Man sparks male loneliness debate after swiping right 2million times on Tinder
Tinder user Hayden detailed in his Reddit post how he has managed just one date, which was unsuccessful, in five years on the app after swiping right on more than 2 million profiles
A 26-year-old man has gone viral after sharing his Tinder profile, on which he has landed just one date after swiping right to more than two million profiles on the dating app.
The Reddit post detailing the story ruffled feathers online with large groups of both men and women in agreement that the poor date ratio was due to several 'red flags' in the man's profile which included stereotypical 'catching fish' pictures and hoodies with bad jokes printed on them.
The man, who goes by Hayden on his profile, shared that he has been on the dating app for a little over five years. According to statistics he published himself, he has given 2,020,459 swipes right and 38,014 swipes left.
"Over 90% of my matches are bots, I also have to change my location so I can keep swiping," he explained in the original post. "There's a lot more to this data that isn't shown. I don't ever match with anyone in my own state."
On Tinder, you view a person's profile which contains images and basic information about them before having a conversation. If you like what you see then you swipe right, left if you don't, and if both people swipe right it's a match and the conversation can begin.
Hayden's statistics also rallied corners of social media who have cited a ' male loneliness epidemic ', referring to a rising sense of loneliness among men, particularly younger in age, which is earmarked as the cause of bad mental or physical health.
The online phenomena has its critics, chiefly those who point out the isolation could be brought on due to increased screen times and the fact that men are not the only demographic who feel lonely.
Others have linked the social epidemic to incel culture, an online community of men who consider themselves unable to attract women sexually. This group is tied to hostility towards women both online and offline and was featured in the Netflix show Adolescence, though some have distanced male loneliness from this.
Hyden's Reddit post listed that, from 2,020,459 swipes right, he had managed 2,053 matches which led to 1,269 conversations on Tinder and one date, which was unsuccessful.
The profile contained prompts written by Hayden such as: "If you're not trying to go fishing, I don't want it. My idea of a vacation is going to the desert and looking for snakes for a week. I may or may not currently own 33 snakes."
Words of advice and support were adding to the Reddit post, with one user writing: "Hey man, I get it—dating apps can feel hopeless, especially when you're stuck in a cycle of negativity. And I know you aren't looking for advice, but let's be real: Your profile isn't working because it's sending the wrong signals. It's 100% not because you're 'ugly' or 'unlovable.'
"The good news? Your profile is easily fixed. Delete your current profile. It's time for a clean slate. Ditch the fish pics. Yeah, it's a meme, but women see 10 fish pics a day. It screams 'I have no personality beyond a tackle box.'"
Men average 137 swipes per day, according to Tinder insights, compared to the women's average of 200. Hayden however, averages a mindboggling 1,953 swipes per day on the dating site.

Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford make same vow as fight announced
After months of anticipation, the blockbuster super-middleweight showdown between Alvarez and Crawford has finally been confirmed and will take place later this year Both Terence Crawford and Canelo Alvarez have made a confident vow after their super-fight was made official. Saudi boxing chief Turki Alalshikh confirmed the blockbuster Riyadh Season showdown between the two pound-for-pound stars - which will take place in Las Vegas on Saturday, September 13. Alalshikh will team up with UFC president Dana White and Sela to promote the event - which promises to be one of the biggest fights of the year. Popular streaming service Netflix will broadcast the fight live globally to its 300+ million subscribers at no additional cost. With a little over three months to go until the super-middleweight dust-up, Alvarez and Crawford have both expressed their excitement about the upcoming contest. Following confirmation of the news, Alvarez - who beat William Scull last month - said: 'I'm super happy to be making history again and this time on a Riyadh Season Card that will be broadcast on Netflix. On September 13, I'm ready to show once again that I am the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world.' Similarly, Crawford has also vowed to put on a career-defining display and secure an emphatic victory on fight night. 'My perfect record speaks for itself," Crawford said. "I am the best fighter in the world and no matter the opponent or weight class, I have always come out on top. On September 13, my hand will be raised once again as the world watches greatness.' With preparations already well underway, Alalshikh has vowed to deliver 'something truly incredible' for the boxing faithful come fight night. 