Amad reveals Man Utd season goal as he sends warning to Red Devils fans

Manchester United winger Amad has give his thoughts on the upcoming campaign and backed manager Ruben Amorim to be a success, despite their struggles last season Manchester United star Amad has urged fans to be "patient" and claimed that a top five finish would be a "good season" for the Red Devils. United are looking to bounce back form their worst ever Premier League campaign last season. ‌ They finished 15th in the league and missed out on a spot in the Champions League after losing 1-0 to Tottenham in the Europa League final. However, Amad remains confident that United will "win a lot" under Ruben Amorim. ‌ "I think they have to be patient with us," the winger said. "There's a new manager, with new players and new tactics. We know last season wasn't really good for the team, but I think this season we will win a lot with him (Amorim). ‌ "And I hope this season that we are going to achieve a lot of good things by the end of the season. A good season will be top five. I hope we can achieve top five at the end of the season." Amad also gave his thoughts on United's transfer business so far, with Matheus Cunha having joined from Wolves and Bryan Mbeumo also set to make the move to Old Trafford. "He's a good player," Amad said of Cunha. "We need good players in the team and he'll bring a lot to the team. I hope he can give us some different things. Especially last season, we missed a lot of good players in the final third. He scored a lot of goals last season, so I just wish him all the best." ‌ And when asked about Mbeumo, he added: "Of course I'm looking forward to playing with him. We need good players in the team who can bring something to the final third. We are really excited to have them in the team and I hope that together we can give something to the fans at the end of the season because they deserve it." United drew 0-0 with Leeds in their first pre-season friendly on Saturday and Amorim admitted that his side were off the pace. "It was a pre-season game. The gaps between our sectors was sometimes too big," he said. ‌ "We have a lack of pace, especially in the middle of the park and you can feel it is hard to win and bring the ball. But we created chances. I think Matheus Cunha showed what we need. That he is a player when he receives the ball between the lines can be really aggressive in the direction of the opponents. "We watched that during last season in a different team so we expect the same thing. Of course you can see the connection between him and Bruno is still not there but it's going to be a good connection."

Gabriel Magalhaes sends message to Viktor Gyokeres over Arsenal transfer

Gabriel Magalhaes admitted that Viktor Gyokeres is a 'great' player as the Sporting Lisbon striker inches closer to his move to Arsenal. The Gunners have identified the Sweden international as their leading transfer target up front and have made huge progress in getting a deal over the line in recent weeks. Agreeing personal terms has not been a problem with Gyokeres eager to join Mikel Arteta's side and play in the Champions League next season. But Arsenal are still to agree a fee with Sporting who are standing firm on add-on payments, refusing to be bullied into any deal. Although the final terms are still expected to be ironed out in the coming days and weeks, Gabriel was unwilling to divulge much about his potential new signing teammate. But it's clear the Brazilian was impressed with what he saw when the two came up against each other in the Champions League last season. 'We all know he is a great player, but he is a Sporting player not an Arsenal player,' Gabriel said. 'Playing against him last year was a challenge. He is great and had a great season.' Arsenal have already enjoyed an active start to the summer window, with deals for Noni Madueke, Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard, and Kepa Arrizabalaga all wrapped up. Gyokeres and defender Cristhian Mosquera are expected to be the next two signings through the door, with Gabriel pleased by the quality that has been added to their squad. 'I think the players that came will help us out a lot,' he said. 'The club is doing what is best for the players and the manager. 'They are definitely doing their best to bring the best players that can help us, but we have to focus on what we can do out on the pitch. 'The players that are here are doing that. We are strong and we are getting stronger with these new players. 'Definitely, it excites me. We want to have the best players. To be in the dispute for titles, you have to have the best players.' More Trending Earlier in the summer, Gabriel urged Arsenal to pursue a deal for Rodrygo, who has been linked with the Gunners having fallen out of favour at Real Madrid. Asked if he knows whether Arsenal will sign Rodrygo, the centre-back told the Podpah Podcast: 'I don't. No, I don't, not really. 'But I'd like obviously. Rodrygo is a phenomenon, for me. He's not at Arsenal… If it depended on me, I've told people already, he's a phenomenon. ''His name is mentioned a lot. If it was up to me, of course [I would sign him].' But Brazilian centre back Gabriel, 27 – who signed a new four-year deal last month – is confident they can finally shake off the tag of top-flight bridesmaids. He said: 'I only have one thing to say, and Mikel says it: We are ready to reach new heights this season. 'I've been at the club for five years now and I've seen how much the club has grown. I am here to win big titles and I do believe that this season will be different. We almost won but this year, things will be different. I have a lot of faith in that.' Arteta was left to rue key injuries that hampered Arsenal's title charge last campaign with the likes of Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard, Ben White, Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus suffering long-term lay-offs at crucial times. Gabriel was also ruled out for the remainder of the season in April, requiring hamstring surgery – with attackers Saka and Havertz undergoing the same procedure. He is back and raring to go with the club now out in Singapore for their pre-season tour, facing AC Milan on Wednesday and Newcastle on the weekend, before travelling to Hong Kong to take on fierce rivals Tottenham. Gabriel added: 'I don't think we can give excuses; we did everything we could in the last three years. 'I feel like we had a little bit of bad luck sometimes.
