Ashton Jeanty Receives 4-Word Message From Raiders OL Jackson Powers-Johnson
The Las Vegas Raiders have long struggled to find established success in an unforgiving NFL landscape. Poor draft selections have certainly plagued the franchise, but things have taken a turn on that front in recent years.

During the 2024 NFL Draft, then-general manager Tom Telesco selected three starters in the first two days of the event. This included All-Pro tight end Brock Bowers and All-Rookie offensive lineman Jackson Powers-Johnson.
This year, general manager John Spytek opted for Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty with the No. 6 overall pick. He is expected to transform the Raiders' league-worst rushing attack from 2024.

The Raiders are in the thick of Phase 3 of the offseason program under new head coach Pete Carroll.
On Wednesday, Powers-Johnson posted a picture on his Instagram story of he and Jeanty with their arms around each other at OTAs. Attached was a quick message from the second-year center to the rookie running back.

"Run the damn ball," Powers-Johnson wrote.

Jeanty ran for 2,601 yards and 29 touchdowns at Boise State during his final collegiate season and finished second in the Heisman Trophy voting. Powers-Johnson split time at center and guard during his rookie year but is expected to be the full-time starter at center with Geno Smith.
Thursday will mark the last OTA practice for the Raiders, then they will have mandatory minicamp from May 10 to 12. After that, the team will break for the summer and return to the team facility for training camp sometime in July.

Projecting the Chargers' 53-man roster after the Keenan Allen reunion
The Chargers kicked off football season in impressive fashion with a 34-6 blowout in the Hall of Fame Game. Granted, several starters on both sides didn't play in the contest, but it was an encouraging sign from Jim Harbaugh's side nonetheless. After that context, it's time to update the 53-man roster projection with a few notable changes. Justin Herbert, Trey Lance, Taylor Heinicke Nothing changes here, and it likely won't. Lance's exceptional performance in the opener gives him a legitimate shot to win the No. 2 job. Omarion Hampton, Najee Harris, Kimani Vidal, Hassan Haskins Haskins was quite solid in the Hall of Fame Game, and we already know about his special teams abilities. For now, Haskins and Vidal remain the final two backs until further notice. Ladd McConkey, Keenan Allen, Quentin Johnston, Tre Harris, KeAndre Lambert-Smith, Derius Davis Jalen Reagor had himself quite the start to training camp, and Brenden Rice has made some flash plays as well. Unfortunately for them, Tuesday's signing of Allen significantly hurts their chances of making the roster. Will Dissly, Tyler Conklin, Oronde Gadsden II, Tucker Fisk Fisk's blocking chops earn him a spot. Rashawn Slater, Joe Alt, Zion Johnson, Bradley Bozeman, Mekhi Becton, Trey Pipkins, Jamaree Salyer, Andre James, Branson Taylor Harbaugh officially ended the Johnson experiment at center early in the week. If an injury were to happen to Bozeman this season, perhaps they would consider using Johnson at center then. Now, it seems like the starting five is set with Johnson at left guard and Bozeman at center. Khalil Mack, Tuli Tuipulotu, Bud Dupree, Caleb Murphy, Kyle Kennard Murphy has earned rave reviews from the coaching staff, and all the signs point to him sneaking his way onto the 53-man roster. He has been more impressive than Kennard, the fourth-round pick. Kennard's roster chances likely aren't in jeopardy, but he has underwhelmed in his pass-rushing abilities in camp thus far. Teair Tart, Da'Shawn Hand, Naquan Jones, Jamaree Caldwell, Otito Ogbonnia, Justin Eboigbe Another group with no changes. Except possibly the final spot, this group feels mostly set in stone. Daiyan Henley, Junior Colson, Denzel Perryman, Troy Dye Murphy's addition to the roster leads to this room only carrying four linebackers. Cam Hart, Tarheeb Still, Donte Jackson, Benjamin St-Juste, Nikko Reed The first three names on this list will be the starters and the regulars at this position in 2025, barring injury. St-Juste's experience makes him a likely lock to remain on the roster come Week 1. The fifth spot, however, has been snagged by Reed recently. The undrafted free agent out of Oregon was impressive in the Hall of Fame Game, something that carried over from his activity in training camp practices. Derwin James, Alohi Gilman, Elijah Molden, R.J. Mickens The eyes remain on the last spot, and Mickens had some special moments in that opening game. Cameron Dicker (K), Josh Harris (LS), J.K. Scott (P) No changes here.

