Girona sets the future for two young African talents
Girona FC continues to put its faith in its rising African stars. The Catalan club has made a decision on the futures of Lass Kourouma and Dawda Camara, two players who have made their mark with the reserve team.
Lass Kourouma, a 21-year-old Guinean midfielder, was one of the main architects behind Girona B's promotion to the Segunda Federación. Vision, tempo control, and versatility make him a well-rounded prospect. Several LaLiga Hypermotion clubs have shown interest, but Girona has shut the door on any departure. The club is counting on him to play a role between the reserves and the first team this season.
For his part, Dawda Camara Sankharé, a 22-year-old Mauritanian striker, is also attracting plenty of interest. After a standout season in the regional championship, he impressed with his physical strength, aerial ability, and his skill at playing with his back to goal. He took part in preseason with the first team. Girona is open to a loan move to help him rack up professional minutes.

Aston Villa-Roma 3-0 - IN PROGRESS Roma, after many matches of varying levels, faces a direct rival in the upcoming Europa League: Emery's Aston Villa. The English side, in better shape, overwhelmed the Giallorossi in the first half, which ended 3-0. For Gasp, a draft of the starting lineup with Hermoso confirmed, Al Ayanoui-Koné in the middle, and Dovbyk up front. However, in the first 45 minutes, it was an English monologue with goals from Buendia, Ramsey, and Watkins. Buendia's goal was a gem from a free kick that Svilar could do nothing about. Overall, Roma did little, if anything, in a first half dominated by the Betis-Como 0-2 - IN PROGRESS Yet another tough test for Como, who, in the first 45 minutes, also outplayed last season's Conference League finalist. First Diao, then Da Cunha: Fabregas' Lariani overwhelmed the Spaniards in the first 2-1 Excellent test for Juric's Atalanta, showing strong progress in this outing against Monza despite falling behind to a goal from Birindelli. The comeback was completed in the second half for the Dea thanks to goals from Charles De Keteleare and Giorgio credit: AS Roma This article was translated into English by Artificial Intelligence. Packers QB Jordan Love wants to make more off-schedule plays in 2025
Healthy again, Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love wants to be a more creative playmaker on off-schedule plays in 2025. Love told Kevin Clark of ESPN that accuracy is a big emphasis coming out of the 2024 season, but he also wants to do more off-schedule playmaking now that his knee and groin injuries are healed. 'Create more plays, and make more off-schedule plays and use my legs more when things break down,' Love said. Love injured his knee in Week 1 and missed two games, and later injured his groin in late October. The two leg injuries limited his ability to break contain of the pocket and find plays outside of structure — a big part of his game as an athletic, big-play-hunting passer. 'I wasn't creating as many off schedule plays last season,' Love said. 'Obviously I was dealing with some injuries and different things like that, but I think that's a big part of my game that I got to get back into.' Love said he is 'pushing at practice' to emphasize creating the off-schedule plays. The reps during training camp are important to develop muscle memory and chemistry for himself and his receivers. At many practices this summer, Love has scrambled or found completions outside the pocket on extended plays. A quarterback who can make plays off schedule can help mitigate the impact of pressure and turn empty plays into positive ones. While Love was terrific at avoiding sacks last season, his mobility — and possibly his accuracy too — was affected by the injuries. The 2025 season is a fresh start, and Love wants to take a step forward. 'It's just taking that next step, continuing to keep growing myself and finding ways to get better and keep improving on things,' Love said. 'A big focus for me is just the consistency. Trying to be the best player I can be every play with my footwork and accuracy…just build the little things and keep stacking.' Longhorns unveil jaw-dropping new high-tech locker room complete with reclining chairs
Back in the Tom Herman era, renovating the Texas locker room became a big story. Images of Herman taking a sledgehammer to the old lockers and the reported $8,700 dollar per locker price tag was the talk of Longhorns Nation. But it's now been eight years and the Longhorns Football program decided it was time for an update. And what an update! Instead of current Texas coach Steve Sarkisian destroying the old lockers, they were put up for auction in May, clearing the way for the renovation to begin. Each new locker has its own reclining chair. There are smartly appointed drawers for shoes and a cabinet for personal belongings. The lockers are custom decorated for each player. The players name and number face out into the room and each player's picture and name are on the inside. There are also cabinets and cubbies for the pads and helmets. The carpet in the new locker room is black with a wide burnt orange border and "Texas Longhorns" in burnt orange block lettering. Each row of lockers has a big screen TV at the end for players to gather around. There are also SEC, Longhorns and Nike logos etched above the lockers. Somewhere, maybe even Tom Herman is proud.
