respect her for the same. She prefers spending her last hour watching the Emmy Award-winning show Schitt's Creek on low volume at home.
Kareena claimed that the most 'joyfully ridiculous rumour' she heard about herself is that she eats quinoa and air to maintain her figure. In a conversation with Vicky Kaushal on The Hollywood Reporter India, Kareena confessed their mutual Punjabi love for parathas and claimed she used to have parathas for breakfast even during her size zero training for Tashan in 2007.

At Diwekar's book launch, Kareena revealed she was a chubby kid who'd be comfortable eating a bag of chips. She's come a long way now, but was momentarily concerned when she gained 45 kg after the birth of her second son Jeh in 2021. But she told herself that she has to grow to be comfortable in her skin again.

Miley Cyrus Compares ‘Best Of The Best' Beyonce To Michael Jackson

Miley Cyrus performed a duet with Beyonce at her Cowboy Carter Tour concert at Stade de France, Paris, back in June. Who is Beyonce's biggest fan? Undoubtedly, Miley Cyrus. The 32-year-old American singer sang high praises of Queen Bey, even acknowledging her as a 'top-tier" artist. This came just weeks after Miley performed a duet with Beyonce at her Cowboy Carter Tour concert at Stade de France on June 16. They performed their collaborative song, II Most Wanted. In an interview with Chris Olsen on SiriusXM's TikTok Radio, the Flowers singer spoke about her love for the 35-time Grammy-winning artist. As quoted by People, she said, 'Getting to see her show live, it feels like a moment of where, you know, you talk to someone about getting to see, you know, Prince or someone that's the best of the best, Michael Jackson." Miley talked about Beyonce's personality, telling the host that the 43-year-old is 'exactly what you'd wanna see on and off the stage." Further, noting that Beyonce is filled with 'grace and confidence," she added, 'I think that she deserves to kind of have this queen essence surrounding her constantly, just because I do think it's so fluid between both of her worlds and between the persona and personally, it's always been really well integrated." The Used To Be Young singer shared that Beyonce's stage persona is 'an elevated, kind of eccentric version" of who she is in her daily life. The Wrecking Ball singer further revealed she was first introduced to Queen Bey through her association with Destiny's Child. 'My granddad got me a karaoke machine when I was in like late elementary school. And it came with 'Survivor.' It had like 10 songs built into the machine, and that was one of them," she recalled. Reminiscing about those moments, she shared that her life has been 'such a manifestation." Miley also revealed that the karaoke featured 'The Tide Is High" by Blondie and songs by Debbie Harry, which helped shape her into the person she is now. Back in June, after her performance with Beyonce, Miley commemorated it on her Instagram. She shared a series of stunning glimpses from the show and also penned a heartfelt note of gratitude. '@beyonce to be beside such a humble, gracious, legendary DIVA was a dream come true. Thank you for the opportunity to perform in Paris together & sing our song about friendship," she wrote. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Miley Cyrus (@mileycyrus) She continued, 'To have learned from you & loved you my whole life, & then be standing together in matching gold looks is more than I could've imagined."
