Twin boys, 4, die after being trapped inside house fire as mum watches in horror
Twin boys, aged four, have sadly died after they were trapped in a house fire.
The tragic house fire started on Monday July 28 and shortly after 4.30am emergency services rushed to the scene. Fire crews rushed to the scene at a home in the 2000 block of Arbor Pointe Way, Nashville according to NBC affiliate WSMV-TV and CBS affiliate WTVF. First responders reportedly found a mother and one of her three children outside the burning property.
Fiire crews were told by the mum that two other children, both 4, were still inside on the second floor of the home. Frefighters rushed into the burning building in a bid to locate and rescue the two boys, they found the two children inside and removed them from the home as the flames continued to rip through the property. It comes after a headteacher spots a pupil stealing from school, but the explanation is heartbreaking.
Sadly despite best efforts the two boys were unable to be saved and died at the scene. They have now been identified as Lathan and Langston McDaniel, according to The Tennessean and a GoFundMe campaign started on behalf of the twins' family.
Lacey Corbitt, a family friend who organized the GoFundMe, said the twins were 'micro-preemie survivors' and faced 'a lot of health challenges during their lives.' Still, she said, the boys 'were absolutely the lights of our world.' The fundraiser also explained they leave behind their younger sister, Lexi Rose.
The heartbrekaing message on the fundraising page read: 'Words cannot express the grief and despair this whole family (and the village it has taken to love and support them well) are currently experiencing,' Corbitt wrote in the description of the online fundraiser. 'I am trying to assist this family in renewing all that they have lost that is possible to replace.'
Lacey's heartfelt message continued, 'We will never be able to get back their beautiful miracle twins, but maybe we can try to help replace all that has been lost.'
More than $13,000 has already been raised through the GoFundMe campaign from 175 generous people as of Thursday, July 31. Meaning the donations have reached 46% of the end target of $30,000. On the page Lacey shared several family photos showing the boys smiling together before their tragic deaths.

Co Down village community shells out time and money to clean up rat-infested beach
Once strewn with rubbish, seaweed and completely green, the beach on the Ards Peninsula has seen a vast improvement since Deborah Mann organised a community clean-up. Living in Millisle for over 40 years, Deborah was prompted by her husband Gary to post a notice on Facebook to organise a village beach clean. Efforts to tidy the beach then moved on to improving the general surroundings, with John McLean (80) taking to weeding the surrounding area. Overseeing the efforts, liaising with the council and providing well-earned drinks to volunteers is Deborah. 'It was actually my husband Gary Mann to prompted this, he has been litter picking for a long time,' said the Co Down woman. 'He enjoys doing it, loves being on the beach. On July 15 — he doesn't do social media — he said to me to stick it [the notice] on Facebook, because he was going down to start weeding this beach. The support he got was unbelievable. A lot of the other residents came to help, there must have been nearly 100 bags cleared.' However, despite their good intentions to clean up the beach, they initially received pushback from Ards and North Down Borough Council. Grievances were initially raised due to environmental issues and wildlife concerns. 'The beach is now infested with rats. Council kept saying it is not allowed to be touched because it is an environmental issue,' she said. 'About a week later a couple of the guys decided to get together and de-weed the whole Main Street, it was also cleared of rubbish. They tirelessly worked for hours. 'A few days after that, a few professional painters gave up their time and painted a couple of derelict buildings. 'I then started a GoFundMe, within two days it went from a £400 target to £3,400. Every single penny is going towards the cleaning and restoration efforts. 'The council has actually given us the bags now to help clean up. We have actually got DAERA onboard as well about this rat situation. 'We are painting gable walls, with permission of the landlords and on the derelict buildings. 'We plan to paint otters on them, seagulls, everything to do with a seaside village. 'Hopefully there will be benches, we have a joiner, he is going to do mock door frames and window frames. And we are going to put window boxes in as well. 'There will be a painting — the artist is costing around £200 per painting.' With the council now onboard with their plans to clean up the small coastline, Deborah reflected on how the village used to be when she met her husband in 1984. 'This place was thriving. Now all we have is an off-licence and the Spar. You've got your chemists and your two pubs but there is nowhere to go to have a cup of tea and a traybake with friends. 'We don't have a community centre, and the population of Millisle is very low .' Pensioner John McLean is a key worker in making Millisle beautiful . 'When I started to do this, it didn't really enter my head the importance of what I was doing,' he said. 'About half a dozen hours I did on the Friday — two weeks ago — then on the Saturday I did nothing because of the bands and the marches. 'So, after church on the Sunday I started to get stuck in again, to finish the 100 yards to the entrance. 'I didn't for one minute think that I would be getting involved with this, I really appreciate it.' Volunteer Edna Caskey said: 'The progress on the beach has been fantastic, this will be a continued effort by us to keep the beach clean.'

Little Zaahir Jan was hit by a bus while crossing the road outside the NHS Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother Hospital in Margate, Kent, at around 4pm on Thursday. Emergency services rushed to the scene and Zaahir was taken to hospital, but he was sadly pronounced dead a short time later. Azaria Green, Zaahir's heartbroken mum, says the incident unfolded when he'd gone to the toilet holding his 10-year-old brother's hand while she waited in the car park with her sister. She explained that Zaahir went to the toilet and told his brother he was "going back to mum", before he ran across the road and was tragically struck. Azaria has now paid a moving tribute to her "best boy", who she says slept in her bed every night. She has so far been unable to go home because she can't bring herself to look at Zaahir's belongings. The mother, from Canterbury, Kent, said: "We were going to visit my mum. Me and my sister were in the car park and he went to the toilet with my sister's partner and the other kids. "He was holding his 10-year-old brothers hand and he went to the toilet. He said he was going to go back to mum. He was trying to come back to me and he ran in the road. "It was horrible. He was the strongest, bravest, happiest boy ever. He was so loving. He was so strong. I think I'm in shock. I don't know what's going to happen soon but I'm really not OK at the moment. He loved me so much. He was my best boy. "I haven't been able to go home because I can't look at his stuff and his toys and his iPad. He slept in my bed with me every single day and we used to cuddle before we slept and as soon as we'd wake up we cuddled and told each other we loved each other." Azaria has set up a GoFundMe page with a target of raising £15,000 to help cover the costs of his funeral. Over £9,000 has already been raised, and Azaria said: "The fundraiser has been set up to cover the costs of his funeral because I literally had nothing in my account. "I just want to give him the best that I can. He loved cars so much. I want to try and get him some flowers in the shape of cars." Kent Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit are investigating the incident and have since launched an appeal for information. A Kent Police spokesperson said: "Witnesses, CCTV and dashcam footage are sought by officers investigating a fatal collision in Margate. "Kent Police was called to Ramsgate Road shortly after 4pm on Thursday August 7 following a report of an incident involving a bus and a pedestrian outside Queen Elizabeth Queen Margaret Hospital. "The bus, a white single decker vehicle, was travelling near the entrance to the A&E department. It is reported that the pedestrian, a four-year-old boy, left the hospital on foot and a collision took place. "The child was taken inside the hospital and a short while later was sadly confirmed deceased. His next of kin has been informed. "Investigators from Kent Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward. "Witnesses, including passengers travelling on the bus who have not yet spoken to police, should call 01622 798538 or email quoting reference KH//055/25." Tracey Fletcher, Chief Executive of East Kent Hospitals, said: "We are very saddened by the tragic incident and send our sincere condolences to the family."

Fundraiser for funeral of boy killed by bus in Margate reaches £5,000

On Friday blankets, flowers, sweets and letters were laid at a memorial area close to the Police is appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them.
