Resurfaced video shows Sean 'Diddy' Combs inviting 13-year-old to after party

Daily Mirror4 days ago

A chilling video clip shows the moment a laughing Sean 'Diddy' Combs invites a 13 year old actress to an afterparty he's throwing in 2003. The footage captures Combs extending an invitation to Daveigh Chase, star of The Ring, to join him at an MTV event party, following her award presentation on stage.
Combs, who has been held in jail since his high-profile arrest in September 2024, is currently on trial in New York. The music mogul has pleaded not guilty to charges of racketeering, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution.
In the resurfaced clip, Combs asks Daveigh Chase: "Are you coming to the after party tonight?" Combs was at the VMAs alongside Ashton Kutcher to present the 'Best Villain' award, which Chase won.
This old clip has re-emerged amidst separate and shocking allegations from an individual claiming she was raped by Combs and another unnamed celebrity at a VMA afterparty three years earlier, when she was just 13.
Chase has not made any comment regarding the resurfaced video and there's no evidence suggesting anything inappropriate occurred at the 2003 afterparty.
Combs was seen encouraging Chase on stage as she delivered her acceptance speech for her win in the 'Best Villain' category. She bagged the award for her performance in The Ring. She was later snapped alongside Combs and Kutcher at the VH1 Big In '03 event.
Over the weekend Combs' legal team called for a mistrial after the third week of his trial concluded. His lawyers make a fresh bid to halt the trial, citing "prosecutorial misconduct".
In a letter addressed to Judge Arun Subramanian on Saturday, June 7, the defence claims "the government has presented testimony that it knew or should have known was materially false related to its allegation that Mr. Combs dangled Bryana Bongolan from the balcony of Cassie Ventura's apartment in September 2016."
According to PEOPLE, who obtained sight of the correspondence, it stated: "Accordingly, to avoid an unfair conviction in this case the Court should grant a mistrial."
The defence team for the Bad Boy Records founder also challenged the credibility of testimony from his former partner Cassie, who alleged she saw Combs dangle Bryana from a balcony. They argue her account is "demonstrably false", pointing to text messages that suggest she only heard about the incident later.
The letter further contends: "The incident, as alleged, is disturbing and powerful evidence, and the government has used it to depict Mr. Combs in an extremely negative light, as an angry and dangerous man who terrified Ms. Ventura and her friends."
The defence team argued that the prosecution presented photos of Bryana's alleged injuries from the incident, which were claimed to have been taken on 26 September 2016 in Los Angeles, despite "the government has long known" Combs was in New York City between 24-29 September that year.
They also accused the prosecution of "repeatedly attempting to disrupt" their line of questioning when they tried to "expose the perjury upon cross-examination.
"All of this was highly improper and exacerbated the harm caused by [...] the perjured testimony," the letter continued. "The balcony incident is just one example of prosecutorial misconduct during this trial."

What MTV VJ Ananda Lewis wrote in her final text to her best friend before her death at age 52 from breast cancer

Ananda Lewis' final text to her best friend has been revealed - one day after the former MTV VJ died at age 52 from breast cancer after a seven-year battle. Her best friend Stephanie Elam, a CNN correspondent, read part of the last text she received from Ananda. 'This is part of the text she sent me: "You know my feelings on this. We all go. The bodies are on loan and must be returned. We come in love and choose to leave it with love as well,"' she said on CNN while speaking to anchor Sara Sidner. Stephanie, who was emotional, continued: 'And then she goes on to say, "I love you my wonderful lifelong bestie of besties."' Stephanie spoke about Ananda's decision to try more holistic treatments for her breast cancer instead of a double mastectomy and chemotherapy. In October 2024, Ananda appeared on CNN with Sara to talk about her choice in forgoing the double mastectomy and chemotherapy. On Thursday, Stephanie said on her decision: 'She was at peace with this decision, she was calm about it.' Adding: 'She wanted to go after breast cancer the way she did it, and, I love my girl but she was hard-headed.' Ananda has died at the age of 52 after losing her nearly seven-year battle with breast cancer. The former MTV VJ passed away on Wednesday, June 11, as announced by her sister Lakshmi Emory via a Facebook post. She shared a black and white portrait of Ananda with the caption: 'She's free, and in His heavenly arms. Lord, rest her soul [prayer emoji]' Ananda's untimely death fell on the same day as her 14-year-old son Langston's middle school graduation, Lakshmi revealed to TMZ. She shares the teen boy, her only child, with husband Harry Smith, 54, who is the younger brother of Oscar-winning actor Will Smith, 56. The media trailblazer announced she was battling stage III breast cancer in 2020. In October 2024, she revealed that her cancer had advanced to stage IV after deciding not to undergo a double mastectomy when she was first diagnosed. Stephanie, who was emotional, continued: 'And then she goes on to say, "I love you my wonderful lifelong bestie of besties"'; Sara and Stephanie pictured As a fixture on MTV in the late 1990s, Ananda hosted hit shows like Total Request Live, Hot Zone and Spring Break. Lewis nabbed her very own daytime TV talk show, The Ananda Lewis Show, in 2001, which ran for one season. She earned two NAACP Image Awards during her career and was once deemed the 'the hip-hop generation's reigning It Girl' by The New York Times. Lakshmi told TMZ that her sister died at her home in Los Angeles at 11:35am on Wednesday, June 11. She was in hospice care at the time of her death. Lakshmi said that a memorial would be held 'in a few weeks' and that celebrities who Ananda previously interview have already expressed interest in paying tribute to her at the upcoming service. In October 2020, Ananda shocked fans when she announced on social media that she'd been privately battling stage III breast cancer. 