2025 SEC Title Odds: 'There's Not A Real Standout Team'
Can you believe it: The Southeastern Conference has four teams among the top 10 in College Football Playoff championship odds. Then, two more teams are knocking on the door of the top 10, and there might be a sleeper or two in the mix, as well. So it's no surprise that, for SEC championship odds, bookmakers expect quite a battle to see who takes home the league crown and presumably a first-round bye in the CFP. "The SEC feels more competitive than in past years. It used to be just Georgia and Alabama," Caesars Sports head of football trading Joey Feazel said. "There's not a real standout team, so maybe we will get some variance this year." Feazel serves up his insights into how bettors are playing SEC championship odds. Texas' Time? Texas has been in the SEC all of one season, but it was a pretty good one. The Longhorns reached the SEC title game, losing to Georgia 22-19, though still earning an at-large berth into the College Football Playoff. From there, Texas knocked off Clemson and Arizona State to reach the CFP semifinals, where the Longhorns' season ended in a 28-14 setback to eventual national champion Ohio State. For this season, Caesars opened Texas as the +280 favorite to win the SEC, and the Longhorns are now +260. That said, Feazel remains a little wary. "The Texas Longhorns are still new to this conference, but right now, they're controlling most of the money," Feazel said. Quarterback Quinn Ewers moved on to the NFL, which fully swings open the door for Arch Manning to start. That has early bettors quite enthusiastic. "They're banking on Arch Manning. He's the Heisman Trophy favorite. But is he gonna be that guy this year?" Feazel said. "He does have a high ceiling, but we don't know how low his floor is." Manning got two starts last year, when Ewers was out with an oblique injury. Those starts came against two overmatched teams: Louisiana-Monroe, in a 51-3 blowout, and Mississippi State, in a 35-13 victory. Close Behind Georgia is the +375 second choice in SEC championship odds. As noted above, the Bulldogs won the conference title last year, getting a bye to the CFP quarterfinals. That's where the season ended, in a 23-10 loss to Notre Dame. Georgia has played in the last four SEC title games and won back-to-back national crowns in 2021-22 and 2022-23. With that success, though, comes a higher calling for many players: the NFL. "Every year, Georgia loses a lot to the draft," Feazel said. "There are question marks around this team, whether it will have its dominant form." Alabama is the +400 third choice to win the SEC. But as the post-Saban era hits Year 2, bettors aren't quite as intrigued by the Crimson Tide, who didn't reach the SEC final or the CFP last season. "Alabama still has its betting faithful, but there's less action than they were getting in the Saban years," Feazel said. LSU is expected to be in the conference championship mix, as well, and in fact has seen its odds notably improve in the offseason. Caesars opened the Tigers at +1100, and they're now +650. "We have a big Louisiana betting base. That's the case every year," Feazel said, adding there's plenty of belief in QB Garrett Nussmeier. "He will be one of the top quarterbacks drafted next year. The LSU faithful are coming in." Major Mover Oklahoma is a +2500 long shot in odds to win the SEC, but that's significantly better than where the Sooners opened months ago, at +6000. Feazel and oddsmakers at other books feel Brent Venables' squad could be an SEC dark horse. "Oklahoma has one of the hardest schedules, but is getting really good action. More action than you'd expect on Oklahoma," Feazel said. "The Sooners are not the dominant offensive team we've seen in past years. They're trying to get that back. "They seem to be a value play in the SEC, driving a lot of money." Cleveland Browns 'More Likely' to Have 4 QBs on Active Roster?
The Cleveland Browns have a lot of quarterbacks, all of whom feel they have a chance of making the 53-man roster. But, like, four of them? Cleveland is considered "more likely" to carry four quarterbacks than three on its active roster for the 2025 NFL season, according to ESPN. The Browns have added five quarterbacks this offseason, with Deshaun Watson expected to miss the 2025 season due to a ruptured Achilles tendon: Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, Dillon Gabriel, Shedeur Sanders and Tyler Huntley. The 40-year-old Flacco, who played for the Browns in 2023, posted a 90.5 passer rating across six starts and eight appearances total for the Indianapolis Colts last season; Pickett, a 2022 first-round draft pick of the Pittsburgh Steelers, backed up Jalen Hurts on the Philadelphia Eagles last season and has made 25 career NFL starts. Cleveland selected Gabriel, a 2024 Heisman Trophy finalist, with the No. 94 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft out of Oregon; it then traded up to the No. 144 pick to select Sanders, the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year, out of Colorado. Huntley, who was signed by the Browns earlier this week, has made 14 career NFL starts. Of late, Sanders has been dealing with "arm soreness," while Pickett recently returned from a hamstring injury. In the meantime, Sanders is getting the starting nod in the Browns' preseason opener on the road against the Carolina Panthers on Friday night.
