
Mint Mobile customers say it feels like they don't even have service
Over the past couple of weeks, users have been flooding Reddit with complaints about Mint's network performance. We are talking dropped calls, unusable data and texts not going through. And this isn't just isolated to one city – these issues are being reported all across the country.

There could be a few reasons, but the most likely one starts with the fact that Mint Mobile is an MVNO running on T-Mobile 's network. And when the T-Mobile network gets congested – like during peak times or in busy areas – priority might go to T-Mobile 's own postpaid customers. MVNOs like Mint? They might get the leftovers.

These user reports all started around the same time, which could mean something changed on the network. T-Mobile has been prepping its Starlink-powered satellite-to-phone service and that launch didn't go entirely smoothly.
A major outage happened shortly after and it was reportedly due to an internal software failure. While that is a separate system, it does suggest there may be broader network-level changes happening in the background.
If T-Mobile rolled out a new software update, changed traffic management setting, or tweaked how MVNOs get prioritized, that could easily explain the sudden headaches Mint users are seeing.
And then there is that massive 50% off promo Mint is running right now. If it brought in a wave of new users, even with more network capacity purchased, the added traffic could be pushing the system to its limits – making deprioritization even worse.
All of this is just a guess, of course. The real issue could lie somewhere else entirely.

Instagram has officially launched its long-awaited repost feature, letting users share public Reels and feed posts directly to their followers' feeds. To repost, you simply tap the repost icon on a Reel or feed post, type an optional note, and hit save. While reposting content is common on other platforms like X (formerly Twitter) or TikTok, Instagram had long resisted adding this functionality outside of Stories. With this shift, Meta is signaling that it wants Instagram to feel more like a two-way street for engagement, not just a place to broadcast personal content. Beyond reposts, Instagram is also adding two other features meant to promote connection. The first is a location-sharing Map that lets users opt in to sharing their recent activity with selected friends. The second is a new Friends tab inside Reels, which highlights content your friends are engaging with. Both are rolling out now, with the Map limited to US users initially. It's worth noting that TikTok has long supported similar community-centric discovery tools, including reposts and location-based content. With these updates, Instagram is playing a bit of catch-up, though it's doing so with more user controls and clearer privacy options. As for whether reposts will change how people use Instagram, it depends on user behavior. Giving people another way to interact with content might help liven up the feed, but it could also lead to more noise if not used thoughtfully. Still, for those tired of algorithmic randomness, seeing what friends find worth resharing could feel refreshingly human.

Generative AI models have already made their way into our homes, our devices, our cars, various customer service roles, and even into our healthcare is an entirely new sort of beast, which comes with its own challenges. Smartphones are broadly divided into three categories: affordable, mid-tier, and high-end. As if it wasn't enough that flagship models are already quite expensive, smartphone makers increasingly want to nudge you towards the variants with the most bells and whistles and the biggest price tag. This presumed strategy will be on display this year with the rumored iPhone 17 Air, Galaxy S26 Edge, and Pixel 10. Slimmer smartphones are supposed to be better. We spend every waking moment with our smartphones, and I don't even want to think about what that's doing to our reason smartphones ballooned in size in the first place is that they pack more tech than before. This is why flagships are far heavier than cheap iPhone 17 Air and the Galaxy S26 Edge want to remedy that by offering you flagship specs in a thinner package. The only problem is that they will make far too many trade-offs to be considered high-end phones. And despite offering inferior specs, they will likely cost the same as the handsets they are replacing in their respective lineups. They are already beginning to sound like ripoffs. It's rumored 4200mAh battery will still be no match for the Galaxy S26 Plus' 4900mAh cell, and it will have a dual-camera setup, as opposed to the Plus variant's triple-sensor while pricing details are yet to surface, the Edge will likely cost the same as the Plus. That would be a step back in terms of value. iPhone 17 Air renders The iPhone 17 Air sounds even harder to justify than the Galaxy S25 Edge . The device is rumored to pack a laughably small 2,900mAh battery and a single rear camera. This model will likely sit above the base model and will probably cost the same as the soon-to-be-discontinued Plus model, which offers both a beefier battery and an ultra-wide sensor. The base Pixel model will have three rear cameras for the first time. | Image Credit - Android Headlines On the surface, the Pixel 10 is an upgrade over the Pixel 9 with its third telephoto camera. It's even rumored to cost the same as the Pixel doesn't mean the device will pack more value. According to one report, the Pixel 10 will use smaller sensors for the primary and ultrawide cameras. This could potentially affect its chances of making it to the best camera phones of 2025 list. After all, cameras are the main selling points of the Pixel 10 , and equipping the Pixel 10 with the same sensors as the mid-tier Pixel 9a is a downgrade. Taking all of this together, it looks like the base flagship models from Apple, Google, and Samsung will be nothing more than spruced-up mid-tier variants. Yes, they will come equipped with blazing-fast chips and high-quality screens, but they will be lacking in the other key areas that separate a flagship from a midranger. I don't know whether this is a move to convince customers to shell out for the priciest models or part of a broader strategy to do away with spruced-up mid-tier phones. There were some rumors about Google discontinuing the a series, for instance. Either way, springing for a flagship will no longer be enough to enjoy top-shelf specs; you must also make sure to choose the highest-end model.
