Orlando Bloom's cryptic post on 'taking the first step' amid Katy Perry 'split'
Orlando Bloom has shared a cryptic Instagram message about 'taking the first step' amid ongoing rumours that he and fiancée Katy Perry have split. The Pirates of The Caribbean actor, 48, has hinted at trouble in paradise and moving on with his life after it was reported that he and popstar Katy, 40, have called it quits.
The British actor added fuel to the already blazing fire when he took to his Instagram Stories on Monday to share an inspirational quote from Buddha. After his wild weekend in Venice at Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez' wedding, Orlando posted the quote which read: "Each day is a new beginning. What we do today is what matters most."
In another story, he shared yet another quote which read: "The important thing is to take the first step. Bravery overcoming one small fear gives you the courage to take on the next."
Orlando's cryptic inspirational messages come as Katy is currently travelling Australia with her Lifetimes tour. The I Kissed A Girl singer has been documenting her wild nights out Down Under, with many fans on X insisting that she looks as though she is living the 'single life' again and 'thriving'.
Meanwhile, Orlando, who shares four-year-old daughter Daisy with Katy, enjoyed a lavish and star-studded weekend in Venice for the Bezos wedding - but Katy was nowhere to be seen - despite having recently gone into space with Lauren on Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin rocket.
While Katy was Down Under, Orlando appeared to be living it up in Venice - also sparking rumours that he is now single after being spotted with two mystery women. The actor appeared to be keeping his spirits high as he headed to a lavish pre-wedding bash. He was seen leaving the exclusive do with women and other guests before departing on a water taxi.
Inside the vehicle, he was seen getting close and chatty with one mystery woman. Orlando looked smart in a beige trouser and blazer combo over a loosely buttoned white shirt as he managed to keep a smile on his face.
It comes as the Hollywood pair have faced ongoing speculation over their relationship in recent weeks, with reports of "make or break talks". Neither Orlando or Katy have yet to confirm if the reports are true following their whirlwind romance which spanned almost a decade.
The pair had one of the pop-world's most talked-about romances when they first met 2016 at a Golden Globes afterparty and quickly hit it off, eventually making their relationship official in May 2016. However, the relationship hit rocky waters when the pair temporarily split up in 2017.
They then reunited and got engaged on Valentines Day, 2019 and a year later, Katy confirmed that she was pregnant with Orlando's baby. The pair were set to be wedded in Japan early 2020, until Covid hit, and they were forced to postpone. In summer 2020, they announced the birth of their first daughter.
However, five years on and the pair are allegedly no longer together after a decade of dating. A source told US Weekly: "Katy and Orlando have split but are amicable.' Their last sighting together was March 2025 at the 2025 Vanity Fair Oscar Party.
The Mirror has approached Orlando's representatives for comment on this story.

The Who set to 'come out of retirement and do an Elton John' after final gig
EXCLUSIVE: The Who were previously left in turmoil after drummer Zak Starkey left the band but they've been tipped to continue touring The Who won't retire and are set to follow in the footsteps of Elton John with one pal saying: 'It's not the end.' The rockers previously told how they are retiring from touring following 60 years together after a final set of dates in North America. The tour, which begins in August, will be a farewell to live shows for the legendary rock band, with Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey performing hits from their six-decade career. But Journalist Will Hodgkinson, a close pal of the band, regularly hosts press conferences for them after penning The Ballad of Britain about The Who and other bands' cultural significance in shaping British musical identity, said: 'I think they might do what Elton John has done. Elton has done the Palladium for a special. 'I can see them doing something like that. I think it's got too much for them being on tour. But I don't think it will be the end.' Elton announced that he was quitting music with his final epic Goodbye Yellow Brick Road tour. But he has since returned with a special date at The Palladium in London. The Who were recently left in turmoil after drummer Zak Starkey left the band. But Will says they will 'cope fine' without him. He continued: 'The Zak Starkey thing was odd. I guess they fell out. I guess that's what happened. They had an argument. But Zak didn't talk about it at all when I saw him a few weeks ago. I think they will cope fine.' He added: 'I don't know who it will be or if indeed they've already got someone.' Will's latest book titled Street Level Superstar is about failed pop star Lawrence who he spent a year shadowing in a bid to uncover a true 'uncompromising' artist. Pulp's Jarvis Cocker, Pete Townsend and Noel Gallagher are all fans of the little known star who fronted 1990s band Denim. The book won the prestigious Penderyn Music Book prize last year and has become a cult classic (MUST) while Denim's nearly famous record Summer Smash is being re-released. Will said: 'I think it took off because failure is more interesting than success. I was very reticent. But I really enjoyed it. I thought creatively this could be really good. This is somebody who is at odds with the world. He looks like a superstar but there he is with no money whatsoever getting shouted at by kids at the bus stop, mistaken for an old lady by an old man outside the pub. I thought this was amazing. When he walks down the street he thinks he is Prince.' The Who's Townsend even said he wants to be like Lawrence - a former heroin addict - because he's such an 'uncompromising' artist.
