Family Health Services of Darke County and AndHealth Celebrate Ribbon Cutting and Launch of Retail + Specialty Pharmacy at Expanded Greenville Location

GREENVILLE, Ohio--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Family Health Services of Darke County and AndHealth will celebrate the opening of Family Health Services' retail and specialty pharmacy on Thursday, August 7 th at 4:00 PM. The ribbon cutting will take place at Family Health Services' newly expanded Greenville facility, located at 5735 Meeker Road, and will be followed by an open house from 5:00 – 8:00 PM featuring light refreshments, family-friendly activities, and tours of the renovated space. "With this expansion, we're not just adding services, we're closing care gaps and removing barriers to health for our neighbors.' This milestone marks a major step forward in Family Health Services' mission of Building Healthy Lives Together. This expansion adds 44,000 square feet of clinical space, modernizes the patient experience, and introduces expanded pharmacy services, including the launch of Darke County's only specialty pharmacy. These enhancements will significantly improve access for patients managing chronic and complex conditions, particularly those impacted by long-standing pharmacy shortages in rural Ohio. Family Health Services' specialty pharmacy services are powered by a partnership with AndHealth, a Columbus-based healthcare company that helps CHCs radically improve access and outcomes to specialty care. Ohioans can now fill their prescriptions directly through Family Health Services' pharmacy, where affordable medications are available to all patients under Family Health Service's sliding fee scale. 'There is an immense value in having specialty care and pharmacy services directly within our community,' said Jared Polick, Executive Director and CEO of Family Health Services. 'Residents of Darke County will now be able to receive care close to home and have the personal support of local clinical pharmacists and specialists. With this expansion, we're not just adding services, we're closing care gaps and removing barriers to health for our neighbors.' The updated Greenville facility now offers integrated medical, behavioral health, dental, rheumatology, dermatology, neurology, and pharmacy services under one roof – creating a true whole-person care environment that prioritizes convenience, coordination, and affordability. Addressing Ohio's Pharmacy Deserts and Improving Medication Access According to new data 1 released by the Ohio Board of Pharmacy, pharmacy closures have accelerated, and the state has lost hundreds of pharmacies over the past several years, leaving Ohioans with less than 2,000 retail pharmacies. Nearly 2 million Ohioans live in 'pharmacy deserts', or areas that lack convenient access to a pharmacy. 2 These access deserts disproportionately impact individuals in socially vulnerable communities, who face additional barriers to access and care, making the role of pharmacies located at CHCs even more central to improving community health in Ohio. AndHealth partners with Community Health Centers (CHCs) like Family Health Services to expand access to care by addressing pharmacy and care deserts. 'Ensuring our patients have access to affordable medications can only be accomplished when we reverse the trend of pharmacy consolidation and closure,' said Brenda Reitz, Family Health Services' Pharmacy Director. 'This pharmacy expansion allows us to support the community in new ways and ensures our neighbors needs can be met right here in Darke County.' Family Health Services' ribbon cutting will take place at its 5935 Meeker Rd location in Greenville at 4:00 P.M. on August 7 th with an open house to follow from 5:00 – 8:00 PM. The event is open to all, and guests are encouraged to RSVP by contacting Kalie Riffle at kriffle@ About Family Health Services Family Health Services is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) dedicated to building healthier lives through integrated, affordable care. Summer Crisis Program offers cooling help for Ohio households

The Ohio Heartland Community Action Commission is offering assistance to help families stay cool during the summer months. The Summer Crisis Program, running through Sept. 30, provides aid in paying electric bills, obtaining air conditioners or fans and repairing central air conditioning units, according to an announement. The program targets low-income households, those with disconnection notices, and homes with residents over 60 or with medical conditions requiring cooling assistance. Qualifying conditions include lung disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and asthma. To qualify, households must have a gross income at or below 175% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines for up to eight members, and 60% of the state median income for nine or more members. For a family of four, the annual income must be at or below $56,262.50. Last year, the program assisted over 44,000 households in Ohio, providing $13.5 million in benefits. A new online portal at aims to streamline the application process. Residents must register for an OHID account to access their HEAP account. 'We know that when someone is facing a crisis, every minute counts,' said Lydia Mihalik, director of the Ohio Department of Development, which administers the program. 'This new online system makes it faster and easier for Ohioans to apply for help − so they can get the support they need, when they need it most.' To apply, schedule an appointment with OHCAC by calling 419-928-3236 or, using Google Chrome, go to and schedule online. Clients need to bring copies of their most recent energy bills, a list of all household members, proof of income, U.S. citizenship or legal residency, proof of disability (if applicable), physician documentation for cooling assistance, and a disconnect notice (if applicable). Residents enrolled in the Percentage of Income Payment Plan Plus (PIPP) program will not be eligible to receive a monetary benefit this year. However, they could be eligible to receive an air conditioner and/or fan if one was not received in 2022, 2023 or 2024. Remo Health and Cleveland Clinic Medicare Accountable Care Organization Collaborate to Support Patients with Dementia

CLEVELAND--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Remo Health, a virtual dementia care provider, and the Cleveland Clinic Medicare Accountable Care Organization (ACO), a value-based care entity focused on improving the quality of care for Medicare patients while lowering costs, are announcing a pilot initiative to deliver comprehensive support to eligible patients living with dementia and their caregivers. Families caring for a loved one with dementia deserve 24/7 access to personalized care, no matter where they live. This is what the future of dementia care should look like – truly compassionate and comprehensively supporting patients and their caregivers. Share The Cleveland Clinic ACO is committed to helping its patients age independently in their homes for as long as possible. This collaboration with Remo Health supports these efforts and is designed to address the growing needs of Ohioans living with the disease. This collaboration delivers robust resources and personalized care, especially crucial for rural families who often drive hours to appointments and working caregivers. As an added benefit, Cleveland Clinic ACO patients in Ohio will now have access to a nationwide peer support network of over 20,000 families, connecting them with others navigating a similar journey. 'As dementia becomes increasingly prevalent, it will place significant pressure on our health care system to meet the complex and continuous needs of patients and their caregivers,' said Jessica Hohman, M.D., president of Cleveland Clinic ACO. 'We're excited to embark on this collaboration to deliver wraparound care and support that extends beyond the clinical setting and into the home. It's important we continue to search for innovative solutions to help guide patients and families through every stage of the 24/7 dementia journey.' Nearly a quarter million Ohioans are living with dementia and more than 450,000 are serving as unpaid, round-the-clock, caregivers — a role that is often isolating and overwhelming. Two-thirds of these caregivers are struggling with chronic health conditions themselves, often associated with the daily demands and stress of care. "Families caring for a loved one with dementia deserve 24/7 access to personalized care — no matter where they live,' said Will Poe, M.D., CEO and co-founder of Remo Health. 'Remo Health and Cleveland Clinic ACO have a shared mission to bring caregivers the tools, resources, and support they need to manage the day-to-day challenges they face.
