‘Sell him at half time' – Arsenal fans furious at struggling star and demand Mikel Arteta makes urgent signing

An exclusive SunSport report revealed Arsenal are likely to be left disappointed in their hunt for one star FUMING FANS 'Sell him at half time' – Arsenal fans furious at struggling star and demand Mikel Arteta makes urgent signing ARSENAL fans demanded that Gabriel Martinelli be sold at HALF-TIME of their clash against Villarreal. Martinelli, 24, was named in the starting XI for Mikel Arteta's Gunners as they took on their Spanish rivals in a friendly at the Emirates. The Brazilian was named at left wing to partner Bukayo Saka and new signing Viktor Gyokeres in attack. However, he did not enjoy the most fruitful half of football in his career, much to the dismay of the Emirates faithful and watching Gooners around the world. This was highlighted by him losing a number of duels in the first half. And Arsenal fans, who had been left frustrated by the lack of attacking additions prior to Gyokeres' arrival - with only the divisive move of Noni Madueke coming in, demanded action was taken to land a new left winger ASAP. A second said: "It's 15 minutes. Martinelli already lost balls 4 times while in attack. How much do we need to pay him if we just terminate his contract? This is unacceptable." Another said: "Gyokeres saw half an hour of Martinelli on the left and decided he would do it instead." A fourth added: "Gyokeres goes to the left wing and immediately makes more of an impact than Martinelli. My goodness we need a LW." The Martinelli comments came with the Gunners losing to their Spanish rivals following goals from former Arsenal flop Nicolas Pepe - who bizarrely refused to celebrate - and Karl Etta Eyong. Despite the criticism levelled at him, Martinelli was actually the man to provide a spark to Arsenal's attack when he lifted a corner to the far post for Christian Norgaard to head home in the 36th minute. After an uneventful second half for the winger, Martinelli was eventually replaced by Madueke in the 76th minute. Arsenal open their season with a trip to Old Trafford to face Manchester United, who appear to be on the brink of landing former Gunners transfer target Benjamin Sesko. In the market they remain linked with Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze, although as SunSport exclusively reported earlier this week, he and team-mate Marc Guehi look likely to stay with the Eagles. 6 6 Advertisement TRANSFER NEWS LIVE - KEEP UP WITH ALL THE LATEST FROM A BUSY SUMMER WINDOW

Moment that caused F1 team to boycott Sky Sports revealed as Lance Stroll has X-rated meltdown at British GP

There is hope a resolution will be found after positive talks Fury road Moment that caused F1 team to boycott Sky Sports revealed as Lance Stroll has X-rated meltdown at British GP THIS is the X-rated moment that sparked a stunning Aston Martin BOYCOTT of Sky Sports Germany. Last weekend it was revealed by Ralf Schumacher that the Silverstone-based Formula One team was refusing to do interviews with the broadcaster. Advertisement 3 Ralf Schumacher revealed an Aston Martin F1 boycott against Sky Sports Germany following unbalanced media coverage Credit: Alamy 3 It came following Schumacher's demand for Lance Stroll to apologise after swearing about his car at the British Grand Prix Credit: Shutterstock Editorial This had come after the former F1 star had demanded Lance Stroll apologise to his engineers after he blasted the car as the "worst piece of s*** I've ever driven in my life" following the British Grand Prix. Stroll, 26, had enjoyed a strong run to P7 in the chaotic race despite qualifying down in P18 the day before. Schumacher, 50, had said: "I have to say, this statement is very disappointing, and quite honestly, it's a question of manners. You have to imagine the public perception of it. "The mechanics who work day in, day out so that the two of them can race - and then the boss's son comes along and says: 'Wonderful, and with such a s*** car'. It's unspeakable and doesn't indicate a good upbringing. "I really don't know what film he's living in, but it's a shame to ruin his own result like that. Dear Lance, apologise to the team." The German's comments were the straw which broke the camel's back regarding Aston's feelings about their coverage being unbalanced before banning interviews with them. While this move is not a blanket ban, one-on-one style interviews between team members and the organisation have been ruled out over the feeling of biased coverage. Advertisement BEST ONLINE CASINOS - TOP SITES IN THE UK Schumacher had revealed the ban before the race at the Hungarian Grand Prix, adding: "I know they're not giving us any more interviews because they don't like us that much at the moment." His colleague Peter Hardenacke added: 'We were a bit too critical of the people at Aston Martin.' Toto Wolff defends F1 driver Lewis Hamilton after 'useless' comments Sky are still free to speak to the team's drivers in the TV pen on Saturdays and Sundays and senior leadership on Friday, but had seldom shown much interest in doing so. Advertisement SunSport understands Sky Germany were denied several exclusive interview chances at the Hungarian Grand Prix, and access will continue to be limited until the team see an improvement in coverage. However, positive talks have taken place and it is hoped a resolution will soon be reached between the team and broadcaster, who are said to have admitted some of their comments and coverage were too harsh. SunSport have contacted Sky Germany for further comment. Following the Hungarian Grand Prix, the F1 season is now entering its summer shutdown. Advertisement The next races in the calendar are now not scheduled until the end of August in Max Verstappen's home race of the Dutch Grand Prix. McLaren duo Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris lead the drivers championship with just nine points separating them, with current top dog Piastri trailed by Verstappen by a staggering 97 points. Aston Martin pair Fernando Alonso and Stroll sit P11 and P12 in the standings with 26 points apiece, propping the team up to sixth in the constructor's. 3