'On September 13, Canelo and Crawford, two legends of boxing, will finally compete against each other in the fight of the century," he said. "Alongside Dana White and Sela, we will deliver something truly incredible in Las Vegas for fans around the world to enjoy through Netflix.' Recently, Alalshikh made a sudden U-turn about the event suggesting it would instead promoted as a Riyadh Season event, with White appearing to be left out in the cold. However, immediately after UFC 316 in New Jersey last weekend, White insisted everything is still running as planned with Alalshikh. And, on Tuesday afternoon, following confirmation that White WILL still be involved, the UFC president - who recently launched the new TKO boxing league, said: 'Turki wants to make the biggest fights that the fans want to see in boxing and this is right up my alley. Are you kidding me that the first boxing fight I'm going to get to promote is Canelo vs. Crawford? It's literally a once in a lifetime fight. Live on Saturday, September 13, streaming globally on Netflix, two of the GREATEST boxers in the sport will meet in a historic fight from Las Vegas.' Ahead of the mouthwatering event, Alvarez and Crawford will stage a three-city international press tour, kicking off in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Friday, June 20 before heading to the United States for stops in New York at Fanatics Fest on Sunday, June 22 and in Las Vegas on Friday, June 27. 'Saul' has been a dominant force since losing to Floyd Mayweather Jr in 2013. He has recently scored wins over Scull, Edgar Berlanga, Jaime Munguia, Jermell Charlo, and John Ryder. Meanwhile, Crawford, has not fought since defeating Israil Madrimov last August. The 37-year-old will be moving up two weight classes to challenge Alvarez.

Jamie Foxx delivers heartfelt speech at BET Awards thanking daughters who helped his stroke recovery
Jamie Foxx let the tears flow while accepting the Ultimate Icon Award at the BET Awards on June 9. After being introduced by Stevie Wonder, the Oscar winner opened on a note of gratitude. 'Man, we used to take this thing for granted — that God is good,' he began his speech. 'I cannot even begin to express the love that I feel from everybody out there,' he continued. Foxx, who revealed in his 2024 Netflix special 'Jamie Foxx: What Had Happened Was...' that he had suffered a brain bleed that led to a stroke in 2023, expressed appreciation at his good fortune, noting he thought there was a time he could've been included in the show's in memoriam segment. 'I got to be honest ... When I saw that in memoriam, I was like, 'Man, that could've been me,'' he said. 'But I don't know why I went through what I went through, but I know my second chance, I'm not going to turn it down,' he said while getting emotional. 'I'm not going to turn down. I have so much love to give. I told Him, I said, 'Man, bro,' I said, 'Just give me one more crack at this and I promise.' I said, 'Whatever reason you put this on me, I promise I'm (going to) do right. And I'm (going to) do right in front of y'all, because I know a lot of times, when we get on we forget about where we come from,' he said. Later, he turned his attention to his family, starting with his sister, Deidre Dixon, who was at the show. He thanked her for helping save his life. 'When I went through what I was going through, she shut it down. And she made sure that she took care of her brother,' he said. The 'Ray' star also paid tribute to his two daughters. 'My beautiful daughter, Corinne, I cannot say enough about you. You've always taken a backseat to everything. But when you needed to drive it, you drove. And you made sure I was here ... At a certain point, I'm going to stop crying, but I'm not going to stop just yet,' he said, fighting tears. Foxx then turned his attention to his other daughter, Anelise. 'Anelise Estelle Foxx, my baby with the big hair. She hides under that hair because she got something special. You're so beautiful, man,' Foxx said. 'When I was fighting for my life in there, I got to say this. They said, 'We're going to lose him because his vitals are bad.' And I didn't want my 14-year-old to see me like that. 'But Anelise overheard the conversation and she snuck into my hospital room with her guitar and said, 'I know what my Daddy needs,'' he continued. 'And as she played the guitar, my vitals dropped. And I realized that God was in that guitar. And the nurses ran in and said, 'What did they give him?' My daughter said, 'Shh, I've got him.'' During his Netflix special, Foxx talked about how Anelise helped save his life when she played the guitar for him in the hospital. 'You know what I found out? It was God in that guitar,' he said. 'That's my spiritual defibrillator.' She then walked onto the stage with her guitar and they hugged.