'I have been fighting to get cancer out of my body for almost two years,' she shared in the six-minute video posted to Instagram. She also admitted that she'd avoided getting regular mammograms due to fear of radiation exposure. 'I have refused mammograms... that was a mistake. I watched my mom get mammogrammed for 30 years almost and at the end of that she had breast cancer,' she explained. Four years after her announcement, Ananda confirmed that her breast cancer had metastasized and advanced to stage IV She spoke about deciding not to undergo a double mastectomy in an October 2024 interview with CNN. Lewis explained that she had originally planned to 'keep my tumor and try to work it out of my body a different way.' Lewis first garnered TV fame as a host of BET's youth talk-show Teen Summit in Washington D.C., where she famously interviewed then-First Lady Hillary Clinton But when her tumor eventually metastasized, Ananda realized that she probably 'should have' gone through with the life-saving surgery. 'My plan at first was to get out excessive toxins in my body. I felt like my body is intelligent, I know that to be true. Our bodies are brilliantly made,' Lewis explained to CNN's Stephanie Elam. 'I decided to keep my tumor and try to work it out of my body a different way,' she continued, before adding: 'Looking back on that, I go, 'You know what? Maybe I should have.'' Instead, Lewis pursued homeopathic remedies as well as medication and radiation, and although her situation improved for a while, she discovered last year that her cancer had spread. 'My lymph system really flared up. It was the first time I ever had a conversation with death because I felt like: This is how it is,' she said candidly. 'I was just like, "Fudge man, I really thought I had this." I was frustrated, I was a little angry at myself, and I said, "Man, listen. I know you're coming for me at some point. But I don't want it to be now. And if you could just wait, I promise when you do come, I'm gonna make it fun for you."' 'I literally had that conversation laying in my bed. I couldn't get out of bed for, like, eight weeks,' Lewis added. Referring to her decision to not have surgery, Lewis said: 'My quality of life was very important to me, like there's a certain things I know I'm not gonna be okay with and I know myself. I want to want to be here, so I had to do it a certain way, for me.' Days after her CNN interview, Lewis clarified her comments about refusing a double mastectomy. In reply to a fan on Instagram, she explained that she did 'say no to the original conventional plan that was laid out before me at first' and 'chose the integrative approach early on.' However, she claimed that the 'treatments I was getting closed down and the monitoring of the tumor stopped' due to the COVID-19 lockdown in March 2020. 'Later, I felt the tumor growing and knew I had to re-consider my options with this new barrier of lockdowns. That's when I inquired again (after having said no which I stand behind as my choice in that moment) about surgery and was told it wasn't even something I could consider unless it was emergency surgery because that's all hospitals were doing at that time,' Lewis claimed. 'There are a TON of moving parts on most people's cancer journey and mine is no exception. I don't know that I would've opted for the surgery, I just knew I needed to adapt and take another look at all my options if I wanted to live.' Lewis said that she chose to be transparent about her cancer journey so that 'other women may learn from it, good or bad.' Lewis was born in Los Angeles in March 21, 1973 but her parents' divorce when she was just two-years-old led to her being raised by her mother and grandmother in San Diego, California along with her sister Lakshmi. She attended an arts high school before studying at historic Howard University in Washington, DC. She graduated from in 1995. Lewis first garnered TV fame as a host of BET's youth talk-show Teen Summit in Washington D.C., where she famously interviewed then-First Lady Hillary Clinton. In a 1999 interview with Teen People, Lewis said that her interview with Clinton was what 'got me noticed at MTV and in August of 1997, I moved to New York and started working there.' Ananda quickly became a fan-favorite fixture on MTV and interviewed many of the major stars of the late 90s and early 2000s, including Britney Spears and Beyonce. In 2001, the star took a major career leap as she left MTV to become the host of her very own daytime talk show. The Ananda Lewis Show premiered in 2001 but was short-lived as it went off the air after one season. However, Ananda voiced regrets about the career move during a 2020 interview. 'I wish I had stopped the people that wanted me to do the show and said, "Not yet, it's a little too early to do this,"' she told 'It was overkill for me. It wasn't what I felt like I signed up for.' She served as a correspondent for The Insider from 2004 to 2005.

