Franz Ferdinand formed in Glasgow in 2002
The band, formed in Glasgow in 2002, are also playing a gig in their hometown in August at SWG3 Galvanisers Yard.
A post on the GigsinScotland website revealed the details for the gigs - August 13 in Glasgow and February 24 next year in Dundee.
The advert read: 'Ever since their beginnings, throwing illegal parties in condemned Glasgow buildings, Franz Ferdinand have been defined by a fresh, unfading, forward-facing outlook.
'A transgressive art-school perspective, but with a love of a big song.
'A big riff. A big idea. Somewhat contrary. Unafraid to dance.
'Unafraid to think. Unafraid to fear.
'Their sixth studio album, The Human Fear, courses with an energy that makes you feel very much alive.
'Fear makes you feel alive. Awake. A life without fear is a life asleep.
'Fear is what shows us our humanity. It's why we search for it in horror films or extreme physical activities.
'The most life-defining moments are shaped by fear: acknowledging, accepting, or overcoming it.'

It comes after the show was 'axed' following the death of co-creator Simon Carlyle LABOUR OF LOVE Two Doors Down Christmas spoiler leaked as exciting pics reveal major plot twist Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) TWO Doors Down is set to deliver a new neighbour this Christmas — as telly couple Alan and Michelle become parents. The 'secret' plotline leaked after Joy McAvoy, 43, was seen on set with screen partner Graeme 'Grado' Stevely, 37 — and a baby bump. Smith in costume as foul-mouthed neighbour Christine Credit: Steve Welsh We told how the BBC sitcom's cast reunited in Hamilton last week for the first time in two years to film scenes for their festive special. And our Two Doors Down photos show Joy sporting a large prop bulge underneath her maroon top as she meets up again with Grado, who is wearing a tracksuit and trainers. A telly insider said: 'Bosses were desperate to keep Michelle and Alan's baby joy under wraps but the cat's out of the bag now. 'The last series had left viewers on the edge of their seats after Alan popped the question in Vegas.' It was feared we'd seen the last of the Latimer Crescent crew when the show's co-creator Simon Carlyle died in August 2023, aged 48. But we exclusively revealed in March that fellow writer Gregor Sharp, 54, had penned a one-off episode. The BBC was asked for comment. Elsewhere on location, Elaine C. Smith - who plays foul-mouthed Christine - arrived in sandals, black trousers, white jumper and dark shades. Arabella Weir and Alex Norton were all smiles as they bring back put-upon neighbours Beth and Eric. Grado was seen beaming as he greeted locals and posed for photos with some fans of the award-winning series. Meanwhile, Doon Mackichan reprises her role as permanently sozzled neighbour Cathy. Gregor Sharp, who has written the new Christmas special, said: 'It's really exciting to be revisiting Latimer Crescent with all the regular cast for this new episode. "Christmas is a time for getting together with friends and family and then becoming low-level irritated by them, so it feels like they're the perfect group to celebrate the season with.' BBC director of comedy, Jon Petrie, added: 'There's something comforting about having the neighbours round for Christmas, even if they bring minor chaos." 7 Much-loved Two Doors Down creator Simon Carlyle tragically passed away 7 A Two Doors Down Christmas spoiler has been leaked revealing a major plot twist Credit: BBC

