Popular cinema at XSite Braehead to reopen this week
It comes after the cinema was recently refurbished to include the 'groundbreaking' IMAX with Laser system.
This is said to provide moviegoers with an 'unparalleled' visual and audio experience.
Bruce Harley, XSite centre manager, said: 'We're excited to unveil the brand-new ODEON IMAX with Laser here at XSite.
'As a leading entertainment destination, we're committed to providing our visitors an elevated experience, and the arrival of these screens will be a fantastic addition, making every visit to XSite even more special.'

Guests will now be able to enjoy some of the latest blockbusters on the newly upgraded screens, including Marvel's The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
The recent transformation includes a huge investment to upgrade to IMAX's most advanced cinematic technology, IMAX with Laser.
This uses a 4K laser projection system featuring a new optical engine and a suite of proprietary IMAX technologies that deliver 'crystal-clear' IMAX laser projection, enhanced resolution, deeper contrast, and distinct colours.

In addition to the visual upgrades, the cinema now boasts a multi-channel audio system offering the ultimate audio immersion exclusive to IMAX screens.
The system is supported by IMAX's 24/7/365 network operations centre and features built-in image calibration and audio tuning.
Laura Canavan Doyle, senior marketing manager at ODEON Cinemas, said: 'We're delighted to expand our long-standing partnership with IMAX as we continue investing in our cinemas to elevate movie experiences.

Spider-Man has been spotted swinging through the streets of don't worry, he hasn't taken a wrong turn on his way to New York – the city has been transformed into the Big Apple for filming of the brand-new Spider-Man movie, called Brand New were spinning in excitement as they spotted yellow New York-style taxis, American police cars, and even a tank (yes – a tank!) rumbling past shops and businesses. Spidey actor Tom Holland was seen in action, stood on vehicles and attached to wires. Parts of the city centre have been made to look like New York City as filming there is set to last until 15 Tom Holland was also showing off his brand new spider suit – teased just last week. But it wasn't just Tom doing the heroics – a stunt double was seen actually swinging between buildings using wires and a giant crane-like (don't worry, fake ones!) lit up the streets, adding to the marvel-lous movie magic. Crowds of people have gathered to catch a glimpse of the action, with lots of kids enjoying the excitement on their summer holidays. Some even wore their own Spidey masks and costumes and even had the chance to meet Tom Holland between scenes. Glasgow has also been used as New York for other films - for example Indiana Jones and the Dial Of Destiny - and the city has also featured as the DC Comics version of NYC, Gotham City, in The Flash and The if grown ups driving in the city start to feel their spidey-sense tingling, it's probably just the traffic - as filming means more than fifty Glasgow roads will be closed for at least two weeks.

Marvel extends Glasgow shoot for new Spider-Man movie
The Marvel movie, set for release next year, is being filmed in several parts of the city, including Bothwell Street, Glassford Street and St Vincent Street. The streets of Glasgow city centre have been redesigned in the image of New York as filming for the new Spider-Man movie takes place. US flags and banners have been draped on the sides of buildings, and Big Apple-style street furniture and food stalls lines the streets alongside New York Police Department cars, buses, and now-iconic yellow taxis. On Sunday, Tom Holland, who is reprising his role as Spider-Man, was spotted filming scenes while clad in the web-slinger's famous suit. Filming began in Glasgow on August 1 and was originally expected to continue until August 15. However, The Herald can exclusively reveal that Marvel Studios and Columbia Pictures - who are co-producing the movie - have secured permission from Glasgow City Council to extend the shoot. Filming for Spider-Man: Brand New Day will now continue until August 26 - 11 days longer than was previously anticipated. Glasgow has been transformed into New York for Spider-Man filming (Image: Robert Perry) The Herald understands that filming will continue in the Merchant City area of the city until August 18, before halting for a few days and then picking up again from August 21 until August 26. Road restrictions indicate that production will move to Hutchison Street from August 16 to August 18, before taking over Cochrane Street, John Street, South Frederick Street and Montrose Street from August 21 to August 26. What we've learned about Spider-Man: Brand New Day from Glasgow set
Videos and photos from the set show multiple details of the movie previously unknown to fans. From the potential main villain to a new Spidey suit, here are the key things we have learned from glimpses of the filming of the new Spider-Man blockbuster. The main villain? There is speculation that pictures from the Spider-Man set in Glasgow have given a big clue as to who will act as one of the major antagonists in the movie: Mister Negative and his Inner Demons group. Mister Negative, who is plagued by a split personality, is one of the villains in Spider-Man's rogue gallery. His light personality is Martin Li, a benevolent philanthropist, while his darker side is a super villain with control over a form of dark energy. READ MORE: Spider-Man wows Glasgow crowds with stunts during filming One of Mister Negative's first ever appearances in comics was in The Amazing Spider-Man #546, the first issue of the comic storyline "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" – the same title as the upcoming movie. Set photos show a red devil logo on a military-style tank, which resembles Mister Negative's logo from the comics. The red logo on the side of the tank looks like the logo used by the Inner Demons group in the comics (Image: Robert Perry) So far Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures, who are producing the film, have yet to confirm if Mister Negative is in the movie, or announce an actor who may play him. The Marvel Cinematic Universe timeline Photos taken from the set of Brand New Day in Glasgow have suggested that the events of the movie take place before December 2027. A prop sign for a construction project indicates that the build has an 'anticipated completion' of December 2027. This means that, based on the MCU timeline, the movie will most likely take place in autumn of 2027, placing it after Daredevil: Born Again Season One and the Punisher Special – which canonically finished in April and July 2027 respectively. The new Thunderbolts movie is reportedly set around October 2027. It seems that Brand New Day may follow up shortly after. The previous instalment in the Spider-Man series, No Way Home, was set in late 2024, suggesting the next movie will take place three years later. Spider-Man's suit and web-shooters A noticeable change is Marvel's pivot to a more grounded Spider-Man. Nowhere is this more visible than in these new set photos showing the new suit. There are new web-shooters, which are much larger and appear more mechanical that previous iterations in the franchise. The new suit seems more basic, a move away from the Iron-Man-style high-tech suit of the earlier movies. Marvel wants to take the character in a more 'street-level' direction, according to senior figures in the studios, meaning an emphasis will be on lower-stakes stories rather than the grand, apocalyptic threats faced by the Avengers. These new web shooters are a visual and narrative manifestation of what Spider-Man has had to go through to evolve in the years between Brand New Day and No Way Home. Other characters The movie will also feature two returning MCU characters: The Incredible Hulk played by Mark Ruffalo, and The Punisher played by Jon Bernthal. Mark Ruffalo is expected to reprise his role of The Hulk in the new Spider-Man movieThe president of Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige, said in an interview with ComicBookMovie: 'We are seeing for the first time in the Tom Holland Spider-Man stories him being a proper Spider-Man. Him being by himself, dedicated to saving the city, and dealing with, for lack of better terms, street-level crime, as opposed to world-ending events.' Feige went on: 'So when you do that, you say, okay, who are the other street-level characters that we've never seen him interact with? And of course, I love that The Punisher started in a Spider-Man comic.' Marvel's new Spider-Man: Brand New Day is scheduled to be released in Phase 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe on July 31, 2026.
