The Asia Star Entertainer Awards (ASEA) made a return for its second year. Launched by Newsen and Star1 magazine last year, the ceremony brought together some of the biggest names in the Asian entertainment industry under one roof. Held at the K-Arena Yokohama in Japan on Wednesday, May 28, the prestigious two-day event kicked off with glitz and glamour as artists celebrated excellence in music and drama across the region.
Among the winners of Day 1 of ASEA 2025 was BLACKPINK's Jisoo. She took home the Best Solo (Female) award. She was honoured for her standout achievements over the past year, recognising her talent not just as a solo performer but also as a composer and producer. Jisoo's latest win also received much appreciation from her fans worldwide.

Taking to X, many of her fans praised the 30-year-old K-pop idol for her successful solo career. One fan wrote, 'Best Solo (Female) fits her too well. Other K-pop stars who won big at the 2025 Asia Star Entertainer Awards were aespa, ENHYPEN, NCT Wish and Lim Young Woong. The four-membered girl group bagged three awards, including Artist of the Year, Song of the Year (Supernova), and The Platinum. ENHYPEN, on the other hand, took home three awards, namely Album of the Year for ROMANCE: UNTOLD, Top Touring Artist, and The Platinum. Meanwhile, NCT Wish bagged Best Performance and Platinum, whereas Lim Young Woong won the Best Solo (Male) award.
Speaking of BLACKPINK Jisoo's solo career as a singer, the 30-year-old star released her first-ever solo EP titled Amortage on February 14 this year. Comprising four tracks both in Korean and English, the album, a bubblegum pop record, explores various stages of love. Its lead single was titled Earthquake, and it was released alongside the EP.
As for her career as an actor, Jisoo was last seen in the romantic zombie comedy called Newtopia. She starred alongside Park Jeong Min in the drama, which aired from February 7 to March 21. Currently, she has Omniscient Reader: The Prophet, featuring Lee Min Ho, Ahn Hyo Seop and Chae Soo Bin, in the pipeline. The film is scheduled to release sometime in 2025.