50 Cent launches shock three-word insult at Kanye West's wife Bianca Censori amid rapper's Diddy trial cameo

50 Cent wasted no time taking aim at Kanye West and his wife Bianca Censori after the rapper made a surprise appearance at Sean ' Diddy ' Combs' federal sex trafficking trial on Friday. The 49-year-old Grammy winner, who has been an outspoken critic of Diddy, weighed in after Kanye showed up at the Manhattan courthouse alongside Diddy's son Christian Combs. West told reporters he was there to show support for the embattled Bad Boy Records founder. Diddy is facing explosive allegations from federal prosecutors, who claim he ran a criminal enterprise that facilitated so-called 'freak offs' — alleged drug-fueled orgies involving paid sex workers. Shortly after West's appearance, 50 Cent took to Instagram to mock the couple, posting an AI-generated photo of himself dressed in an all-white outfit next to footage of Kanye arriving at court in his own similar all-white ensemble. In his caption, the In Da Club hitmaker didn't hold back, even referencing Censori's nearly-nude look from the Grammy Awards red carpet earlier this year. 'We are wearing white in honor of the freak offs,' 50 Cent wrote. 'Damn Ye you should have brought your dirty little wife with that Grammys outfit! @50centaction' Meanwhile, Kanye was reportedly not on the approved attendee list for the day and was instructed to watch the proceedings via a closed-circuit video feed in the overflow room. He left the courthouse after about 30 minutes. 50 Cent's Instagram jab comes shortly after he fired back after a podcast host floated the idea that his ex Daphne Joy was involved in one of Diddy's 'freak offs.' Diddy's ex-girlfriend Cassie recently testified about her experiences with freak offs, and male escort Sharay Hayes—also known as The Punisher— opened up about his role in an exclusive interview with On a recent episode of Talk with Flee, Killa Cam sat down with Hayes and grilled him about the high-profile names reportedly involved—including Daphne Joy, who shares 12-year-old son Sire Jackson with 50 Cent. Cam asked Hayes, 'We hear about 50's baby mama Daphne being involved in some of these things—did you ever f* Daphne?' to which Hayes replied, 'Nah, every time I was called or involved in any way, it was only Cassie, specifically.' But 50 wasn't having it, reposting the clip to Instagram and writing: 'Well here come the bullsh**, don't kiss my boy Pee Pee Mouth.' In his caption, the In Da Club hitmaker didn't hold back, even referencing Censori's headline-making, nearly-nude look from the Grammy Awards red carpet earlier this year Meanwhile, Kanye was reportedly not on the approved attendee list for the day and was instructed to watch the proceedings via a closed-circuit video feed in the overflow room It also follows 50 Cent's vow to personally contact President Donald Trump in an effort to block any potential pardon for Diddy if the Bad Boy mogul is convicted of racketeering and sex trafficking. In May, Trump said he would 'look at the facts' of the case, acknowledging that he and Diddy once had a friendly relationship. 'If I think somebody was mistreated, whether they like me or don't like me, it wouldn't have any impact,' the president added. But 50 Cent made it clear he intends to remind Trump of the history between them. 'Donald doesn't take well to disrespect, and doesn't forget who chooses to go against him... while working tirelessly to make America great again there is no room for distraction,' said 50 Cent. 50 Cent has long made it clear how he feels about his rap nemesis, and he's never missed a chance to troll Diddy online. Lately, he's taken things to another level—ramping up his attacks with a string of wild, AI-generated images mocking Diddy and the explosive allegations tied to his trial.

