LOUDOUN CO., Va. - Attorneys for a Loudoun County teen say he is under investigation for sexual harassment after what they say was an innocent exchange in the locker room.
The 15-year-old sophomore attends Stone Bridge High School. He and his family are represented by the Founding Freedoms Law Center.
Virginia's governor and Attorney General announced an investigation in Loudoun County public schools over a reported incident in a school locker room. The governor is calling this case a "violation" of student privacy.
Gov. Glenn Youngkin is asking Attorney General Jason Miyares to investigate Loudoun County Public Schools' conduct. It stems from allegations from several teen boys and their parents.
The parents say the school district launched a Title IX investigation after the boys questioned why a girl was in the boys' locker room at Stone Bridge High School. One of the boys was recorded saying he was "uncomfortable."
The boys say the student in question also recorded the group's reaction in the locker room. FOX 5 is told the student identifies as male but presents as female.
Gov. Youngkin has called the allegations alarming, writing in a statement,
"Students who express legitimate concerns about sharing locker rooms with individuals of the opposite biological sex should not be subjected to harassment or discrimination claims."
Loudoun County disputes the allegations, telling FOX 5 that some of the information is false or misleading saying, "they would not investigate or discipline students based on personal opinions," but that they do investigate when student behavior violates the student rights and responsibilities handbook and student code of conduct.
"I'm here to speak on behalf of my son who has been wrongfully accused of a Title IX violation. In truth he is a victim of a Title IX violation – ignored and unsupported by the very system that is supposed to protect him,' said Rena Smith, mom of the student being investigated.
"We need clear and consistent policies that create trust and not confusion for students, parents and staff," said Seth Wolfe, father of the student under investigation.
During the public comment, parents questioned if the student, who is accused of recording the group of boys in the locker room, is being investigated.
Right now, it is unclear and the school district says it can't comment on specifics due to privacy laws.

Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin, a Republican, has directed state police to open a criminal investigation into allegations that staff at a Fairfax County school arranged abortions for students without parental consent, potentially using public money. Officials at Centreville High School allegedly arranged and bankrolled abortions for girls in 2021, including a 17-year-old, without notifying their parents. School administrators may have known the staff-arranged abortions were happening, and school funding may have been used, which could include local, state and federal funds, according to reports. "I am deeply concerned with the allegations that Fairfax County Public Schools officials arranged for minors to get abortions without parental consent and may have misused public funds to pay for them," Youngkin said in a statement on Wednesday. "I am directing the Virginia State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation to open a full criminal investigation into the matter immediately," he added. The school system, Fairfax County Public Schools, said an investigation was launched after it learned of the allegations at Centreville High School. "We have serious questions about these allegations that must be answered," FCPS said in a previous statement to Fox News Digital. "At no time would the situation as described in these allegations from back in 2021 be acceptable in Fairfax County Public Schools." "We have taken immediate action engaging an external investigator to get the facts," the district added. "We all deserve to know exactly what happened. We will take appropriate action as necessary." Asked earlier this month about whether FCPS staff have ever arranged abortions for students, including in this case, the district told WJLA it was not aware of any instances. "Not to [our] knowledge. We have launched an immediate investigation into these concerns as soon as we were made aware," the district told the outlet. FCPS policy states that "every effort shall be made to encourage and support students suspecting pregnancy to discuss their concerns with their parents or guardians." However, it does not say FCPS employees should inform parents about those conversations. Pro-life groups have condemned the "secretly arranged" abortions for students at Centreville High School. "A Fairfax high school secretly arranged and paid for student abortions—without telling parents," 40 Days for Life wrote on X. "This isn't 'healthcare.' It's state-funded child exploitation. Every official involved must be held accountable."

Harney Poway sushi restaurant targeted in early morning robbery
POWAY, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI)– An attempted robbery of the Harney Poway, a small sushi restaurant on Poway Road, early Sunday morning left the workers of the business shaken, but not defeated. Just before noon Sunday, the Poway Sheriff's Station received the report when an employee of the sushi restaurant notified the station, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's office. According to the report, on Sunday, around 2 a.m., surveillance footage from the restaurant showed an unknown individual entering the business. The restaurant's cash register was reportedly stolen. Harney Poway released photos of the incident on their social media, showing the burglar, who was wearing a hoodie and gloves, looking at items and rummaging through countertops. According to the post on the restaurant's social media, the individual broke into the back of the restaurant by picking the lock. The restaurant also stated that no one was injured during the robbery, and the only item taken was a cash register that had change in it. The sheriff's office said the investigation is in the preliminary stages and they have not determined if the incident is related to a series of other crimes throughout the county.
