Cadbury launches new selection box that shoppers aren't impressed with

People often buy boxes of chocolates to enjoy with others or to mark celebrations, but Cadbury's new Double Deck Selection Box has left shoppers feeling unimpressed Chocolate remains a beloved indulgence for many sweet-toothed foodies and never fails to deliver as a scrumptious treat. With plenty of brands on offer, there's no shortage of choices available, but Cadbury continues to stand out as among the most favoured. ‌ The brand has earned recognition for its iconic Dairy Milk bar, but the confectionery giant is equally celebrated for its assorted collections, including Heroes, Roses and Milk Tray that are ideal for sharing. These all feature an array of chocolates designed to cater to varying preferences and there are also assorted boxes perfect for gifting on special occasions, such as birthdays. ‌ Cadbury released its latest Double Deck Selection Box containing two tiers packed with a variety of chocolates from the manufacturer, but customers have raised one particular grumble. ‌ The Instagram account Newfoodsuk has gathered 373,000 followers and built a reputation for discovering the latest foods and snacks. The page recently shared a photo of the new Cadbury selection box and wrote: "How amazing is this Cadbury Double Deck Selection Box! "Now this selection box is deffo (definitely) a game-changer! We got this from Cadbury Gifts Direct!" ‌ The bundle features one Cadbury Dairy Milk chocolate bar (110g), one Cadbury Dairy Milk chocolate bar (45g), one Cadbury Dairy Milk Chocolate Caramel bar (45g), one Cadbury Dairy Milk Chocolate Fruit and Nut bar (49g), a Cadbury Crunchie bar (40g), a Cadbury Twirl bar (43g), a Cadbury Flake bar (32), one Cadbury Curly Wurly bar (21.5g), one Cadbury Wispa bar (36g), one Cadbury Boost bar (48.5g) and a Cadbury Double Decker bar (54.5g). A number of Instagram users were quick to spot that the selection box contains a Cadbury Dairy Milk chocolate bar featuring 'Merry Christmas ' branding. They shared their opinion that it's premature for these items to be launched and promoted at this time of year. ‌ One bewildered follower remarked: "Summer isn't over yet and already posting selection boxes??? Why??? "I think we should enjoy the now and enjoy the summer. There's plenty of time to think about Christmas when it gets closer." ‌ Another declared: "The fact [that] these are already on sale at the start of August..." Someone else simply proclaimed: "It's August!!" A fourth disgruntled follower added: "Nah sod off, it's time for Halloween, not this nonsense." A different user revealed: "I actually saw Asda stocking things a couple of weeks ago. In July! It's crazy, there's no way people are buying for Christmas this early." ‌ Another shopper, commenting on the post, admitted they "like to shop for Christmas early" but questioned the sell-by date of the Cadbury Double Deck Selection box, given that sales appear to have started in early August. However, a Cadbury fan was thrilled by the new product's launch and exclaimed: "I need this!!" Cocoa and Heart, a chocolate-making school based in London, provided information on how long chocolate can last beyond its sell-by or use-by date. They suggest that milk chocolate typically lasts three to five months for low cocoa solids milk chocolate and six to nine months for artisan milk chocolate or milk chocolate with a higher cocoa solids content (40% cocoa solids). The Cadbury Double Deck Selection box can be bought online from Cadbury Gifts Direct for £16.

A SHOPPER was left stunned this week after they spotted a festive display of treats at their local Morrisons. The aisle is promoting seasonal sweeties emblazoned with Christmas trees and snowflakes. 1 It comes as the UK prepares for its fourth bout of summer hot weather this weekend. Joe Andrew was visiting the supermarket with his children Summer, 11, William, six, and four-year-old Jack, when he came across the confectionary. He photographed boxes of Smarties, Milkybars, and Fruit Pastilles that all had yuletide imagery on them. The Chrimbo-themed treats were part of a display stand at the end of an aisle in a Morrisons in Lichfield, Staffordshire, on Tuesday, August 5. The perfect gift Prices for the festive Milkybar treats are on sale in various outlets from £2.15 per 80g packet to £23.99 for a pack of 15 x 80g packets. They are being marketed as "deliciously creamy Milkybar white chocolate buttons". The product statement adds: "With no artificial flavours, colours or preservatives, it's a gift you can feel happy to give!" They are also suitable for vegetarians. Co-op also has the product listed although it is currently unavailable in stores. The Co-op product states: "This festive giant tube contains great creamy tasting, smooth white chocolate Milkybar buttons, perfect for gifting or sharing with friends and family in the run up to Christmas. "With no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives. Milkybar still maintains strong milk credentials today and its simple, uncomplicated recipe is loved by everyone." Milk product Milkybar was created in 1937 as a non-vitaminized variant of Nestlé's new pharmaceutical milk product, when the company almost exclusively manufactured milk products. Such sterile milk products were trusted by parents to help their children's development without the bacterial risks of fresh milk. Even though it didn't contain vitamins, Milkybar was still designed to offer the goodness of milk. The arrival of the festive Milkybar tube comes just days after a brand new Nestle flavour hit the shelves. The Swiss confectionery giant's new Milkybar features a vanilla-flavoured biscuit centre and a milk chocolate base and was spotted in Poundland for just £1.50. But who are the contestants this week? A new series of MasterChef has arrived under a bit of a dark cloud. The BBC confirmed after 'careful consideration' it had decided to air the new episodes despite sacking both presenters. Last month, the Beeb made the decision to sack Gregg Wallace and John Torode after investigations into allegations made against them. The latest set of episodes were filmed prior to that and the broadcaster is going ahead with showing them. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad Announcing the move, the BBC described it as not being an 'easy decision'. It means both will be on hosting duties for the upcoming episodes. But who will be competing in the first two heats this week? Here's all you need to know: Why are Gregg and John presenting MasterChef 2025? Judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace | BBC Despite the BBC announcing that it had sacked both Gregg Wallace and John Torode in July, they will be appearing in the latest season of MasterChef. The duo are on hosting duties because the episodes were filmed last year prior to the allegations and investigations. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad A spokesperson for the Beeb added: 'After careful consideration and consultation with the contestants, we have decided to broadcast the amateur series of MasterChef on BBC One and BBC iPlayer from 6 August. MasterChef is an amazing competition which is life-changing for the amateur chefs taking part. 'The focus of it has always been their skill and their journey. This has not been an easy decision in the circumstances and we appreciate not everyone will agree with it. 'In showing the series, which was filmed last year, it in no way diminishes our view of the seriousness of the upheld findings against both presenters. We have been very clear on the standards of behaviour that we expect of those who work at the BBC or on shows made for the BBC. 'However, we believe that broadcasting this series is the right thing to do for these cooks who have given so much to the process. We want them to be properly recognised and give the audience the choice to watch the series.' Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad The BBC has yet to make a decision on if it will air the celebrity series or the Christmas special, which was filmed earlier this year. The spokesperson added: 'We will confirm our plans later in the year.' BBC News reports that the broadcast union Bectu raised concerns about the decision to air the episodes. It said bad behaviour "should not be rewarded with prime-time coverage". Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy weighed in during an appearance on BBC Breakfast, saying that as a viewer she "certainly won't be watching it" but added that it wasn't her place to tell broadcasters what they could or couldn't show.
