The Beauty of Coco Jones

Yahoo26-05-2025
If you've ever assumed something about Coco Jones, it's probably true. She's confident, composed, and certain—certain above all that she's on the right path and not in the business of making you understand or buy into her hype. She doesn't need you to.
'It's fair to assume I'm not normal,' Jones, our Beauty for All cover star, jokes over Zoom. 'I've always been focused. When I was younger, the kids wanted to go to sleepovers and parties. I wanted to work. I was in a completely different headspace, so when people say, 'I can't relate to this girl,' I think it's fair to say.' Her honesty is a breath of fresh air. At a time when people go to great lengths to seem personable, her rejection of that impulse somehow makes her even more relatable. She's a great who wants to be among the greats—and she's not afraid to say it. There's beauty in being prideful of what you're working toward and acknowledging who you already are. You don't have to dim your light to shine.

'I'm really proud of where I am,' Jones continues. Our conversation takes place just before the release of her debut album, Why Not More?, her Met Gala debut, and in the midst of a whirlwind few months that included single drops, red carpets, and Fashion Week appearances. 'I'm happy. This is what everyone wants in the industry I'm in—to be at all the places that are important. It means I'm on the right path.'
It's fair to assume I'm not normal.
To be on the right path in Hollywood, you need a signature look—something instantly recognizable, unmistakably yours. Jones has that down: glowing skin, big bouncy hair, and a constantly beat face. She loves a beat. 'My brows make me the most confident,' she shares. 'I have my dad's, and they literally look like the shape of a TV antenna. I've always been really big on tweezing and plucking. I was not playing around with these brows. Having a really clean, sharp brow makes me feel elevated.' She adds that they can't be too sharp—'then it'll give Batman.'
Outside of brows, Jones can't live without her lashes. 'I feel like a literal drawing with lashes and brows.' Some of her go-to brands include Danessa Myricks and Black Girl Sunscreen. Those items stay in her purse—along with something a little unexpected: a wax kit. 'Yes, I do my own waxes. I'm very proud of that. Now, it's not downstairs—but it's the pits and things of that nature. I started doing it with sugar wax and thought, 'Oh, we're going to keep this up.' I pull her out, and she's loyal. She's always with me.'
I'm happy. This is what everyone wants in the industry I'm in—to be at all the places that are important. It means I'm on the right path.
Though she's been consistent with her glam for years, Jones sometimes considers a switch-up. 'I go back and forth internally like, 'Okay, should I do something different? Or should I really lean into one look and let it be my staple?' I think about, like, Sabrina Carpenter with the blonde, you know? What should be my route? I just don't have that answer right now,' she says. 'Despite everything I've accomplished, I have so much more learning and evolving to do.' For now, the look is long and wavy—and it's working.
As we anticipate the many eras Jones has ahead, her current one is captured in Why Not More?, a 14-track R&B project exploring love, heartbreak, sex, growth, and self-love. On 'AEOMG,' she leans into desire; on the title track, she asks for more. 'By Myself' is a rollercoaster that ends in clarity, a focus on happiness without outside validation. 'Keep It Quiet' dives into the consequences of a toxic relationship, with Jones belting, 'Don't make a good girl violent!'
I have to do what's best for every version of me, who I am now and who I want to become.
This project is a reintroduction to Jones, who fans have watched evolve from Disney Channel star to a hot girl on Bel-Air. 'I wanted a song for every emotion,' she says. 'You know—when you're mad, angry, happy, sad, resentful. I feel like music should be very useful. Plus, I'm growing up. I have experiences—experiences that grown women have.'
Jones doesn't name names, but she does admit that romantic relationships inspired much of the album. She's been linked to NBA player Donovan Mitchell since January 2024 and appeared to confirm the relationship on Club Shay Shay in March. 'I'm happy, and I will say, my music is my outlet,' she told Shannon Sharpe. 'I say some things, and you can hear it on my album.'
When I ask if any of the more toxic songs are about someone specific, Jones plays it cool. 'I feel like the wrong people in general will bring out the worst version of you,' she says. 'I think sometimes in relationships, it's this game of who's going to care the least—and it's not a safe space for anybody to thrive. So yeah, I will say there have been times where I want to get violent—but in the sense of the way I talk.'
Whether it's in the studio or in front of the camera, Jones doesn't wait for direction—she gives it. During our shoot, she placed a mirror in front of the lens, checking her angles as she guided the photographer through each pose. She's not just the subject—she's the eye. And as she continues to shape her career, her sound, and her story, one thing is clear: she's doing it entirely on her own terms.
'I have to do what's best for every version of me, who I am now and who I want to become,' Jones adds.

