Spider-Man 4, officially titled Spider-Man: Brand New Day, has already generated excitement amongst locals over the last few months.
The eagerly awaited sequel will see Tom Holland reprise his iconic role and is set to be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton.
It is believed that Stranger Things actress Sadie Sink has been cast to star alongside Holland.
We previously told that filming was set to start sometime in the summer, with the film's release date scheduled for July 2026.
And today, The Herald revealed that cameras will officially begin rolling on Friday, August 1.
However, it means that a number of roads will be closed throughout the city for over two weeks as a result.
It will see traffic in some areas come to a near standstill as drivers will be forced to make their way along set-up diversion routes.
The closures are being implemented by Glasgow City Council, which has warned that bus and taxi lanes will also be impacted, with a suspension in place.
A section of the following roads will be closed to all vehicles between Friday, August 1, and Saturday, August 9:
Bothwell Street
Wellington Street
West Campbell Street
Blythswood Street
Douglas Street
Pitt Street

These include parts of:
Hope Street
Queen Street
Renfield Street
South Frederick Street
St Vincent Street
Ingram Street
West Nile Street
Drury Street (for its full length)
Filming is then set to move further along into Merchant City after Wednesday, August 13.
This means that cars will not be able to drive down the following roads between then and Saturday, August 16:
Wilson Street
Brunswick Stree t
t Hutchison Street
Candleriggs
Scenes are also expected to be filmed on Glassford Street and Virginia Street on Thursday, August 14, and Friday, August 15.
A spokesman for Glasgow City Council told The Herald: 'While we cannot comment on individual productions, the council's Glasgow Film Office is in constant dialogue with film, broadcast and advertising productions of all sizes who are interested in filming in the city to establish how we can support them.
"These productions bring a significant economic benefit to Glasgow, and have helped to steadily grow the capacity of our film and broadcast sector in recent years, as seen in new facilities such as the Kelvin Hall studio.'

The policy will be in place throughout August and it will need to rain for more than three hours on the day of their trip. If this does happen, then guests can return for free within seven days of their original visit date. CEO of Pleasure Beach Resort, Amanda Thompson OBE said: "It's important to us that guests have the best time when visiting, and while technically speaking the rain doesn't affect our rides, we wouldn't want the wet weather to dampen anyone's day. "We truly believe that you can have a great time at Pleasure Beach come rain or shine, but we know that everything is extra special when the weather is on side." If a guest wants to use a rainy day return, they should arrive at the same ticket centre on the day of their return visit and display their eTickets, paper tickets or confirmation email to staff. The new option can also be used seven days of the week. Blackpool Pleasure Beach resort was also recently named as one of the best attractions to bust kids being bored. created an index compiling the best attractions to take kids to this summer and the Lancashire-based attraction managed to beat the likes of Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando. Eerie demise of Noel Edmonds' 90s theme park left to decay with graffiti-covered rides after opening for only 13 weeks
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) NOEL Edmonds jetted to New Zealand to invest £15million in property and start a new life down under. Fans are hoping that his new business ventures are more successful than his Blobbyland theme park, which closed after just 13 weeks. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 8 Blobbyland was more popular than Buckingham Palace in the year that it opened Credit: SWNS The park in Cricket St Thomas, in Somerset, was based on the BBC's hit show Noel's House Party, and first opened in 1994. Blobbyland welcomed 650,000 guests, making it even more popular than Buckingham Place, which welcomed 200,000 fewer visitors in the same year. Inside was a mocked-up high street with a Blobby store, but the crown jewel of the resort was Mr Blobby's house. It was named Dunblobbin and was painted bright pink with yellow spots and had a blue roof. Locals often complained of a loud doorbell that could be heard for miles - which rang through their houses every time someone visited the little pink home. But the noise didn't bother guests as young fans went mad for its quirky look, which included a giant stuffed Blobby dog kipping on the ground. When visitors roamed in they were met with a view of a cake-only dinner that the fictional character and his family ate for tea. The entertainment show ran for eight years between November 1991 and March 1999, and Mr Blobby became a kids' craze. Although the bustling fantasy-fueled land attracted thousands of fans, it didn't last long. According to DorsetLive, when the area was re-discovered by urban explorers in 2009 it rekindled the public's interest, and soon groups of people started trying to break into the forgotten den. Noel Edmonds' most bizarre moments - from 'dead parent' orbs and 'electro smog' to Candice the mannequin and bid to buy the BBC As a result, the land's owners blocked an access tunnel and had the remains demolished in 2014. Noel, 76, returning to TV screens to document his new life in New Zealand in June - but insisted the ITV show will be nothing like Clarkson's Farm — because he's not as funny as the former Top Gear star. Noel exclusively told The Sun: 'When we were filming our show, some people who knew about Clarkson's Farm said to me, 'Oh, is it like Clarkson's Farm?' 'And I said, 'No, it couldn't be more different.' First of all, I'm not like Jeremy in many ways, though I wish I were. "He's brilliant. He can articulate an argument beautifully and deliver a sharp, humorous line like no one else.' Noel went on to crack a joke about his years in the showbiz wilderness. His last big gig was on I'm A Celebrity in 2018, when he was voted out after only nine days. Noel laughed: 'People still ask, 'Noel Edmonds? Didn't he die? Is he still around?' 'Yes, I'm still here — and living life to the full.'
