Prayers Pouring In For Kyle Busch After 'Scary' Practice Crash
The bad luck just keeps pouring on for NASCAR star Kyle Busch as a crash in practice left his car a mess and had fans scrambling to make sure he was okay.
During practice in Iowa today, Busch was doing a practice lap and things seemed to be going fine until his car swerved coming off a turn. Losing control, Busch's Chevrolet smashed nearly head-on with a wall before bouncing off. Flames could be seen emerging from the inside of the car as it spun into a stop.
Concern quickly mounted for Busch as not everyone could see whether he was able to get out of the car safely.
"Yeah almost head on, that was insane what a crash. Nice to know they have safer barriers unlike Indy last week. Glad he's ok," one user replied.
"I'm so glad he's ok," wrote another.
"That hit was scary, what broke?" a third wondered.
Busch appeared to be fine but his car was an absolute mess once it made it back into the garage:
Busch was released from medical treatment and spoke to reporters afterwards. He remarked that his No. 8 car had been struggling with "rear chatter" leading up to the crash. He lamented going into the fateful turn with "too much trust" and was punished with right rear chattering and overcorrecting, leading to the impact with the wall.
More bad luck for Busch
The story of the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series and really the past two seasons for Busch have been one bit of bad luck after another. He has now gone two calendar years without winning a race and has not led a single lap over the last 10 races - the longest such streak of his storied racing career.
Busch is still in the hunt for a spot in the NASCAR Cup playoffs. But he's on a razor-thin edge and would be near the back of the pack in the points-only qualification.
Last year he missed the playoffs entirely, so he'll need a dazzling finish if he wants to get in at all.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — Drake Maye isn't exactly measuring himself against Jayden Daniels. But the New England Patriots quarterback is keeping tabs on what his Washington Commanders' counterpart — and others from their draft class — are up to heading into their second NFL seasons. Maye and Daniels were on the field together Wednesday for a joint practice between the teams in advance of their exhibition game on Friday. For Maye it was a reminder of the potential and expectations they both carry. 'I saw him out there. I congratulated him. What a year he had,' Maye said. 'I think there's always in the back of your mind the draft class you came in with, and anytime you play him, especially, it's a little different. ... I think I'm just trying to worry about myself, but at the end of the day, keep up with those guys. Those guys are — him and Caleb (Williams) and Bo (Nix), those guys are good friends of mine, and they're friends until we play each other.' Friday's game won't count in the standings and the Commanders will be approaching it as such with Washington coach Dan Quinn announcing before practice that Daniels will not play in the exhibition. With backup Marcus Mariota also nursing a lower leg strain, quarterbacks Josh Johnson and Sam Hartman will handle the offense for Washington. Receiver Terry McLaurin, who is on the physically unable to perform list with an ankle injury in addition to 'holding in' as contract talks continue, was among the Commanders players that didn't make the trip. But Maye is expected to see action, with first-year Patriots coach Mike Vrabel saying that all healthy players would receive at least some playing time. High intensity While there was no tackling allowed during Wednesday's session, it didn't stop tempers from flaring during a pair of scuffles. The first featured just minor shoving between linemen. But the second, after Patriots rookie running back TreVeyon Henderson got tangled up with a Commanders defender, caused players from both sidelines to rush the field as even Vrabel jumped into the ensuing scrum. 'That's just how the game goes. Two teams with very competitive coaches, and players are representative of their coach,' Commanders cornerback Mike Sainristil said. 'We're out there competing and they're competing. But just being able to de-escalate situations before they get worse is very professional. Sometimes things happen. Guys start chirping. It's the game of football.' Maye liked the fire his teammates showed during the exchanges. 'That's what we're trying to build, I think, and it starts with the coach. The intensity, bringing it every day, taking no (nonsense) when we're out there on the field,' he said. 'But also, it comes to a time where, with our guys offensively, and getting over there and getting some tussles, and kind of having some penalties, and extra after the whistle can get us in trouble. But for mentality, I like it. I think that's what you want. I mean, I almost got in there, but I think maybe another day, maybe. We'll see.' But Maye said he was pleased with the day overall. 'Anything is positive when you're moving the ball,' Maye said. 'It looked like some football out there against a different team. Felt good to get our operations done against somebody else. We did some no-huddle that I thought went well. Gavin Williams just misses Guardians' first no-hitter in 44 years in 4-1 win over Mets
NEW YORK (AP) — Gavin Williams came within two outs of Cleveland's first no-hitter in 44 years before Juan Soto homered with one out in the ninth inning, and the Guardians completed a three-game sweep of the reeling New York Mets with a 4-1 win Wednesday. Williams (7-4) walked three and struck out six, including Francisco Lindor to lead off the ninth. But Soto homered just beyond the leaping grasp of center fielder Angel Martinez two pitches later. The Guardians have not thrown a no-hitter since Len Barker twirled a perfect game on May 15, 1981. Their no-hitter drought is the longest in the majors. Cadillac's $130K Escalade IQ Has a User-Installed Cloth Roof Sunshade
The latest car news, reviews, and features. My colleague Joel Feder just spent a week road-testing the 2026 Cadillac Escalade IQ. That's a fully electric luxury land yacht with a list price of over $130,000. He liked the car a lot, with the exception of one glaring oversight hanging over the heads of its occupants: A sunroof you can only close with a janky folding cover like something you'd find in the clearance bin at AutoZone. Like many modern luxury vehicles, the Escalade IQ's roof is largely glass, making the cabin look roomy and breezy when the sunshine isn't too intense. In pictures, it looks pretty cool to me. But you will not find corporate pictures of the vehicle's sunshade in place, because it does not look like the kind of thing that should be OEM on a high-end luxury car. As a spokesperson for Cadillac explained to us: 'The fixed glass roof is darkly tinted and treated to provide shade and UV filtration, mitigating the need for a power sunshade. For customers that do want this option, they can choose the accessory sunshade which is easy to install.' Feder disagrees with GM's assessment of 'dark.' And he lives in Minnesota—who knew the sun even made it that far north? Jokes aside—Cadillac's sun solution here does look off-puttingly undercooked, especially for a very visually prominent feature in a car this expensive. But it's not just the look that's offensive—it's the user experience. Having to fold up and pack, then unpack, this stupid gigantic sun shield is going to be incredibly annoying for Escalade IQ owners. Plus, they'll also have to not lose it, the little plastic clips that absolutely easily fall off the large folding contraption, or let it get damaged as it rides around in its little storage bag. My theory about this is that Cadillac wanted to skip the power retractable roof to avoid the cost and weight penalty, but didn't realize the ceiling tinting was insufficient for blocking midday sun until it was too far along in the design process to make the change, leading to the quick development of this portable shade. Why this vehicle doesn't have an electromagnetic setup that electronically darkens or lightens the glass like in the upcoming budget-focused Nissan Leaf, Rivian R1S, or even Cadillac's own Celestiq, is unclear. On one hand, I do appreciate that an effort was made to rectify the situation. But the design-stage oversight here is a big one. It'll be interesting to see how owners feel about this after living with it. Once these things spend a few months and years getting tossed around the cargo hold, I have a feeling they're going to start looking pretty ragged. I bet one of the Escalade IQ's first refresh changes is either a much heavier tint on this window, or a electromagnetic tint like we've seen on the Rivian and Leaf with big ceiling-spanning glass pieces.
