This year's line-up has revealed another round of eclectic entertainment, with schedule gaps hinting at more surprise appearances still to be announced during the festival weekend.
Highlights for 2025 include Bongo's Bingo parties, Drag-aoke with Miss Lola Fierce, and a live recording of the Who Agrees? podcast with Paul Black and Kendra McPherson.

Outlander's Caitriona Balfe worlds away from Claire Fraser in new film role

The Irish actress has transformed for her new movie Outlander actress Caitríona Balfe looks completely different in her exciting new film role. after it was confirmed she was also starring in a historical drama and the final scene of her Starz series was teased. ‌ The actress, 45, has foregone the wigs and period costumes for a choppy blonde bob and a contemporary outfit as she stars in the boxing movie The Cut. ‌ The Claire Fraser star shared a trailer on her Instagram account and captioned it: 'Every comeback comes at a price. Watch the official trailer for #TheCutMovie - Only in theatres September 5.' ‌ Balfe stars opposite Pirates of the Caribbean star Orlando Bloom and Severance's John Turturro in The Cut. The psychological sports thriller follows a former champion boxer in the aftermath of a career-ending defeat as he tries to regain his former glory. ‌ However, as his obsession to reach his former heights takes hold, reality starts to unravel and he might be spiralling into something much more terrifying. Balfe plays Caitlin Harney, the boxer's girlfriend who fears for him as he begins a brutal training regime with the uncompromising Boz (Turturro). Other cast members include The Wheel of Time's Claire Dunne, Here We Go star Ed Kear, Gary Beadle from A Good Girl's Guide to Murder, Oliver Trevena from Paradise City, and Emmerdale actor Andonis Anthony. ‌ Many rushed to the comment section to praise the film, with Bloom's former partner Katy Perry posting: 'The best movie!' ‌ A second person wrote: 'Gahhh Caitríona!!! This looks freaking amazing! Can't wait to see you in it!! [sic].' As a third added: 'Looking forward too see my favorit actress and storyteller Caitriona Balfe in her new movies the cut and Tenzing [sic].' A fourth fan commented: 'Thrilled for this and all of you! ‌ Cheering @caitrionabalfe on and the entire cast and crew!' As another added: ' @caitrionabalfe with the most expressive face. Excited to see her in this.' The Cut marks Balfe's latest role away from Outlander after she appeared in the thriller The Amateur earlier this year opposite Rami Malek. ‌ She is currently working on a very different project starring as Regency matriarch Mrs Dashwood in the upcoming Sense and Sensibility film, alongside Normal People's Daisy Edgar-Jones, Hanna star Esmé Creed-Miles, George MacKay from The Beast, Killing Eve's Fiona Shaw, and Harry Potter actor Frank Dillane. Balfe will also be appearing in the film Tenzing, which is in production. ‌ The eighth and final season of Outlander will be hitting screens in early 2026 after filming was completed in November 2024 and went into post-production. Both Balfe and Sam Heughan are now working on various new projects since completing work on Outlander. Although Outlander season eight is still a while off, prequel series Outlander: Blood of My Blood will be arriving this week to sate fans. ‌ The show follows the dual love stories of Jamie (Heughan) and Claire Fraser's parents. Much like the parent series, there will be time travel and romance among the Scottish Highlands for fans to enjoy.

Line of Duty star says people ‘jumped to conclusions' about Kneecap

Adrian Dunbar, who stars as Ted Hastings in Line of Duty, has defended the rap trio Kneecap, saying that people "jumped to conclusions" about the group amidst recent controversies. Kneecap has faced several show cancellations and was recently banned from entering Hungary, which they attribute to a "smear campaign" due to their support for Palestine. One of Kneecap's members, Liam Óg Ó hAnnaidh (Mo Chara), was charged with a terrorism offence in May for allegedly displaying a Hezbollah flag at a London gig – a charge he denies. The group has been criticised for alleged comments made at gigs, including "kill your local MP", but has since apologised and denied supporting Hamas or Hezbollah. Dunbar, who recently attended a Kneecap gig with his daughter, described the Belfast trio as 'a band of good musicians' who 'make great music' and promote the Irish language.
