I tested the HP EliteBook 6 G1q to see if an AI laptop really makes you better at work
Using a three-year-old MacBook as my daily driver, the new HP EliteBook 6 G1q did feel a bit thick and heavy, though it has a stylish design that accommodates more ports and fans than the Apple device has. The silver finish has some understated elegance to it, and the new HP logo does stand out in a crowd.
The 14-inch 1920 x 1200p IPS anti-glare display is clear and bright at 400 nits. It will capture your attention as soon as you open the clamshell because of the vibrant colours. However, if you are planning to use this screen to consume a lot of content, be warned that the speakers are a bit underwhelming. While good for office use cases, for Netflix, you will need to invest in a good pair of headphones.
The keyboard is really practical and great for typing for long hours, as the keys are well spaced out and have a decent amount of travel. The function keys offer you quick access to most aspects of this computer, and there is even an HP programmable key that you can configure to call Co-Pilot or even the HP AI assistant, or any other app of your choice. The trackpad is large and works well. On the side, there are a host of connectivity options, and you can directly link to a large screen using the HDMI port.
Interestingly, this laptop is powered by a Snapdragon X126100 Oryon 2.96 GHz CPU with 32GB RAM. This is one of the few Snapdragon CPUs I have tested, and soon I realised from a performance perspective, at least this is quite like the Macs and can take on AI tasks and multitasking quite easily. The PC stays nimble even with multiple windows open and doing different tasks, staying cool most of the time.
In fact, the AI PC name tag is something that had me really intrigued. Of course, being a Windows PC, there is a copiloteverywhere, helping you achieve more, unlike the Apple devices, where AI is still finding its footing. I could use Co-Pilotfor a lot of tasks, from number crunching to lazily asking for a summary of the Indian Express homepage while browsing on the Edge browser. But that is not the only AI layer here.
There is also the HP AI companion, a full app that lets you do more, all on the device thus offering an added layer of security. For instance, if you are working on a new project, you can create a library here and upload files that you need to analyse, similar to how you make folders on ChatGPT. There is also a performance section that optimises the computer using AI based on your performance; this, I have always thought, should be one of the popular use cases of having AI on a device. Plus, the spotlight tab gives you access to new AI tools that you can use on the device, and are vetted by HP.
Another feature I must mention is Recall, which keeps a snapshot of what you were working on over a period of time. This is handy for people like me, who are constantly multitasking and forgetting to save some of the concepts and projects in the right places. Protected by Windows Hello, which uses the fingerprint scanner or face reader to identify you, this feature, once set up, has a quick rewind button for all your interactions with this computer.
This is among the first Windows devices I have used that does not run out of juice after a full day of work. And even if it does, you can power it back up about 50% with just 30 minutes of charging. Also, you can use the USB-C charger of your phone to power it up in an emergency, though I would not recommend the same in the long run. While using the device, I loved how the settings are now smart enough to recognise what you are trying to do, and there is no need to remember the exact settings you are looking for.
Priced Rs 87,440 onwards, the HP EliteBook 6 G1q is one of the smartest Windows devices you can invest in. I would have preferred a slightly thinner device at this price point. But the nimble AI features more than make up for this stocky build.

Apple iPhone 17 price breakdown: What it might cost in India, US, UK, UAE and more
Apple's iPhone 17 series is coming this September, and we're getting four models: iPhone 17, 17 Pro, 17 Pro Max, and a new one called the iPhone 17 Air . The Pro models are getting a fresh design, new chip, and serious camera upgrades. The Air model is aiming to be Apple's thinnest phone yet. Price tags are going up, though — partly due to rising production costs and trade issues. Apple iPhone 17: Launch timing and estimated pricing Apple is expected to launch the new iPhones between 8 and 11 September, sticking with its usual early-September window. Pre-orders will likely open the same week. The iPhone 17 Pro may hit ₹1,45,000, while the 17 Air could land around ₹90,000. In the US, that's roughly $899 for the Air. This jump is reportedly tied to pricier components and rising tariffs in China. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Victoria Principal Is Almost 75, See Her Now Reportingly Undo Region-wise iPhone 17 expected pricing India: ₹79,900 United States: $899 United Arab Emirates (UAE): AED 3,799 United Kingdom: ~£849 European Union (Germany, France, etc.): ~€1,019 Australia: ~AUD 1,599 Canada: ~CAD 1,199 China: ~CNY 6,499 Japan: ~JPY 129,800 Singapore: ~SGD 1,429 iPhone 17 Pro: Fresh design, faster chip, smarter cameras The iPhone 17 Pro is getting a redesigned rear camera setup, switching to a horizontal layout with three lenses in a triangular layout. The flash and LiDAR sensor are shifting to the side. It's the first major camera layout change since the iPhone 11 Pro. Live Events Under the hood, you'll get the A19 Bionic chip (likely built on a 2nm process), 12GB of RAM, and a new vapour chamber cooling system to keep things cool under pressure. It'll run iOS 26 out of the box. Apple's also giving the cameras a serious boost — all three rear sensors will be 48MP, including ultrawide and telephoto. You'll be able to shoot 8K video, and the front camera is jumping from 12MP to 24MP for sharper selfies and FaceTime calls. Colour options are rumoured to include black, silver, grey, dark blue, and a new orange-copper tone. iPhone 17 Air: Thin, light, minimal The iPhone 17 Air is where things get interesting. It could be just 5.5mm thick — thinner than any iPhone before. Apple's using a titanium-aluminium blend for strength without the weight, and the phone may weigh just 145 grams. It'll feature a 6.6-inch OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate (but no adaptive ProMotion). To save space, there's just one rear camera — a single 48MP lens — though the front still gets the upgraded 24MP shooter. The rear design follows the same horizontal bar style as the Pro models. Battery life will take a hit. The battery is rumoured to be around 2,800mAh, but Apple's said to be working on a smarter 'Adaptive Power Mode' in iOS 26 to help make it last. This isn't a small refresh. Apple's reworking its design language, pushing camera tech further, and trying to define what a high-end iPhone can be — while also introducing a thinner, lighter model that doesn't feel cheap. But it's also clear that prices are going up. If you're planning to upgrade, expect to pay more — and get more, at least on the Pro side. More details should drop closer to the September event.

