Data's shrine: CM directs top level arrangements for ‘Ghusl' ceremony
LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz Sharif Saturday issued directions to authorities concerned for ensuring top-level arrangements and continuous security monitoring for the annual 'Ghusl Mubarak' ceremony at the shrine of Hazrat Syed Ali Bin Usman Al-Hajweri popularly known as Data Ganj Bakhsh. Emphasizing the importance of hospitality and discipline, the CM said, 'Pilgrims attending the Ghusl Mubarak are our esteemed guests, treat them with love and respect.' She instructed the departments concerned to provide the best possible facilities for devotees including effective crowd management to prevent any rush or stampede. She also directed that Langar (free meals) be distributed with care and dignity, reflecting the spirit of compassion associated with the revered Sufi saint. The CM further underscored the importance of maintaining order and ensuring the spiritual atmosphere of the event was preserved. 'Special prayers should be offered for the country's security, stability and prosperity,' she added, nothing that Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh's teachings of love, peace and tolerance were a guiding light for society. Forces kill 7 terrorists in Kachhi, Kalat IBOs

PHOTO: EXPRESS Listen to article Security forces on Tuesday killed seven alleged terrorists during two separate operations in Kalat and Kachhi district of restive Balochistan. According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations, security forces carried out an intelligence based operation (IBO) in the Mach general area of district Kachhi on reported presence of "Fitna-al Hindustan" terrorists. "During the operation, our troops effectively engaged the terrorists' location, and after an intense exchange of fire, sent five Indian sponsored terrorists to hell," it said. In another IBO conducted in the Margand general area of Kalat district, security forces raided a hideout and neutralized two terrorists. Weapons, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from the terrorists, who, according to the ISPR, were actively involved in numerous terrorist activities. The military's media wing stated that the security forces are determined to eliminate the menace of Indian sponsored terrorism from the country. They also reaffirmed the nation's unwavering resolve to bring the perpetrators of Indian sponsored terrorism and their facilitators to justice. President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to the security forces on the successful operations. In their separate statements, they lauded the professional capabilities of the forces. "India, through its proxies, is spreading terrorism in Pakistan," the president said. He resolved to continue actions against terrorists till their complete elimination. PM Shehbaz said the entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with the armed forces to foil the nefarious designs of Fitna-al Hindustan, which, he said, is involved in spreading terrorism in Balochistan under the patronage of India.

JAKARTA: The Agro & Food Division, in collaboration with the Trade Mission of Pakistan in the Indonesia, organized an online webinar on 'Pakistan-Indonesia trade potential in the tobacco sector' to explore trade opportunities in the tobacco sector of Pakistan. The session was jointly led by Ayaz Muhammad (PO, DD TDAP) and Muhammad Naseem Rashid (Minister Trade and Investment, Pakistan Mission Indonesia). The webinar brought together key stakeholders, including representatives from various Pakistani tobacco exporter companies including Amna Arbab, Assistant Director (Export) from the Pakistan Tobacco Board. The session focused on enhancing bilateral trade ties, showcasing Pakistan's high-quality tobacco products, and addressing trade barriers to improve market access in Indonesia. Participants engaged in discussions on market dynamics, potential collaborations, and the regulatory frameworks governing tobacco trade in both countries. The webinar also emphasized the Indonesia's role as a regional trading hub and Pakistan's capacity to meet growing market demand through its well-established tobacco cultivation and manufacturing expertise.