Kim Kardashian Trades Her Natural Dark Hair for Bombshell Blonde in Dramatic Transformation: ‘About That Time'

NEED TO KNOW Kim Kardashian shared an Instagram post on Aug. 15 revealing that she has blonde hair again She captioned her post, "About that time" Kardashian has gone blonde several times in recent years and went platinum at the 2024 Met Gala Kim Kardashian is ditching her dark hair for blonde yet again! In a Friday, Aug. 15, Instagram post, the Kardashians star, 44, shared a photo that showed her in the process of getting her hair styled. Instead of her natural glossy, dark locks she's been rocking as of late, Kardashian's hair is now an ash blonde with root shadow. The SKIMS founder's hair was half styled into loose braids and had a silver clip to keep a section of her hair in place. Kardashian puckered her lips and gave the camera a smoldering look. "About that time," she captioned the image, adding a blonde-haired woman emoji. Never miss a story — sign up for to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer, from celebrity news to compelling human interest stories. Though the reality TV star didn't reveal if the new hair change was a wig, the background of the picture showed several rows of hair extensions that matched her new and improved hair color. Kardashian has gone blonde several times over the past few years. In 2024, she sported a bright platinum blonde shade for the Met Gala to celebrate the opening of the "Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion" exhibit at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. She paired the platinum blonde hair with a sheer Margiela by John Galliano dress featuring a lace train with floral accents. The dress also had a silver corset that shrank her waist by several inches. In 2023, Kardashian surprised fans by briefly going honey blonde at the GQ Men of the Year event. She wore the honey blonde hair parted down the middle and styled straight, allowing the hair to hang down to the middle of her back. She coupled the transformation with a chocolate brown Chrome Hearts halter-neck dress. The 2022 Met Gala saw Kardashian going platinum blonde yet again, this time, to channel Marilyn Monroe for the opening of the "In America: An Anthology of Fashion" at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. She wore her hair slicked back into a tight bun and wore the exact dress that Monroe wore while singing "Happy Birthday, Mr. President" to John F. Kennedy for his 45th birthday in 1962. In her sister Kylie Jenner's Married to the Met video, Kardashian revealed that the platinum blonde transformation took her 14 hours to achieve. Her hairstylist, Chris Appleton, later told Vogue that the hair change was also done to honor Monroe. "The hair look was simple to highlight the platinum color, giving the hair color and dress the attention," Appleton told the outlet at the time. "I wanted it to be iconic to Marilyn, but also iconic to Kim when she has her blonde moment." Read the original article on People

Why is Melania Trump threatening to sue Hunter Biden? Here's her story on meeting Donald