I've hung out with Oasis - the Gallagher brothers say Scots fans got them signed
Daily Record music editor and entertainment writer John Dingwall recalls meeting both Gallagher brothers before - and after - their infamous split. Oasis may have been made in Madchester, but Liam Gallagher says Scots put them on the road to fame. Once the historic trio of Oasis 25 dates conclude at Edinburgh's Murrayfield Stadium they will have been seen by 200,000 ecstatic fans. But having rubbed shoulders with Liam and big brother Noel on numerous occasions, it's clear they never forget where it began. Before the reunion, Liam told me: 'It's all your fault that we got signed. Blame it on the Glaswegians.' Liam and I met in Glasgow's Radisson Blu hotel in 2013. He referred to the 1993 King Tut's gig where Scots music mogul Alan McGee discovered Oasis and signed them to Creation Records. "All I know is that we were rehearsing with a girl band called Sister Lovers at the Boardwalk [in Manchester] and they said they were going up to support some band,' Liam said. "I think it might have been 18 Wheeler. Sister Lovers suggested we come up and see if we could get a gig, so we were like, 'All right, cool'. "We got a splitter van, jumped into it with a couple of mates and drove up to Scotland. We had a nice day." Oasis wanted a slot on the bottom of the bill but had to plead for the chance to play live. Liam said: "As far as I can remember the geezer was going, 'Who the f*** are you lot? You're not going on'. "There was no fighting or us threatening to burn the building down or anything. "We just said, 'Come on, mate, just let us go on as soon as the doors open'. That was it. 'I said, 'We're cool as f***'. There might have been a bit of an argument, but we weren't there telling him we were going to give him a paper cut or anything like that. "I said, 'Come on, man. We're doing I Am The Walrus, we can't be that bad'. "That got said and he let us go on." Having seen around a dozen Oasis shows from Irvine Beach to Loch Lomond to Maine Road and the infamous bust-up at Glasgow's SECC when Liam walked off due to a plastic bottle having been thrown onstage, Liam wasn't surprised I hadn't made it along to King Tut's. 'It was like Knebworth, wasn't it?' Liam joked. 'In reality, there was nobody there when we played except for Alan McGee. 'There was nobody there for 18 Wheeler either.' He says he didn't even know McGee was in the audience to send their career trajectory supersonic. "He was there, but I had never even heard of Alan McGee," he said. "I'd never even heard of Creation Records, because none of my favourite bands were on the label. "When we came backstage, some guy with ginger hair asked us if we wanted a record deal. "We were like, why not? We went down to London and did the deal." As far back as 2013, he knew Oasis would 'definitely maybe' reform despite not being on good terms with his big brother. He was encouraged by the fact his idol, Stone Roses' singer Ian Brown had told me, 'If I was in the gutter and my kids lived on the kerb, I'd get a job in B&Q before I'd reform the Roses.' That quote went around the world, but the Roses subsequently got back together in 2011. Liam said: "What the Stone Roses said about never reforming is what you say when you are still hurting. "It's what Noel said, and is what I've said about Oasis. "It's what you say when you are still p***ed off with someone, but you can change your mind." Referring to the feud that led to Oasis splitting in 2009, he added: "It wasn't a big thing for me. I've had bigger arguments with my toenails.'

Love Forever: Oasis fan proposes to stunned girlfriend during Murrayfield show
Oasis's opening night at Murrayfield was a magical night for thousands, but it was even more special for two Scots who got engaged. Dwayne Yuill shocked his girlfriend, Shell Hodge, when he got down on one knee during their favourite Oasis song at the band's first comeback gig in Scotland on Friday. The moment was captured on camera, which was all part of the 38-year-old's plan. 'Obviously, we got to the venue and Shell had no idea what was going to happen, so I told one of the stewards when I was going to propose and asked if they could capture it for us,' he told STV News. Shell Hodge Dwayne Yuill and Shell Hodge during the show at Murrayfield. The couple, from Dundee, got tickets for the band's first Scottish show in over 16 years to celebrate Shell's 40th birthday, but she had no idea what else Dwayne had planned. 'I had no idea, I thought he was acting a little bit shifty, he kept touching his pocket, and I was wondering what he was doing, and I obviously know now,' Shell said. Despite the plan being executed to perfection, Dwayne said he didn't plan for how much their proposal has blown up online. Shell Hodge The couple have been together for six years. 'We were in Starbucks and our phones just started blowing up with tags, so we had a mad dash to tell our family before they saw it online,' Shell said. The pair, who share a daughter and have four children from previous relationships, said they have both always had a special connection to Oasis. Shell has been a fan from a young age, and Dwayne was introduced to the band by his late brother. Dwayne added that it felt like his brother was with him, watching down on him during the night as he geared up to pop the question. As for choosing the perfect song, Dwayne said it was the lyrics that made him propose during Slide Away. 'We've had a lot of good memories to that song, and it's one we're always singing in the car,' Shell added. Dwayne added that choosing the song meant he had to wait until Oasis decided to play it. 'I was more nervous the closer I got, I didn't have the set this so I was just waiting for it to come on, and I didn't know when it was going to be coming,' he said. 'When the song was over and the proposal was done, I felt like I could relax.' While the couple has yet to start wedding planning, they both know what the first dance song will be. 'I think people will be disappointed at this point if we don't have Slide Away as our first dance song,' Shell added. 'Bucket hats will be compulsory on the big day.'
