The NBA Finals looked destined to become an Oklahoma City Thunder romp. Thunder fans clad in white and filling the Paycom Center watched their team lead by 15. But the Indiana Pacers deflated the energy inside the arena — and snapped a long streak afterward.

Indiana never led until the 0.3 seconds mark of the fourth. Tyrese Haliburton lifted the Pacers to the lead. All thanks to this epic basket.
Indiana pulled off the 111-110 victory to open this latest finals series. But the Pacers pulled off another feat per AP Sports basketball writer Josh Dubow.
'Pacers trailed by nine with 2:52 to play. In play-by-play era (since start of 1997 playoffs), teams were 0-121 in NBA Finals when trailing by 7+ points in final 3:00 of 4th quarter or overtime before tonight,' Dubow mentioned.
That's an astonishing feat shattered by Indiana. And that wasn't the only mark they hit.

Indiana hit more finals history. Per NBA Communications, the visiting team tied this mark.

'The Pacers tied the biggest fourth-quarter comeback (15-point deficit) in the NBA Finals since 1971,' the account posted via X (formerly Twitter).
That '71 series pitted the Milwaukee Bucks against the Baltimore Bullets. The Bucks won that series in a sweep.
'Indiana took its first lead of the game with 0.3 seconds left in the fourth quarter. Since 1971, this is the latest into any Finals game that a team took its first lead,' NBA Communications confirmed.
Jalen Williams threw down a dunk that placed OKC up 94-79 with 9:42 left. OKC grew used to taking massive leads, and not letting the foot off the gas pedal. But the Pacers were the ones hitting the acceleration key.

Andrew Nembhard sparked the rally on a driving layup. Obi Toppin then hit a 26-foot shot from behind the arc. Myles Turner sliced the lead to eight off his long-range three-point basket. He banked another with 6:50 left that made it 98-91.
Turner scored the next five points to push the deficit to four at 100-96. OKC led by nine with 2:52 left. But Indiana closed on a 12-2 run to grab the opening game. And shattered history in the process.

Brett Favre's heartfelt reaction to Vikings legend Jim Marshall's passing

The post Brett Favre's heartfelt reaction to Vikings legend Jim Marshall's passing appeared first on ClutchPoints. Jim Marshall left a massive imprint on the football world, embodying the toughness and ferocity that defined the sport for so many decades. His legacy is especially powerful for those who have represented or rooted for the Minnesota Vikings. Current and former members of the organization sent their condolences following Marshall's passing on Tuesday. Advertisement Brett Favre, who donned the Purple and Gold for the last two years of his Hall of Fame career, can understand what it means to withstand grueling punishment year after year for the love of the game. He also knows what this man meant to The Gopher State. The Super Bowl-winning quarterback shared some kind words and reflected on No. 70's enduring impact. 'Man, I'll never forget the day I got to meet Jim Marshall — one of the true original Iron Men of the NFL,' Favre posted on X. 'Tough as nails, played 282 consecutive games as a defensive end… in an era when the game was as gritty and raw as it gets. 'Growing up watching guys like Jim, I learned what it meant to show up every single Sunday, no matter what. To have had the chance to shake his hand — and even play in front of him — was a real honor. 'Guys like Jim paved the way. They didn't ask for attention, they earned respect with every snap. I tried to bring that same mindset to the field every week. My condolences go out to him and his family — but he's certainly a legend among legends.' What Jim Marshall gave to the Vikings and their endlessly loyal fans Marshall's 270 consecutive starts rank only behind Favre's 297. The longtime defensive end congratulated the gunslinger in person for breaking his record, for he knows the physical and mental sacrifice required to post such an astonishing attendance record. Though, Marshall did far more than simply show up. Advertisement The No. 44 overall pick in the 1960 NFL Draft played 19 of his 20 seasons with Minnesota (began career with Cleveland Browns) and was a pivotal member of the iconic Purple People Eaters defense, which also consisted of Alan Page, Carl Eller and Gary Larsen. Marshall served a vital role during what is still the greatest era of Vikings football, helping the team reach the Super Bowl four separate times. Unfortunately, the team and community are still waiting for their first Lombardi Trophy. When impatience rises throughout Minneapolis, it is good to revisit or learn about the prosperous 1970s. Jim Marshall, who died at the age of 87 after a lengthy stay in the hospital, is responsible for so many of those memories. Yes, he also produced many chuckles via his infamous 'Wrong Way Run' in 1964, but the two-time Pro Bowl selection helped set the stage for the defensive warriors who have come after him, just as Favre noted. Marshall recorded 130.5 unofficial sacks (was not counted as a stat until 1982) and 29 opponent fumble recoveries in his storied NFL career. More than the numbers he accumulated, however, he breathed life into the Minnesota Vikings. The beloved captain was an inaugural member of the franchise and stayed connected to the team well after his retirement. He inspired Brett Favre and so many others, and by the sound of it, they will do their part to make sure his invaluable contributions are properly recognized moving forward. Bulls rumors: Insider reveals Chicago's ‘competitive' trade desires

