Five-star DL commits to Notre Dame over Georgia
The Georgia Bulldogs lost out on a major recruit to a familiar foe as of recent. Five-star edge rusher Rodney Dunham commited to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish last week.
Dunham is a class of 2026 five-star recruit from Charlotte, North Carolina. The 6-foot-4, 227-pound edge rusher plays high school football and baseball at Myers Park High School in Charlotte.
With the Myers Park Mustangs, he racked up 55 tackles, 16 TFLs, 20 pressures, and seven sacks in his sophomore season. As a junior, he totaled 39 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, 16 quarterback hits, five sacks, a forced fumble and fumble recovery.
The Bulldogs were in the thick of things and the last visit until the Fighting Irish sealed the deal for him. Dunham is the 33rd best prospect in the nation, the fourth-best edge, and the third-best recruit from North Carolina.
Georgia will be very involved in this recruiting class to beef up the defensive line. As of recent they are the leader in the recruiting battle for four-star OL/DL PJ Dean.
Head coach Kirby Smart and Georgia football have the No. 24 recruiting class in the country right now with six total commitments. Three-star junior college defensive lineman Seven Cloud recently shut down his recruitment and reaffirmed his commitment to Georgia.
Head coach Marcus Freeman and Notre Dame have the nation's fourth-best recruiting class. The Fighting Irish have 11 total commitments and Dunham is their highest ranked commitment.

Notre Dame guard Billy Schrauth named to the 2025 Lombardi Award preseason Watch List

If Notre Dame is going to return to the College Football Playoff, strong offensive line play figures to be one key driving force. Recognized as one of the strongest units in the country, the O-Line is anchored by guard Billy Schrauth, who was named to the 2025 Lombardi Award preseason Watch List. Schrauth and the Fighting Irish offensive line have the luxury of facing one of the better defensive lines in the country every day in practice, so it comes as no surprise that this O-Line is prepared for the nation's best week in and week out. The Lombardi Award Committee's preseason list features 90 of the nation's top linemen and linebackers based on previous performances and potential for the coming season. This season's honorees include 18 defensive tackles, 17 defensive ends, 19 linebackers, 18 offensive tackles, 10 offensive guards (including Schrauth), 6 centers and 2 tight ends. Established in 1970 in memory of the legendary Vince Lombardi, the award is presented to outstanding linemen who best epitomize their values of leadership, courage, performance, and discipline on and off the field. Former Notre Dame lineman Howard Cross III making waves for the Cincinnati Bengals in camp

It wasn't a surprise when new Cincinnati Bengals defensive coordinator Al Golden pushed the team to pick up one of his former Notre Dame players in defensive tackle Howard Cross III. Golden knows exactly what the defender brings to the table, and while he went undrafted, the Bengals quickly made a move to sign him. Cross wasn't guaranteed a spot on the roster due to this fact, but he has been playing very well and might be pushing Cincinnati to keep him around. Their head coach Zac Taylor recently spoke to the media about Cross, and gave a glowing review. He said that his undrafted rookie defensive tackle 'has shown the ability to do the things we're asking those guys to do. Do the dirty work and do it how we want it done.' It's pretty safe to say that Golden knew that Cross could be productive at this level, and them getting a chance to reunite should be great for both of their careers.