Apple iPhone 17 Air battery leaks: Check out the expected specifications, price, launch date, and more
iPhone 17 Air battery leaks: iPhone 17 Air battery leak has sparked renewed debate as fresh reports suggest the ultra‑slim model may sacrifice battery capacity for design, clocking in at a mere 2,800 mAh compared to its Pro siblings. Apple's 'Air-first' strategy echoes in its featherweight, 5.5 mm body, reminiscent of the MacBook Air's mantra: lighter is better. While early adopters may applaud the sleekness, reviewers caution that the trade‑off could be shorter screen‑on time unless iOS 26 optimisation steps in. As a potential battery‑case accessory stirs speculation, the question looms: Can elegance coexist with endurance? Stay tuned as we explore how iPhone balances minimalism with practical performance in its boldest iPhone to date. iPhone 17 Air launch date in India (Expected) The iPhone 17 Air and the other phones in the series will launch globally and in India on September 8 or September 9, 2025, according to well-known Apple expert Mark Gurman. iPhone 17 Air battery leaked According to a MacRumors rumor, the iPhone 17 Air might have a battery with a capacity of less than 3,000 mAh. According to certain rumors, a 2,800mAh battery might be included in the next lightweight smartphone. That is a lot less than the 4,674mAh battery in the iPhone 16 Plus, which the Air is supposed to replace, if this is accurate. The iPhone 17 Air's reduced battery may be due to a number of factors. According to reports, the iPhone 17 Air is only 5.5 mm thick, which means there isn't much space for a bigger battery. Additionally, it has been alleged that Apple is using iOS 26's Adaptive Power Mode to extend battery life during the day. Compared to 80–90% for other models, internal testing indicates that only 60–70% of users will be able to use the device for the entire day without needing to recharge. Additionally, rumors have it that Apple is working on a specific battery cover for the iPhone 17 Air. The add-on would prolong battery life while preserving the device's elegant design. iPhone 17 Air specifications in India (Expected) Apple will provide a thin chassis for this device, starting with the design. According to rumors, it will surpass the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge as the thinnest smartphone. Aside from that, it will sport a single-sensor camera island at the rear that resembles the Google Pixel. Additionally, according to leaks, the device would have a titanium frame. A 6.9-inch LTPO Super Retina XDR OLED screen with a refresh rate of 120 Hz may be included with the iPhone 17 Air. In the base model, the tablet will be powered by an Apple A19 CPU with 128GB of internal storage and 8GB of RAM. The gadget will have a single 48MP rear camera that can capture some of the best images in a variety of lighting scenarios. Additionally, Apple plans to replace the 12MP selfie camera seen in the iPhone 16 series with a 24MP one throughout the iPhone 17 series. iPhone 17 Air price in India (Expected) In addition, the device's likely price in the Indian market will be around Rs 99,900. On the other hand, there is no formal confirmation of the price.

Netflix admits using Gen AI for one of its shows to cut costs
Netflix has used visual effects powered by generative artificial intelligence (AI) in one of its original TV shows for the first time, signaling the company's growing adoption of AI in content creation. During a call with investors last week, Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos revealed that the Argentine series The Eternaut, which premiered in April, features 'the very first GenAI final footage to appear on screen in a Netflix, Inc. original series or film.' 'The creators wanted to show a building collapsing in Buenos Aires. So our iLine team which is the production innovation group within Scanline, Netflix's in-house visual effects studio partnered with the show's creative team using AI-powered tools,' Sarandos explained. 'That VFX sequence was completed 10 times faster than it would have been using traditional visual effects tools and workflows. And the cost of producing it through conventional means would simply not have been feasible for a show with that budget.' He emphasised that generative AI enabled the production team to deliver certain sequences faster and at a lower cost. However, the use of generative AI in content creation has sparked a mixed response in the entertainment industry. Critics argue that it can create content using others' work without their consent and fear it could replace human jobs. AI was a major point of contention during the 2023 Hollywood writers' strike. Under the new agreement, studios are prohibited from using AI to write or edit scripts that have already been written by a human writer. Sarandos previously stated that Netflix's use of generative AI will not interfere with its commitment to 'telling great stories.' Tools like OpenAI's Sora and Google's Veo 3 have intensified concerns in the industry, as they allow users to generate Hollywood-quality footage from simple text prompts raising fears about job security and creative livelihoods. Netflix has plans to introduce interactive ads powered by generative AI during shows and movies for ad-tier subscribers starting in 2026. The Eternaut is Argentina's most ambitious sci-fi series. The production is based on the Eisner Award-winning graphic novel The Eternaut (El Eternauta), written by Héctor G. Oesterheld and illustrated by Francisco Solano López. The comic was originally published in installments from 1957 to 1959, and later released as a single volume in 2015. When the show debuted earlier this year, The Eternaut quickly topped Netflix's global Top 10 for non-English-language series. It also broke into the overall Top 10 in several countries, including the US, Brazil, France, Germany, and Spain. A second season of The Eternaut has already been confirmed
