The team has been gearing up to sign Josh Giddey to a long-term deal to stay in Chicago. According to Brett Siegel of Clutch Points, Giddey and the Bulls have been in touch about a new deal in the 'three-year range.' Giddey is a restricted free agent currently. 'Josh Giddey and the Chicago Bulls are expected to reach a resolution on a new contract, likely in the three-year range, by the end of August,' Siegel said. 'The Bulls could increase their offer, but they have stood firm on keeping a new deal in the $20 million AAV range. The latest speculation from agents not involved in negotiations suggests something in the $65 million to $70 million range.' Giddey was the return package for Alex Caruso back in June 2024. The 22-year-old had a strong season in his first with the Bulls, averaging 14.6 points, 8.1 rebounds and 7.2 assists per game while also shooting a career-best 38 percent from three-point range. The Bulls won't be competing for a championship anytime soon, but that doesn't mean they can't lock up control for one of their brighter young talents. After trading away Lonzo Ball to the Cleveland Cavaliers, it's evident that the Bulls trust a player such as Giddey to run their offense, and have a similar all-around effect that Ball had. Getting Giddey to stay in town on a three-year deal in the $20 million annual range would be great value for a team looking to build a contender in the near future.
