The Walking Dead star and US actress Kelley Mack dead at 33
Mack, who was the star of popular shows The Walking Dead and Chicago Med, died on August 2, in her hometown of Cincinnati, according to her family.
Kelley had been battling with glioma of the central nervous system.
Glioma is a tumor that forms in the glial cells of the brain and spinal cord, according to the Cleveland Clinic.
Mack was best known for her work in television, playing Addy in season nine of The Walking Dead.
She also portrayed Penelope Jacobs in season eight of Chicago Med.
'It is with indelible sadness that we are announcing the passing of our dear Kelley,' her family wrote in a post shared to her Instagram account.
'Such a bright, fervent light has transitioned to the beyond, where we all eventually must go.
'Kelley passed peacefully on Saturday evening with her loving mother Kristen and steadfast aunt Karen present.
'Kelley has already come to many of her loved ones in the form of various butterflies.
'She will be missed by so many to depths that words cannot express.'
Previously, Mack explained she first noticed symptoms of her illness in September 2024.
The actress remained defiant on Instagram, after her diagnosis.
'I am determined and know that this will eventually be a short chapter in my long book,' she wrote, when explaining it.
'The positivity, love and prayers that are being sent my way already is overwhelming and I feel it all. Thank you so much.'
The actress was a graduate of Hinsdale Central High School, finishing in 2010.
After discovering an early love of film, she went on to get a bachelor's degree in cinematography from the Dodge College of Film at Chapman University in 2014.
She later earned an acting award from the Tisch School of the Arts for her role in The Elephant Garden.
She also won the Student Visionary Award in 2008 at the Tribeca Film Festival for the same film.

Perth salon boss forced to defend Yungblud interaction
Prominent Perth salon owner Sharlene Lee has gone viral after sharing a video of her meeting up with UK rockstar Yungblud in Italy. The Circles of Hair owner shared a video on social media that showed her catching up with the global superstar while both happened to be visiting Capri at the same time. The English singer was celebrating his 28th birthday at a lunch next to Lee, but found time to give the popular Subiaco and CBD hair salons a quick shout to Lee's friends and family back home. 'Circles of Hair is the best salon in the f***ing world,' he said in her video shared to TikTok and Instagram. The pair acted in an excited, hyped manner as they both yelled and wooed before Lee said: 'This guy is a legend.' 'You're young blood and I'm old blood,' she played on his stage name. Yungblud's ex Jesse Jo Stark also featured in the video with the former lovers seen leaving in a speedboat together while waving goodbye to Lee. The video has received more than 88,000 views on TikTok, with people taking to the comments with mixed reactions about the clip. Some viewers called out Lee for 'outing' Yungblud and Jesse. 'The way this lady just unintentionally outted him and Jesse Jo when they've been keeping everything private and lowkey,' one person said. Another person said: 'Was he with Jessie Jo????
