Tesla under fire! Air Force wants to use Elon Musk's Cybertrucks for target practice
The US Air Force wants to use the futuristic electric truck for target practice — believing that enemies may soon start using the fortified ride in their defense.
Two of Elon Musk's angular, stainless steel machines — which have come under less-literal fire for looking like 'a dumpster' and 'the love child of a cheese grater and a door wedge' — will likely be used in missile launching tests designed to mimic real-world battles, according to Stars and Stripes.

'The Cybertruck's aggressively angular and futuristic design, paired with its unpainted stainless steel exoskeleton, sets it apart from competitors typically using painted steel or aluminum bodies,' the Air Force wrote in documents cited by the outlet.
'Additionally, its 48V electrical architecture provides superior power and efficiency, a feature that rivals are only beginning to develop.'

The two Cybertrucks, which cost roughly $80,000 each, will be part of a larger military contract to buy a total of 33 vehicles for use at the White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico in support of the US Special Operations Command.
The combat-mobile-style truck doesn't sustain the amount of damage expected from a major impact, according to the Air Force.

The Cybertruck saw a staggering 51% year-on-year decline in sales over the past three months, according to data published last month by market researcher Cox Automotive.
In 2019, Musk unveiled the long-anticipated truck, saying its windows were unbreakable — a claim that was quickly debunked when Tesla's own chief designer threw a metal ball at the ride and broke two windows.
Tesla later posted a YouTube video showing a Cybertruck withstanding gunfire from a tommy gun, pistol and shotgun.

Look what the U.S. Air Force has in store for the Cybertruck!
We already know that Tesla's Cybertruck fares pretty well in a hail of bullets, but how would it do if a missile landed on it? Our guess is, not very well. But the U.S. Air Force wants to find out for sure. Recommended Videos Why? Because it believes that the Cybertruck's relatively affordable price and its tough exterior could make it popular among rag-tag armies looking for mainstream vehicles that are made of sterner stuff. Online magazine The War Zone has happened upon information revealing that the Air Force recently requested a batch of 33 vehicles that it wants to use for target practice. The shopping list includes sedans, pick-ups, and SUVs, though only Tesla's electric pickup was mentioned by name. And it asked for three of them. At some point in the not-too-distant future, the purchased Cybertrucks will be driven to a spot on the White Sands Missile Range (WSMR) in New Mexico before being blasted sky high by an array of weapons. The damage will to the pick up will then be carefully assessed. 'The Cybertruck's aggressively angular and futuristic design, paired with its unpainted stainless steel exoskeleton, sets it apart from competitors typically using painted steel or aluminum bodies,' the Air Force said in a document seen by The War Zone. The document continues: 'Its 48V electrical architecture provides superior power and efficiency, a feature that rivals are only beginning to develop. Extensive internet searches and industry outreach by [redacted] found no vehicles with features comparable to those of the Cybertruck.' At its launch event in November 2023, Tesla boss Elon Musk said the Cybertruck was 'apocalypse-proof.' While the comment was delivered with tongue firmly in cheek, Musk was highlighting that the pickup was designed to be more robust than others in its class. In a video shown at the Cybertruck's launch, Tesla demonstrated the vehicle's ability to handle a hail of bullets. The stunt began with a Tommy gun before moving onto a Glock, an MP5SD submachine gun, and a shotgun. And the vehicle did very well. Not sure it'll stand up to something like an AGM-114 Hellfire air-to-surface missile, though. Data suggests that Tesla sold around 50,000 Cybertrucks between November 2023 and February 2025, well short of the automaker's expectations. The pressure on sales have been attributed to various factors, including steeper-than-expected pricing, apprehension over multiple recalls, and damage to Tesla's brand perception amid Musk's political controversies.

Tesla Is Close to Having Its FSD Feature Approved in Europe
EV maker Tesla (TSLA) is getting closer to having its Full Self-Driving (FSD) feature approved in more countries, including some in Europe, where regulations have been especially strict, according to Notebookcheck. As a result, Tesla is expanding its free FSD transfer promotion outside the U.S. Now, customers who buy a new Model Y, Model 3, or the updated Model S or X can move their old FSD package to the new vehicle at no extra cost. The deal lasts through September 30, 2025, but may be extended if more approvals are secured. Elevate Your Investing Strategy: Take advantage of TipRanks Premium at 50% off! Unlock powerful investing tools, advanced data, and expert analyst insights to help you invest with confidence. In the U.S., Tesla has offered this transfer deal almost every quarter since early 2024. However, European buyers who paid for FSD years ago haven't been able to use it yet because regulators haven't approved it for public roads. That may finally be changing with the release of FSD version 13, which is far better at handling Europe's narrow roads and complex roundabouts. Indeed, Tesla has shown successes—like safely navigating Paris's Arc de Triomphe—and is gaining regulatory support. The company believes that countries like the Netherlands could approve the feature as early as this quarter or next. To support loyal European customers who've been waiting a long time, Tesla is now offering the free FSD transfer in Germany and across the EU with certain conditions. Buyers must order and receive the new Tesla between July 18 and September 30, 2025. The same Tesla account must own both vehicles, and the current car with FSD must stay registered to the owner for at least 72 hours after the new one is delivered. This move not only helps frustrated FSD owners but could also boost Model Y sales, especially in Europe, where Tesla has seen demand drop sharply due to backlash against Elon Musk's political statements. What Is the Prediction for Tesla Stock? Turning to Wall Street, analysts have a Hold consensus rating on TSLA stock based on 13 Buys, 15 Holds, and eight Sells assigned in the past three months, as indicated by the graphic below. Furthermore, the average TSLA price target of $305.37 per share implies 4% downside risk.

Suleyman has been pitching them on the idea that Microsoft's AI division is a nimbler, more startup-like workplace than DeepMind and has offered higher pay and the opportunity to help turn the Copilot chatbot into a more formidable rival to OpenAI's ChatGPT. INTEGRATION: Aurora Mobile (JG) announced that its AI agent platform, will integrate Genie 3, the latest general-purpose world model released by Google DeepMind (GOOGL). Through this collaboration, developers will be able to access Genie 3 directly via the platform, allowing them to create highly dynamic and physically consistent 3D training environments for AI agents. This will accelerate AI agents' learning and decision-making capabilities for complex tasks.
