MS Bhaskar On Winning National Award For Parking: ‘This Film Gave Me New Identity'
Bhaskar won his first national award for his role in the Tamil film Parking, which revolves around a car parking dispute between two families living in a twin apartment complex.
Veteran actor Muthupettai Somu Bhaskar, known for appearing in several Tamil films, shared an emotional message after winning 'Best Supporting Actor' at the 71st National Awards for his role in 'Parking'.
Thanking his fans for their support, he said that he will never forget this day. Celebrated for its impactful storyline, 'Parking' received three national recognitions at the 71st National Awards on Friday. The Tamil film also won 'Best Screenplay' and 'Best Tamil Film'.
'This is an unforgettable moment in my life. Acting in the film 'Parking' was a pivotal moment. The film showed how a small fight can have a big impact, and it gave a new identity to my acting. The love I have received from the fans for my performance and the National Award I have now received fills my heart with great emotion," the actor said in a video message, being widely shared on social media platforms.

He also thanked the film's crew and his family for making this success possible. This marked the first national award for the 67-year-old actor. Besides Bhaskar, director Ramkumar Balakrishnan and lead actor Harish Kalyan have also expressed gratitude following the national award wins for 'Parking'. In social media messages, they thanked the team and audience for their support.

'When we were working on the film, we hadn't thought it would get so big… But on the third day of the release, when the film blew up at the box office, we realized it had gone big. I still haven't watched Saiyaara," he revealed. Commenting on the viral videos, Badola didn't hold back: 'By the third or fourth day, the film was being talked about. I saw the euphoria on Instagram. Log jo chudiyaan tod rahe hai, chaatiyaan peet rahe hai (People were breaking bangles and beating their chests). I think the promotions team went a little overboard… putting IV drips. Those people must have been told to give content. Thank god, people didn't get their legs broken and go crawling to see the film." Despite his candid remarks, Badola acknowledged the film's real impact. 'It's okay. We understand promoting the film, but it's good only up to a certain level. However, the film cannot earn so much money just based on Instagram promotions. People have gone and seen the film, and they have loved it," he concluded.
