Davide Ancelotti faces Rangers next manager mad dash as Brazil masterplan sparks hectic summer schedule
Rangers next manager candidate Davide Ancelotti IS expected to link up with dad Carlo at Brazil amid conflicting reports over his future.
However, the Real Madrid coach is expected to confirm a quick-fire exit from the international set-up after just two games.
Ancelotti Jr has long admired by the 49ers Enterprises and incoming Ibrox sporting director Kevin Thelwell as the search for Philippe Clement's permanent successor ramps up - and is understood to be on the shortlist of candidates.
But the Scottish Premiership giants face a whirlwind summer if they opt to go with Ancelotti.
The Athletic have revealed that Ancelotti Sr and Jr will stick together with Le Selecao - but only for two pre-agreed games against Paraguay and Ecuador.
Reports last week had suggested that the trusted lieutenant would stick with his dad as a key member of the backroom team on the road to their place in USA, Canada and Mexico.
Davide is now "expected to leave after the two World Cup qualifiers" - with the second clash against Paraguay taking place in the of morning on June 11 at 1.45am UK time.
Francesco Mauri - currently technical assistant with the La Liga heavyweights - is also expected to follow Ancelotti Jr to his next club despite previous suggestions he would remain within the Brazil set-up.
If he gets the nod, it would leave Ancelotti with just 11 days to become accustomed to the Ibrox environment - should he land in Glasgow 12 hours after the full-time whistle against Paraguay.
Nicolas Raskin revealed the Ibrox men are due to report back on June 23 for pre-season.
Rangers will enter the Champions League at the second round stage just a month later - with the first leg scheduled for July 22/23.
Clubs who reach the elite competition are handed £15.7million just for competing the league phase by UEFA - but the prize pot is expected to surge to at least £40million per club.
With a host of incoming and outgoing players expected when the US consortium take control at Ibrox a hasty turnaround could be on the cards following the end of the Premiership campaign last Saturday.

"Saying, see if you don't sign, we are going to tell everybody they are done and only keep Greegsy, myself, Whitty, Davo, that was the four assets at the club. "They were saying we are going to keep you and bin everybody. Everybody is going to get released. "Staff are going to get made redundant and lose their jobs. 4 "You feel as if 'I am being made out to be the bad guy all the time'. At that point you feel you need to speak up here and say 'this isn't us'. "We've taken a pay cut, we've managed to secure nobody losing their jobs. "We want the best for the club and that is what leads you to get to this point. "But in hindsight it [the press conference] was the wrong thing to do. "It is sad that you have so many good memories, some of the best memories of your career, and the success with winning trophies and it's tainted by the way it ended." Emi Martinez appeared to be saying goodbye to Aston Villa fans at the end of their last match of the season amid summer transfer links, but his wife has a different version of the story Emi Martinez's wife has denied that her husband has said farewell to Aston Villa. A visibly emotional Martinez was seen waving to supporters following Villa's final home game of the 2024/25 campaign against Tottenham on May 16, prompting speculation he could leave this summer. The Argentina international has a contract at Villa until 2029, but their failure to qualify for the Champions League could prompt him to go elsewhere. But his wife Mandinha has dismissed the speculation, telling BBC WM: "He wasn't in tears. No. Anybody who knows Emi knows he is an emotional character and that's who he is. Speaking before the final game of the season against United on May 25 – in which Martinez was sent off – he said: "We will see. Of course, it is the last match here [this season], and I don't know. 'We will see about the team, the players, but of course, they are responding on the field. Of course, then we will see about everything, how we are going to try to get better for the next season."