Sean 'Diddy' Combs trial live updates: Ye makes quick courthouse appearance in rare show of celebrity support for Combs

What to know about the sex trafficking trial Ye, the controversial rapper formerly known as Kanye West, made a quick courthouse appearance today. He told reporters he was in attendance to show his support for Sean 'Diddy' Combs. Ye spent about 40 minutes at the court but didn't make it inside the courtroom before departing. Special Agent Andre LeMon, Jonathan Perez and Ananya Sankar are expected to be called to the witness stand next, a day after Combs' former girlfriend 'Jane' wrapped up about a week of testimony. Combs faces five criminal counts: one count of racketeering conspiracy; two counts of sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion; and two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. Combs has vociferously denied the allegations against him. This live briefing may include graphic descriptions of sexual violence. For resources on sexual assault, call the National Sexual Assault Telephone Hotline. Juror thrown off panel A juror was dismissed from the panel after he allegedly gave conflicting answers about where he lives. The man had given different answers to questions about where he primarily lives, in either New York or across the Hudson River in New Jersey with his girlfriend. Earlier in the day, Judge Subramanian had said he was leaning against dismissing the juror, saying there was likely an innocent explanation for any conflicting answers. But by the end of the court day, Subramanian said there were "serious question about his candor and ability to follow instructions." Perez 'feels great' about Combs The witness said he left Combs' company but harbors absolutely no ill will toward his former boss. Perez said he wanted to avoid any kind of legal entanglement and thought working for Combs could put him into such a situation. The last time he spoke with Combs was the day the music mogul was arrested last year, he testified. "I feel great about him, the same way I did when I was leaving my employment," Perez said. 'Jane' appeared to be willing participant in 'king night' outings, witness says Adam Reiss, Katherine Koretski and David K. Li Under cross-examination, the witness said he never got the feeling that "Jane" was unhappy or was an unwilling participant in Combs' "king night" evenings. Jane even asked him for advice on fashion so she could look her best for Combs, the witness said. Defense lawyer Brian Steel also got Perez to agree with him that these "king nights" were on Combs' personal, non-work time. That kind of distinction could be key for jurors as they weigh whether Combs used his resources to run a criminal enterprise. Share Ye spent a few minutes in an overflow room Adam Reiss and David K. Li Ye caught a few minutes of Perez's testimony in an overflow room on the 23rd floor. He and Combs' son Christian were close to the monitor and Ye removed his glasses, a local reporter said, to follow along with Perez describing his job with Combs. Ye left without speaking to anyone else gathered in the room. Share Combs is engaged with his defense today The defendant appeared to be particularly engaged with his attorneys today. Combs seemed to be paying very close attention to the testimony of a federal agent describing the raid on his home in Los Angeles. Combs even handed his attorney a note while the lawyer was cross-examining the agent. Combs could be fighting some congestion, perhaps an allergy, today as he grabbed tissues and forcefully blew his nose at one point in the morning. Share Witness testifies he found sex tape on iPad Adam Reiss, Katherine Koretski and David K. Li Perez recounted how he found a sex tape — showing "Jane" engaged with another man as Combs watched in the background — on a company iPad. The employee said he immediately brought the issue to Combs and his chief of staff Kristina Khorram. Judge Subramanian declared a recess and asked jurors to return to court before 1:30 p.m. ET. Share Assistant testifies staff had to prepare for a 'king night' Combs' staff would typically get between two and 24 hours to prepare for a "king night," an evening their boss would spend in a hotel with a woman, the witness said. Food, a change of clothes, condoms, lubricants and red lights were among the items commonly packed, Perez said. Ye leaves the courthouse Ye walked out of the front doors of the federal courthouse, got into a car and was driven away. He spent about 40 minutes in the courthouse but never made it into Judge Subramanian's courtroom to show support for the defendant, Combs. Share Former Combs assistant takes the witness stand Jonathan Perez, a former personal assistant to Combs, took the witness stand for prosecutors. The 35-year-old native of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, wore a brown suit, black shirt and black tie. Share Oils were a surprising find for agent The agent said he'd never found large amounts of baby oil in his previous human trafficking investigations. Asked if he'd ever walked out of a trafficking raid with boxes of baby oil, LeMon told Combs' defense: "It's only been this one." "That's