The post Bulls rumors: Insider reveals Chicago's 'competitive' trade desires appeared first on ClutchPoints. Like the last few offseasons, the Chicago Bulls are expected to be a popular team when it comes to trades during the next few months. The Bulls finished another disappointing season back in April, which didn't leave the door open for a top draft pick. So, the team will likely try to revamp its roster with trades this offseason. Nikola Vucevic, Coby White and Lonzo Ball are all key players from last year's team that could be involved. Advertisement Because of his contract, Lonzo Ball is a popular trade candidate for the Bulls. He has been at the forefront of trade rumors in the past, but he reached a deal with the team ahead of the trade deadline back in February. It was a two-year, $20 million deal, but only the first year is guaranteed. 'As soon as he signed that contract, he was up for trade, because that contract is so trade-friendly,' Bulls insider Joe Cowley said on Wednesday. 'It's basically a one year, $10 million deal. The team has the option for the next 10 million for year number two.' Ball isn't the only trade candidate as everyone expects Nikola Vucevic to be traded this offseason. Because of the Bulls' desire to remain competitive (which has resulted in three straight play-in tournament exits), they are stuck in an awkward middleground that has shown no signs of ending. 'It's not only Lonzo up for trade, Vooch (Nikola Vucevic) is up for trade,' Cowley continued. 'I mean, the Bulls are trying to change this roster over, and again, talk about walking a fine line and a tight rope, they're trying to do so while still trying to be competitive for some ungodly reason. That's the path that they continue to choose. So enjoy late lottery picks every year.' Advertisement Lonzo Ball and Nikola Vucevic are two key players that might get traded this offseason, but Josh Giddey is someone that the Bulls are liklely going to re-sign. 'I think we all wrote when Lonzo signed that deal on the, I believe, was the night of the trade deadline in Minnesota, we all wrote that, basically, this deal was signed to be a trade candidate,' Cowley said. 'I mean, Lonzo spun it as he wanted to stay here. He wanted to stay close to Dr. Cole. But look, everything is on the table for the Bulls this off season. Vooch, Lonzo, a package of those two, whatever they can do to try and add to this mix that they're trying to build on the run, as well as resigning Josh Giddey, that's going to be coming shortly too.' As you can see, the Bulls have big decisions to make surrounding a lot of their top players. This is another crucial offseason for the team, and it has to be a good one as the fan base grew tired of the on-court product a long time ago. Florida A&M places Angela Suggs on administrative leave following arrest

The post Florida A&M places Angela Suggs on administrative leave following arrest appeared first on ClutchPoints. Following her arrest, Florida A&M has placed Angela Suggs on administrative leave. Suggs faces charges of grand theft, scheme to defraud, and four misdemeanor counts for submitting false travel voucher claims, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. The Florida A&M alumna surrendered earlier on Monday and was released on a $13,500 bond shortly after 2:30 p.m., according to court records. Per a statement by interim president Dr. Timothy Beard to HBCU Gameday, Suggs was placed on leave with pay until further notice and deputy directors of athletics Travis Glasgow and Brittney Johnson will run operations. Sugg's arrest and subsequent investigation and charges stem from her work with the Florida Sports Foundation, in which she served as president of the organization. The Florida Sports Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit organization that serves as the Sports Industry Development Division for the State of Florida. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement released a statement detailing the scope of their investigation. 'The investigation began in November 2024 after FDLE received a criminal referral from the Florida Department of Commerce's Inspector General with an audit of Suggs' business credit card purchases and corresponding travel reimbursements,' the statement read. 'The investigation revealed Suggs misused her FSF-issued credit card to make wire transfers and cash withdraws and personal purchases at casinos during business trips, totaling more than $24,000. The statement continued, 'When asked about the unauthorized charges, Suggs claimed some were for business meals and others were accidentally charged to the business card. She failed to fully repay (the foundation) for her personal expenditures.' In September 2024, Suggs was appointed Athletic Director at Florida A&M University, succeeding Tiffani-Dawn Sykes. A proud Tallahassee native and FAMU alum, Suggs has a longstanding connection to FAMU Athletics. Suggs recently facilitated the hiring of Florida State legend Charlie Ward to become the next basketball coach for the institution.
