Six killed in small plane crash in northeast Ohio
Two crew members and four passengers were on board a Cessna 441 plane that crashed seven minutes after taking off from Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport.
NBC affiliate WFMJ of Youngstown reported that the Ohio State Highway Patrol received a call reporting a crash at 7:01 a.m. Sunday in the area of King Graves Road.
It crashed into a wooded area in Howland Township, two miles east of the airport. Officials said the plane was headed to Bozeman, Montana.
"We are heartbroken to report that there are no survivors," Anthony Trevena, Executive Director at Western Reserve Port Authority, said at a Sunday news conference.
First responders retrieved the bodies from the wreckage, and they are with the coroner's office. Identities are pending next of kin notification.
The National Transportation Safety Board was on site Sunday evening and is investigating the cause of the crash. The Federal Aviation Administration is also aiding in the investigation.
Howland Township Fire Chief Ray Pace said it was difficult to access the plane as it landed in a heavily wooded area between King Graves Road and Spring Run Road. Authorities could only put out a fire at the crash site through those roads and a person's backyard.
Pace said the tragedy is likely the deadliest plane crash in the county's history.
Officials said the pilots were "highly experienced."
"These were the best of the best in terms of folks here at the field as well as the pilots. Can't say enough about them and give anything to rewind the day and take them to breakfast instead," Mike Hillman of Jets FBO said.
"I can't think of better people. So our community is at a great loss, and these were really wonderful people. It's a very tight-knit community, so all those in the aviation community have reached out. These are really important people to us, so we're grateful for the support of our community," Trevena added.

Fiire crews were told by the mum that two other children, both 4, were still inside on the second floor of the home. Frefighters rushed into the burning building in a bid to locate and rescue the two boys, they found the two children inside and removed them from the home as the flames continued to rip through the property. It comes after a headteacher spots a pupil stealing from school, but the explanation is heartbreaking. Sadly despite best efforts the two boys were unable to be saved and died at the scene. They have now been identified as Lathan and Langston McDaniel, according to The Tennessean and a GoFundMe campaign started on behalf of the twins' family. Lacey Corbitt, a family friend who organized the GoFundMe, said the twins were 'micro-preemie survivors' and faced 'a lot of health challenges during their lives.' Still, she said, the boys 'were absolutely the lights of our world.' The fundraiser also explained they leave behind their younger sister, Lexi Rose. The heartbrekaing message on the fundraising page read: 'Words cannot express the grief and despair this whole family (and the village it has taken to love and support them well) are currently experiencing,' Corbitt wrote in the description of the online fundraiser. 'I am trying to assist this family in renewing all that they have lost that is possible to replace.' Lacey's heartfelt message continued, 'We will never be able to get back their beautiful miracle twins, but maybe we can try to help replace all that has been lost.' More than $13,000 has already been raised through the GoFundMe campaign from 175 generous people as of Thursday, July 31. Meaning the donations have reached 46% of the end target of $30,000. On the page Lacey shared several family photos showing the boys smiling together before their tragic deaths.

Three of the four people died at the scene, while one person died at the hospital. Investigators are probing what could've caused the crash. The plane reached maximum heights of 3,570 meters, which equates to approximately 11,700 feet. One of the features of the Cirrus SR22T aircraft is that it has a parachute system. But, it appears that this failed. Before and after images of the Texas floods which killed more than 110 with 160 still missing lay bare the destruction the 'tsunami wall of water' has caused. Images released by Maxar Technologies shows the Ingram Dam before flash flooding along the Guadalupe River on July 25, 2022. On July 4 heavy rain caused the river to surge by more than 20 feet within 90 minutes, washing out the surrounding areas. The epicentre of the floods was in Kerr County, west of Austin, with girl's summer retreat Camp Mysticstruck by a 'tsunami wall of water' killing 27 children and their counselors. Renee Smajstrla was the first victim at the camp confirmed dead following the deluge. Her uncle Shawn Salta wrote on Facebook: 'Thank you to all our friends and family for all the prayers and outreach. 'Renee has been found and while not the outcome we prayed for, the social media outreach likely assisted the first responders in helping to identify her so quickly. Three are confirmed to have died in Williamson County, with one still missing, and at least one body has been located in Tom Green County. Meanwhile the National Weather Service has declared a flash food emergency in Ruidoso, New Mexico, with residents urged to seek higher ground.