what I thought," Combs defense lawyer Agnifilo said, perhaps insinuating that the presence of lubricants signals consensual sex acts. Share Prosecutor complains to judge about Combs 'nodding emphatically' +2 Adam Reiss, Daniel Arkin and David K. Li Maurene Comey, one of the prosecutors, complained to Judge Arun Subramanian that Combs was 'nodding emphatically' as his ex-girlfriend 'Jane' and the Homeland Security agent testified. Brian Steel, one of Combs' lawyers, pushed back on that characterization, saying his client has been 'nothing but professional.' Subramanian, who scolded Combs' team last week after the rapper apparently made facial expressions at jurors, told Comey it would be 'impossible to police' everyone in the courtroom but made clear 'we will keep an eye out' for any inappropriate behavior. Large number of guns found at Combs' L.A. home, witness testifies +2 Adam Reiss, Katherine Koretski and David K. Li Combs kept an arsenal of firearms and ammunition — designed to pierce armor — according to the federal agent who led the raid on his L.A. home. Long guns, AR-15-style weapons, Smith & Wesson rifles, a Ruger rifle and a Glock pistol were among the firearms discovered at Combs' Mapleton Drive home, LeMon testified. Agents also found 59 rounds of green tip ammunition, which is manufactured to penetrate body armor, the witness said. Share Hundreds of bottles of lubricants found at Combs' L.A. home, witness testifies +2 Adam Reiss, Katherine Koretski and David K. Li Federal agents found 900 bottles of Astroglide and 200 bottles of baby oil when they raided the defendant's home in Los Angeles last year, LeMon said. The lubricants were frequently used during "hotel nights" and "freak offs," when Combs directed women to have sex with other men as he watched, witnesses have testified at this trial. In a nightstand, agents also found six envelopes marked with "K" on them all, LeMon said. Those envelopes tested positive for ketamine, attorneys stipulated. Share Defense wants to limit or bar testimony about guns The defense told the court that it'll likely object to questions about guns found during raids during Combs' arrest. Combs attorney Marc Agnifilo called firearms a 'divisive issue' that he'd rather not have on the minds of jurors. "I am not seeing how guns in a security room are relevant to any of the charges in this case," Agnifilo said. Share Judge wants to settle juror issue U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian said he wants to settle the government's objections to one of the jurors, though there doesn't appear to be enough evidence yet to remove the panelist. Subramanian revealed the issue could be about where the juror lives. The government, earlier this week, said that panelist should be removed over "lack of candor." "My preference would be to hear from the juror and it is likely we will hear a perfect innocent explanation," Subramanian said, adding that he wants to "quickly resolve this issue" and "put it to bed." Here's what 'Jane' said yesterday Yesterday, "Jane" testified that she felt jealous of other women in Combs' life. She thought it was unfair that they appeared to get more from their relationships with him than she did, despite her folding to the pressure of "hotel nights." Jane reiterated how much Combs pushed her for "hotel nights" even after telling him she didn't want to do it. "All the time," Jane said. The constant need to have sex for Combs' entertainment made Jane 'sore, tired, exhausted and overwhelmed,' she testified. While she witnessed positive changes in Combs after Cassie's lawsuit in November 2023, Jane said she and Combs physically fought at her residence in Los Angeles in 2024. In that incident, she said she pushed Combs' head into a marble countertop when she was angry that he went on a family trip to Turks and Caicos with another woman. She claimed Combs later assaulted her in the hallway. Share 'Jane' was composed on the last day of her marathon time on the stand +3 Adam Reiss, Chloe Melas, Katherine Koretski and David K. Li " Jane" came across as firm and composed on her sixth day of testimony, only fighting back tears near the end of the day. Combs, clad in what appeared to be the same orange sweater and khaki pants he wore the day before, hugged members of his defense team when he walked into the courtroom yesterday morning. During an afternoon break, Combs grabbed tissues and dabbed an eye before leaving the room. Combs' former girlfriend finally off the stand after 6 days of testimony Combs' former girlfriend, identified in court by the pseudonym "Jane," finished her sixth and final day of testimony yesterday. During her time on the stand yesterday, she faced a series of questions about her relationship with Combs, including how it played out after he became the subject of a headline-grabbing criminal investigation in 2024. Jane told jurors she saw positive changes in Combs after Cassie Ventura, his former partner, filed her November 2023 civil lawsuit alleging physical and sexual abuse. Responding to questions from defense lawyer Teny Geragos, Jane agreed that Combs became more apologetic and attentive, less egotistical and cold.
