'Israel' strikes Syria's presidential palace, military HQ, defense ministry

Roya News4 days ago
'Israeli' forces conducted airstrikes in Damascus targeting key government buildings, including the presidential palace, headquarters of the Syrian General Staff, and the Ministry of Defense, 'Israeli' Channel 12 reported.
'Israel' launched strikes Tuesday against Syrian government forces in the Druze-majority region of Suwayda, claiming it was acting to protect the minority.
Damascus had deployed troops to Suwayda after clashes between Druze fighters and Bedouin tribes killed more than 100 people.
'Israel' announced its strikes shortly after Syria's defence minister declared a ceasefire in Suwayda city, with government forces having entered the city in the morning.
While most Druze religious leaders supported the deployment, at least one senior figure called for armed resistance.

Syrian Coast Investigation Committee Concludes Work, Submits Report to President Al-Shara' - Jordan News

Syrian President Ahmad Al-Shara' received on Sunday the final report of the Independent National Committee tasked with investigating the events that took place along the Syrian coast in early March. اضافة اعلان According to a statement from the Presidency, the committee was established to ensure that Syria moves forward on a path in which no violations or attempts to obscure the truth become part of its future—whether related to the coastal events or any other incidents from north to south. The Presidency expressed its appreciation for the committee's sincere efforts and confirmed it will carefully and thoroughly review the findings in the report. The goal is to take steps that will promote truth, justice, accountability, and help prevent future violations, as part of the broader process of building a new Syria. Affirming the Syrian people's right to the truth, the Presidency requested that the committee consider holding a press conference to present its work and main findings. The briefing should be held as soon as practically possible, in a way that preserves the dignity of victims, respects judicial procedures, and protects evidence, as reported by the official news agency SANA. The committee was formed in March, following tragic violent events on the Syrian coast, where remnants of the former regime allegedly attacked security forces, leading to chaos and numerous casualties.

33 Palestinian Journalists Martyred in Gaza and the West Bank Since the Start of 2025 - Jordan News

The semi-annual report on press freedoms, issued Sunday by the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate, revealed that Israeli forces killed 33 journalists from the beginning of 2025 until the end of June. The report documented a total of 739 violations against journalists in both the West Bank and Gaza Strip during the same period. اضافة اعلان Mohammad Al-Lahham, Head of the Syndicate's Freedoms Committee, emphasized during a press conference in Ramallah that the report sheds light on the deteriorating state of journalism amid ongoing massacres against the Palestinian people in both regions, and the escalating Israeli crimes targeting journalists. Al-Lahham stated that the first half of 2025 witnessed a major escalation in attacks on journalists, with 41 of their family members killed, 32 homes demolished, and 66 journalists injured, mostly by live ammunition or missile shrapnel. He stressed that these attacks have become increasingly brutal compared to last year, with assaults occurring even in shelters, tents, and hospitals—clear evidence, he said, that targeting journalists is a deliberate political decision. The report also recorded the arrest of 25 journalists, an alarming rise in direct gunfire incidents, and a drop in tear gas-related injuries, replaced by more severe wounds from bullets. Furthermore, there were 228 documented cases of journalists being detained or prevented from covering events, reflecting a systematic policy of information suppression. Al-Lahham affirmed that freedoms are indivisible: 'Journalists in Gaza are being killed, while their colleagues in the West Bank face settler terrorism and attacks by occupation forces,' citing the brutal beating of journalist Issam Al-Rimawi by settlers as a recent example. He commended the Palestinian Bar Association for pursuing legal documentation of Israeli crimes against journalists, and praised its collaboration with the General Union of Palestinian Writers and Authors. For his part, Nasser Abu Baker, head of the Journalists Syndicate, noted that the Freedoms Committee regularly issues monthly, semi-annual, and annual reports documenting violations against journalists in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip. He stressed that the syndicate remains a guardian of press freedoms and will continue to support journalists, particularly in Gaza. He highlighted the urgent appeal launched by the syndicate on behalf of Gaza's journalists and people, who continue to face famine and genocide, all while fulfilling their reporting duties amid relentless bombardment and deprivation of basic needs. Abu Baker called on the international community to act immediately to save more than two million people in Gaza, who are suffering from starvation, thirst, and slow death, including the journalists who persist in their coverage despite genocidal conditions. He urged the media worldwide to ensure the broadest possible coverage of the genocide and starvation affecting the more than two million besieged Palestinians in Gaza, describing the situation as unprecedented in modern history. Finally, he noted that the committee's reports serve as essential references for the International Federation of Journalists and other global media organizations, and are submitted to relevant UN bodies to expose Israel's crimes, demand accountability, and seek international justice.

Jordan at Cairo Conference: Israel Continues Policies to Judaize Jerusalem and Alter Its Demographic Composition

Jordan participated in the 113th session of the Conference of Supervisors of Palestinian Affairs in Arab Host Countries, represented by Eng. Rafiq Khirfan, Director General of the Department of Palestinian Affairs. The meeting was held at the headquarters of the League of Arab States in Cairo. اضافة اعلان Khirfan affirmed that Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, continues its strong support for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) and rejects any attempts to undermine its mandate or reduce its services, emphasizing that supporting the agency is an international responsibility that must not be abandoned. He referred to King Abdullah II's consistent calls in international forums highlighting the agency's central role in maintaining regional stability and safeguarding the rights of Palestinian refugees. Khirfan reiterated Jordan's firm and unwavering stance in support of the Palestinian cause and the rights of the Palestinian people, who have endured severe violations by the Israeli occupation for over 600 days and are currently facing an unprecedented humanitarian disaster. He added that Israel, as the occupying power, continues its systematic efforts to Judaize Jerusalem, alter its demographic structure, and impose full control over the Al-Haram Al-Sharif, in a blatant violation of the Hashemite Custodianship over the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, a role internationally recognized and upheld by His Majesty the King. Khirfan pointed out that UNRWA has suffered grave violations at the hands of the Israeli occupation, including the targeting of dozens of its facilities in the Gaza Strip—especially schools sheltering displaced civilians—resulting in hundreds of casualties, including women and children, and the death of over 317 UNRWA staff members. In the West Bank, the agency faces escalating challenges due to Israeli measures aimed at undermining its legal presence, particularly in occupied Jerusalem. He also highlighted that UNRWA is currently facing a severe funding crisis due to the suspension of contributions by several donor countries, coupled with an organized political campaign seeking to delegitimize it, posing a direct threat to its ability to continue providing essential services to over 5.9 million Palestinian refugees. Khirfan stressed the importance of enhancing Arab and international coordination among host and donor countries to ensure the renewal of UNRWA's mandate at the UN General Assembly without amendment or restriction, while also emphasizing the need to respect the sovereignty of host countries regarding educational curricula, in coordination with UNRWA. The conference discusses multiple critical issues related to the Palestinian cause, including the ongoing aggression on Gaza, the separation wall, settlement expansion, the status of Palestinian refugees, and UNRWA's operations and financial situation.