First lady Melania Trump and former President Joe Biden's son are feuding over different accounts of how she met Donald Trump. Hunter Biden said in a YouTube interview published on Aug. 5 that late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, whose controversy has roiled the Trump administration for weeks, introduced Donald Trump to the woman who would become his third wife. The first lady on Aug. 6 threatened to sue for more than $1 billion if he didn't retract the claim, and Biden said in a follow up video, 'F--- that. That's not going to happen." Biden in the second video published Aug. 14 pointed to 2019 news reports that Epstein was claiming he introduced the couple. But Melania Trump's account of how they met goes back to a September 1998 meeting at a New York City nightclub. Here is how she says she met her husband before his political rise to power. 'Melania' excerpt tells her story: 'Hi, I'm Donald Trump.' The first lady posted an excerpt from her memoir "Melania" on social media in July, telling the story of how she met her now husband. Chapter 5: 'Hi, I'm Donald Trump.' On a Friday night in September 1998, as I settled into the comfort of my New York City apartment after a whirlwind trip to Paris, my phone rang. It was a friend of mine. 'My boyfriend is throwing a party at the Kit Kat Klub tomorrow night,' she said. 'Please come. We haven't seen each other in so long.' 'I just got back from Paris,' I said. 'Please, it will be fun. A lot of people will be there. We'll pick you up.' While I was tired and jetlagged, I loved the idea that my weekend was about to be filled with the company of friends. I have always been selective in how I choose to spend my time and where I put my energy. A late-night party at the club was not my top choice for a Saturday evening. I much preferred staying in, watching a film, or going to dinner with close friends. Though I didn't shy away from social gatherings, clubs were simply not my cup of tea. I accepted the invitation anyway; after all, it was Fashion Week — a time of glamour and sophistication. I was actually looking forward to mingling with industry insiders and trendsetters. When I stepped into the sleek black limo my friend arrived in, I felt like a celebrity en route to a gala. As we arrived at the Kit Kat Klub, the energy of the crowd and the dazzling lights greeted us. Inside, the dark, crowded space buzzed with models, photographers, editors, and designers mingling in this Fashion Week Saturday night. I settled in upstairs at our table in the VIP section, where the atmosphere was one of sophistication and camaraderie. Some guests danced, while others engaged in lively conversation, and we were all enjoying ourselves. I saw my friend wave at someone behind me. When I turned around, I noticed a man and an attractive blonde woman approaching us. 'Hi, I'm Donald Trump,' the man said when he reached my table. 'Nice to meet you.' I recognized the name, and I knew he was a businessman or celebrity, but not much else. He put his hand out to shake mine. 'Hello,' I replied. 'I'm Melania.' His eyes filled with curiosity and interest, and, seizing the opportunity, he took the seat next to mine and started a conversation. He asked me about my time in New York, my Slovenian home, and my world travels. It was a moment of connection, a brief encounter that left a lasting impression. It was nice to make a new acquaintance. He was accompanied by a beautiful date, so I initially dismissed our conversation as mere pleasantries exchanged at an industry event. The music was loud, and the crowd boisterous, making it difficult to truly connect with someone. From the moment our conversation began, I was captivated by his charm and easygoing nature. There was so much bustling activity around us, but his intent focus on our interaction made me feel like the center of his world. It was a refreshing departure from the usual superficial small talk, and I found myself drawn to his magnetic energy. What did Hunter Biden say about Melania Trump? Hunter Biden said that Epstein introduced President Donald Trump and Melania Trump. In an appearance on YouTube show Channel 5 with Andrew Callaghan, Biden gave a lengthy interview that discussed his father's disatrous debate performance and other topics, in addition to Epstein. 'They spent an enormous amount of time together," Biden said of the president and Epstein in his interview with Callaghan. "That's how Melania, and the first lady and the president met. Yeah, according to Michael Wolff," he said referring to the author of several Trump books. Trump's association with Epstein, whom he knew socially, has dogged him since his first term in office. In 2019, Trump said he'd had a 'falling out' with Epstein, whom he described as a 'Palm Beach fixture,' in the mid-2000s. Their connection was back in the spotlight when Tesla CEO Elon Musk linked Trump to Epstein during the height of their feud. Biden cited news going back to 2019 that "reported that sources said that Jeffrey Epstein claimed to be the person to introduce Donald Trump to Melania at that time.' Melania Trump threatens legal action over Biden's claims On Aug. 6, the first lady threatened to sue Biden for more than $1 billion if he doesn't retract the claim. The legal notice by Alejandro Brito, the first lady's lawyer, demands that Biden "immediately retract the false, defamatory, disparaging and inflammatory statements made about Mrs. Trump." Donald Trump said he encouraged his wife's legal action against Biden. "Jeffrey Epstein had nothing to do with Melania," Trump said August. 14, during an interview with Fox Radio's Brian Kilmeade. "But they do that to demean. I told her to go ahead and do it. She was very upset about it." Other outlets have also received notices from Melania Trump's lawyer over similar claims and issued apologies and retractions. But Biden doesn't seem poised to back down. 'I don't think that these threats of a lawsuit add up to anything other than a designed distraction, because it's not about who introduced whom to who,' Biden said. 'I don't know how that in any way rises to the level of defamation to begin with.'
