Arrest after reports of group threatened with gun
Staffordshire Police said officers were called at 15:40 BST to Barracks Road in Newcastle-under-Lyme, where they seized a replica firearm.
No-one was injured in the incident, the force said, and a 50-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.
He remains in custody and officers are appealing for anyone with information to get in touch.

England defender Lucy Bronze calls for greater action in 'football and society' to end racial abuse, following a statement from teammate Jess Carter. Bronze has shown support for her England teammate after Carter released a statement on social media, speaking up about the racial abuse she has received online throughout Women's Euro 2025. Carter has said that she hopes her speaking out will help others who receive racial abuse 'deal with it', as the FA and UK Police work to locate the individuals responsible. For Jess herself, she probably wouldn't put it out to the world but it's obviously difficult for her to go through. 'All the players, the FA and the staff are here to support her. We had meetings last night about it and we're all in full support of Jess and for any players going through racial abuse in this tournament. 'We know it's not just Jess as well. It's just disappointing we still have to sit here in this day and age, and to see Jess go through that herself.' England have released a statement announcing that they will stop taking the knee prior to kick-off to show that more needs to be done to stop racial abuse in football. 'The decision was driven by the group and certain individuals more than others,' Bronze added. 'Is the message as strong as it used to be? It's about putting another statement out there to say it is something that's still a problem. 'More needs to be done in football, more needs to be done in society. What that is right now, I don't exactly know. It's something we want to work towards and this is a small step to try to make change. 'I would like to say I'm very confident in our security team and they are whole-heartedly intent on finding the people involved in this. We are working with the police. 'We have very good security who are trying to find the people and hold people to accountable. It's one of the ways we can stop this.'

Car crashes into a barn's roof in Germany, seriously injuring 2
BERLIN — Police in northwestern Germany on Sunday said that several people were injured when a car veered off a road, hit a 7-year-old boy on a trampoline and went flying into a barn roof on its side. Police said that the car first collided with a parked vehicle in the town of Bohmte, broke through a hedge and drove into a garden where it hit the boy.

BERLIN (AP) — Police in northwestern Germany on Sunday said that several people were injured when a car veered off a road, hit a 7-year-old boy on a trampoline and went flying into a barn roof on its side. Police said that the car first collided with a parked vehicle in the town of Bohmte, broke through a hedge and drove into a garden where it hit the boy. The car then went over uneven ground and it was apparently catapulted into the air and ended up crashing into the roof of a neighboring barn about 3 meters (10 feet) off the ground. The boy was seriously injured, the police statement said. The driver was an unidentified 42-year-old man, and his wife was also seriously injured. Their two sons, ages 11 and 12, and a 13-year-old passenger were also on board, who like the driver emerged with minor injuries. Dozens of firefighters, as well as a dozen ambulances and two rescue helicopters were among the emergency services deployed in response. Images from the scene showed rescuers cutting through the roof, and wreckage of a playground that the car ran through. The car had to be removed from the roof with a crane and was carted away by police. An investigation was underway.
