Who is Vijay Mallya's daughter-in-law, Jasmine, married to his son Sidhartha? Her education, career

Time of India4 days ago

Vijay Mallya's daughter-in-law, Jasmine, came into the spotlight last year after marrying his only son, Sidhartha Mallya, in June. While the ceremony received attention for its grandeur and celebrity guest list, many have been curious to know more about Jasmine herself—her background, education and career path.
Life in the United States
Jasmine has spent most of her life in the United States. She is known for her love of nature, animals, and travel, which is prominently reflected in her social media presence. Her Instagram feed is filled with glimpses of outdoor adventures, scenic destinations, and candid moments with her two pet dogs—a golden retriever and a husky.
Though her formal educational qualifications have not been publicly disclosed, Jasmine's initiatives indicate an awareness of global and humanitarian issues.
Career and Philanthropy
Jasmine is recognized not just as a public figure by association, but as an independent voice in social advocacy. She supports the Ceasefire Centre for Civilian Rights, which focuses on protecting civilian rights and promoting accountability in conflict-affected regions.
Additionally, Jasmine contributes to abortion funds in the United States, particularly in areas where access to reproductive healthcare is restricted.
While Jasmine does not appear to be engaged in a traditional corporate career, her philanthropic activity and social engagement reflect a profile that aligns more with advocacy and awareness.
Jasmine's relationship with Sidhartha Mallya began years before their 2024 marriage. The two reportedly got engaged in late 2023 after dating for about a year. One quirky detail that has gained fan interest is their shared love for the Harry Potter series—so much so that they even have matching themed tattoos.
Sidhartha Mallya: From Business Legacy to Entertainment
Born in Los Angeles, Sidhartha spent his early years between the UAE and England. He pursued his education at prestigious institutions like Wellington College, Queen Mary University of London, and the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. He later chose a path in modelling and acting, establishing a career in entertainment, separate from his father's business legacy.
Known previously for his relationship with Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone, Sidhartha's personal life has often been in the spotlight.

Meta rolls out AI-powered video editing across apps and web: How the feature works, eligibility and more

Meta has announced the rollout of a new generative AI video editing feature, now available on the Meta AI app, website, and the Edits app. The tool is aimed at simplifying video editing for users without professional experience, allowing them to transform short-form videos using a selection of pre-set AI prompts. The launch is part of Meta's broader effort to integrate AI-driven content creation tools across its platforms. Inspired by its Movie Gen models, the current offering allows users to apply a variety of transformations to 10-second segments of their videos. The edits can alter elements such as clothing, location, and visual style, offering an accessible entry point for personal and creative video customisation. Users can upload videos directly through the Meta AI app, Edits app, or the website. From there, they can choose from over 50 prompts to apply to their video clip. The transformation options range from stylised effects—like converting footage into a graphic novel or vintage comic book—to atmospheric changes, such as turning a gloomy outdoor scene into a dreamy, soft-focus visual complete with sparkles and colour filters. Another preset allows for a gaming-inspired transformation, adding video game-style visuals and character designs, including neon lighting and battle-themed outfits. The edits are rendered by Meta AI and made available for free for a limited time, although users can only transform up to ten seconds per video during the trial period. Once edited, videos can be shared directly to Meta's social platforms, including Facebook and Instagram, via the Edits and Meta AI apps. The web version also allows for publishing to the Discover feed, expanding the reach of user-generated content within Meta's ecosystem. The company says it has collaborated with content creators to develop prompt styles that resonate with digital audiences. The tool is being positioned not only as a creative outlet for casual users but also as a production aid for social media influencers and video creators looking to streamline their workflows. Available in the United States and more than a dozen other countries, the feature marks Meta's initial foray into consumer-facing AI video editing. According to the company, more advanced functionality is planned for later this year, including the ability to customise video edits using free-form text prompts.
