Ashton Jeanty leaves fans horrified with 'awful' Swarovski-studded fashion choice on NFL Draft red carpet

Daily Mail24-04-2025
Ashton Jeanty's skills on the football field may have impressed front offices around the league, but his fashion on the red carpet has had the opposite effect on NFL fans.
The running back is expected to be a top pick this evening in Green Bay with the Jacksonville Jaguars or Las Vegas Raiders at No. 5 and 6 respectively projected to take him.
But Jeanty already made a splash Thursday night, long before any team was on the clock as he turned heads with his red carpet arrival.
The 21-year-old rocked up to the Draft at Lambeau Field in an ultra-dark plum double breasted blazer, featuring a floral print pattern and black velvet lapels. He sported matching suit pants and crisp white shirt, topped off with a black bowtie.
Yet, it was his footwear that truly caught fans' attention as he walked the red carpet in a pair of Swarovski-studded black Crocs on his feet.
The shoes caused a stir on social media as many NFL fans ripped the prospect for the bold fashion choice.
'That's awful. I hope he falls to the Steelers,' one claimed on X, formerly known as Twitter.
A second echoed the sentiment, writing: 'That just dropped him to the 6th round.'
'Eh, kinda weird,' another branded the choice, while a fourth added: 'nah I'm out on him.'
'No accounting for taste,' chimed in another.
But Jeanty defended his bold outfit when quizzed on the wardrobe choice by SportsCenter.
'Just trying to show you can be comfortable but still look fly as well,' he claimed.
Jeanty led Boise State to a College Football Playoff berth and could get taken earlier than any running back since Saquon Barkley got taken second overall in 2018.
The Chicago Bears could be plotting a move up to draft Jeanty, The Athletic's Dianna Russini reported just hours before the start of the draft.
The Bears currently hold the No. 10 spot but other teams reportedly believe they are interested in making a deal to move up in order to snatch Jeanty up.

BREAKING NEWS NFL first-round draft pick Noah Fant cut by his team three days before camp

Seattle Seahawks ' offseason of upheaval took another twist on Sunday with tight end Noah Fant released by the team. Fant, a 2019 first round draft pick for the Denver Broncos, played 48 games for the Seahawks after moving to Seattle as part of the 2022 trade that moved Russell Wilson to Denver. The 27-year-old Fant recorded 130 receptions for 1,400 yards and five touchdowns in his three years in Seattle but now is looking for a new team. The move frees up nearly $9million in salary cap space for the Seahawks and the organization says the move will likely see more opportunities for AJ Barner. The Seahawks welcome players back for the first day of camp from July 23, where a new era will begin for the team with Sam Darnold as their quarterback. His predecessor, Geno Smith, was traded to the Las Vegas Raiders earlier this year as Tom Brady led a rebuild of the AFC West organization. Smith reunited with his former Seahawks coach Pete Carroll in Vegas. Darnold enjoyed an impressive year with the Minnesota Vikings last season, although his campaign was blighted by his form stuttering as the team made the playoffs. He signed a three-year, $100.5million deal with the team.
